Probably in this test series this is the slowest start any team would have got that is just 198/7 in their 90 overs which means almost an average of 2 runs per over. Buttler and Broad done extra ordinary job for home team and bring back them in this match and Indian Battling line up as expected badly fail and lost all top order with 174 runs on board look like this match is also going in home way as now they can take some good lead and then in second inning if they able to done 300+ then surely its very hard for Indian Battling line up to come back in this match very poor performance from them in this all test series  is very serious concern for Indian management as they have very less time for preparing in Australian series.

For England Butler and Broad gave a good innigs that is why they were able to make 300+ runs, Butler is proven success player to involved in this test series as most of the time in this test series he has come to rescue England from difficult time. Now India needs this pair to perform well and make some runs. 3rd day first session is important as if one wicket also fell then India will get all out before 250 score. Now this last test match is in 50 50 position with England having slight high chances of winning it.

India on the wings to collapse again in this innings unless somebody in lower order help India to inch towards the England score mark which seems to be difficult now as India is behind 158 runs and only 4 wickets left.  Also England may start to feel the smell of the success in this test match itself form now.

Yet again, the lower order English batsmen frustrated the Indian bowlers. India needs somebody like Shane Warne or Waqar Younis, who can polish off the tail. The Indian batsmen seeem incapable of producing big scores on these seaming pitches.

I thought India did pretty good to get as close to England's first innings total as they could but now they must bowl well as they don't want to be chasing 350+ runs batting last on this pitch. Cook looks in good form and wouldn't it be nice to see him go out on a high with a century which he has a huge chance at getting on 46 N/O. With Cook and Root at the crease India could be in big danger if they don't get one of them out early on day 4.

A well deserved farewell for Cook from his team he is one of best batsmen England produced he has ability to play for some more time but as his form he decide good decision and retiring from team because now time for some good and positive changes can play good for their team on other hand Kohli done good job in all series but in last inning Golden Duck give some shock and Indian's now badly down and out as they need 400+ on last day with just 7 wickets in hand lest see what happen.

This is the first test match of the series which has gone into the fifth day. This is a dream farewell for Cook - a century and a well-deserved English victory. What a fantastic innings by Cook, he deserved to make a century in his last ever test match and has also put his team in a strong position to win this test match and go out on a high. I can't see India lasting tomorrow and England should win before tea unless India put up a fight. Its not really looking good for India heading into the Australia test match series starting in 3 months time as the pitches in Australia are similar to the ones in England. So it will be interesting to see how India go, they must try and gain some confidence by trying to bat well tomorrow and if they can try to get a draw.
