Kohli has helped bring India out of a almost certain loss into now a fighting chance to win this test match. There are a lot of people now saying that he might be the greatest batsman ever. I think in the past 50 years or so, yes Kohli is up there with some of the greats, but I still think Bradman is the best batsman of all time and will never be beaten.

I wouldn't even rate Kohli as the best batsmen currently. There are others out there, such as Steve Smith, Root, Williamson and Chandimal. What makes Kohli special or unique when compared to the other players? After all, he is human only.

I don't know whether Kohil is best in the current cricket world but what I know is he is one of the best batsmen. But what matters is consistency. If a player can play well for a long time then automatically their name will go up. Kohil is one of such player and plays good batting most of the time so many people like him.

In the current match India had a very good start but they didn't capitalize that and slowly lost all their wickets and only Kholi manages to score 140+ runs and that's why India can reach a decent score in their first innings. If not, they all would have all out for less than 150 runs. England has already lost their first wicket in the second innings just for nine runs. let's see who can outperform in this match.

Being an Indian, I would rate Kohli as the best batsmen India has ever produced. But I would not mention my opinion about whether he is the best batsmen ever. I don't know much about legends such as Bradman and Sutcliffe.

India are currently at 105/5 chasing 194 runs . They still require 89 runs and 5 wickets left. Kohli would be the key if India has to win this match as he has made 149 runs in the first innings as well. It will be an interesting match and results would come tomorrow.

Do not follow Cricket much now but I think that A B de Villiers is also a much better package in comparison to Virat. I know the stats may tell you otherwise but if you compare their best innings , you can clearly see the difference. No batsmen in the world has as much variety of shots as ABD. I am not saying that Virat is a bad player, he is certainly the best India has got currently.

Do not follow Cricket much now but I think that A B de Villiers is also a much better package in comparison to Virat. I know the stats may tell you otherwise but if you compare their best innings , you can clearly see the difference. No batsmen in the world has as much variety of shots as ABD. I am not saying that Virat is a bad player, he is certainly the best India has got currently.

We can say Kohli is India's best batsman because he can give positive results and which is very good point for him now for current test match if he stay then they can win easily this test otherwise its not easy task for them even they need only 84 runs with 5 wickets in hand

There is no doubt that Kohli is the key if India are going to go on and win this test match. He also needs support from the other batsman to stick around or it could end very quickly for India. If India can get the win, it would give them a lot of confidence for the rest of the series however the other players will need to step up and not just leave it up to Kohli to do all the work.

Karthik and Hardik pandya can do some damage too but yeah only thing Kohli needs now is a stand . I guess its 50-50 still , if they can get out Kohli early in the 4th day then England have a great chance to win because on this pitch 84 isn't a small target with just 5 wickets left .

England won the first test match with 31 runs, upper top batsman and middle batsman still are problem for India. Leaving Kohli no other batsman were able to bat with him. Rahane failed one more time. Hope that India perform well in 2nd test match and win it.

I am glad I went for England to win today morning @ 3 . I knew if they could take Kohli out before 150 then they can win it .
Yes no other batsmen performed well but we should really appreciate Pandya too and even Ishant for his good spell .

The problem is that in non sub-continental pitches, none of the Indian batsmen other than Kohli performs well. This is one of the consequences of playing too many matches in Indian pitches (esp. IPL).

Kohli may be a great batsman, but you cannot expect him to win matches for India every time. India managed to make a mess of this one and collapsed in both innings, leading to England's victory. England dropped catches, but India could not make full use of it. In the end, the better team won.

Correct. Even though Kohli played awesome innings in the test match, India still lost the game. Awfully played by Indian middle-order (except for Kohli); they all repeated the same mistakes yet again.

Virat might have played good, but it'd have been a lot better if he had succeeded in finishing the game. Without a good finish, the performance (no matter how good it has remained) is useless.

England was all out for just 180 runs in second innings. I do agree that Kohli is a good batsman and team can't depend on one person performance. It was an expected result at least for me.

Still , Indian top order batsmen should have played better . There was hell lot of time , I feel like they played poorly with over-confidence. I don't know what's up with Rahane , he is not him right now . I hope he plays better next time because he is a great test batsmen .
