Premier league is going to be one of the leagues that will be late to start.
I wonder how many games are going to be played in such a short period of time in order to finish the league. Will the performance of Liverpool is going to get impacted and in the end lose the title?

I think they only need 6 points from 9 remaining games so it’s near impossible they lose the title. They have lost something like 1 game in 18 months in the Premier League so I give you more chance of Bitcoin Cash going to £1,000,000 per coin this year than anybody else winning the PL.

Liverpool's performance will not be affected as a result of this pandemic they will be more solid to win the trophy this month which has long been very desirable so from the remaining points remaining to win the EPL then liverpool will be more consistent when this outbreak occurs.
Although the game is quite slow I can't believe this liverpool will not lose the trophy this season.
I also do not know as long as the club is not playing due to this pandemic they suffer losses or not because there is no income to the club due to.

Haha, I would agree with you on that bet. I would even say it's more likely that Mr. Faketoshi Craig Wright is the real Satoshi than Liverpool loosing this title. Okay, there is no way both of the previous things will ever happen.

The later scenario seem unlikely as well. They won the league literally but unless everything is truly over then it means nothing for now. No one really knows how thing will turn out in this pandemic situation, it could be months until everything restart to where it previously was

Yeah, I totally agree. This team has to win the title. It's just simple as it it. I don't know how the officials of the EPL will do it but they have to. Just out of respect to the achievement of Jurgen Klopp boys.

It's not the coincidence. The people at the wheel I think are wiser and more appropriate to serve at their jobs and they should figure it out the proper way. The way that will serve maybe not everyone but as much people as possible. Let's hope so.

Anybody read about the recent development in the Dutch league reporting that Ajax was denied title as Dutch Eredivisie season was declared void, European places decided, no relegation. Could this also be the fate of the premier league, that Liverpool will be denied the title? Before this news, I never saw this coming from any of the leagues but now I have my doubts It'll be a disappointing outcome if Liverpool (team and fans) aren't given what they truely merited, its been over 30years they have been waiting to lift the trophy, can't just imagine what it feel like to be a Liverpool fans right now as the rumors of the uncertainty of the title draws closer.

Just like Manchester city (first title defense season), don't think Liverpool can keep up their form throughout next season to win the trophy in a grand style. The possibility of them winning the league is present but it won't be as potential spectacular as that of this season (losing just one match). That'll be a tough one as ending the season as invincible isn't something any team can do that easily.

Ajax was rejected as the title this season because of some Eredivisie constraints, wow this is very surprising where they should this season become champions and lift the trophy but it was a bitter decision because it was determined by the Dutch league officials (maybe).

I hope this does not affect Liverpool because this is a very long wait for the trophy that is waiting 30 years until now there must be obstacles because of the pandemic this year, of course as a fan will be very disappointed if the decision will be taken like ajax because I think in the next season if has recovered from covid-19 Liverpool's performance will not be like the season now.

These 2 posts are extremely at odds with each other.

We have now seen some plans for the next stages of lockdown. Some groups will gradually return to "normal" that does seem to align with the idea of football behind closed doors. Strong fit guys are probably on the lower risk list so earlier "release" possible?

It seems that the club is getting new and very rich owners and the question is whether they can buy new and quality players and create an team strong enough to win the title of champion?
If they can bring in all the players currently mentioned, the squad could look like this: Martin Dubravka; Javi Manquillo, Federico Fernandez, Jamal Lascelles, Danny Rose; John McGinn, Arturo Vidal; Allan Saint-Maximin, Gareth Bale, Solomon Rondon and Edinson Cavani.
Coach could be Mauricio Pochettino or Massimiliano Allegri.
Good enough to be the first and best in the first season?

@tomahawk, yeah I saw that Boris Johnson is thinking about letting football restart in a couple of weeks. He thinks it’ll boost the moral of the country. It will certainly boost mine

It is not the "strong fit guys" that we are worried about that closed the leagues for, it is the people around them. Normally think about the games with absolutely no lockdown, there are tens of thousands of people watching right? Well, remove all of those people and you are not left with just 22 people.

We are talking about stadium personal, the staff, the waiters, the coaching team, the doctors, the security and god knows who else I am forgetting about, so it is not really all that easy and each game has at least 50 people, probably more, plus you are risking that 50 people but at the same time you are risking all of their family as well, when one person gets it, they infect others and those others infect others. Hence why we are in lockdown right now.

I'm not as hopeful as I was a couple weeks ago tho.  And I heard the Dutch league is gonna cancel their season.  Too much risk for them.

There have been a number of meetings held by sports leaders to discuss the continuation of the league which has so far been postponed indefinitely. I think they know about the risks that will arise if the league continues in the midst of a pandemic is still quite real, even though the league continues without fans but the players and staff are people who are faced with great risk. Even though I really want the league to continue, if faced with risk I think it would be better to stop all sporting events this season and let's hope that next season can be opened.

Hell no, there's no chance Newcastle will win the premier league in the first season of the "billionaire takeover"(that's if the takeover happens) and besides the players on that "fantasy" team do not have what it takes to win the EPL imo.

Look at Manchester City, even after skeikh took over, it wasn't an instant success, they spent some seasons buying the wrong players for huge amounts. Newcastle will be content with 5th to 7th position on the table in the first season, if they get this rich owners.

At present all activities carried out openly outside the home will have risks even though they are smaller than we can think.

Standing in a line of 100 people at supermarket every 3-4 days if there is no personal protection there is a far greater risk compared to those who play on the field. As you said, if there is a free TV that can be accessed by all fans at home, then the risk may be minimized.

@coinlocket: that's been the seemingly direction English FA and the leagues will take: one stretch of 30 days, all the games played in that period behind closed doors, and no cup games. All the clubs were asked to submit their min # of ppl needed to make closed doors games happens. Can't confirm until May though. When situation is clearer.

@Globb0 Yeah to be honest I was a bit surprised by the Dutch FA too, especially when they asked the clubs to take a vote. Clubs didn't want the show to be over but the FA decided against it anyway. AZ Alkmaar probably the most pissed as they were level on points with Ajax. The "intelligent lockdown" in Netherlands was a shitty idea and now they know it.

My big question now though is, how will qualification for UEFA competitions happen? Who represents the cancelled leagues?
