June seems very optimistic to me. I guess it all depends on when the government says it's ok for sports to resume but I can't see that on the horizon anytime soon.

It was nothing more than a sugar talk to the fans. It was merely there to keep the fans to hope more for the return and also as well as to keep the atmosphere for premier league alive. Alot of expert predict that the whole pandemic could end on June/July but to get back everything to where it was could take back to almost 6 months

I dunno. I'm sure that's what they're genuinely aiming for. Fans will get even more annoyed if they keep giving dates that they can't keep. It also seems UEFA have given the domestic leagues a deadline for the CL and EL league spots:

The league is hopeful of a potential 8 June restart and finishing at the end of July to fit in with Uefa's European competition plans. This would require full training to begin by 18 May.

I think things would start to fall apart if they miss those deadlines. Maybe sports will be allowed to be played behind closed doors by then but I'm still sceptical.

Playing behind closed doors is not the normal setting of a football match, so the league may not have to wait for normalcy to be completely restored. The economy, including football has taken a big hit and would need to resume as soon as it's safe to do so but not a moment before. I've said before that jump-starting the league before we are ready could be catastrophic for the health of the players and staffs and also would have a heavy impact on the league.

I don’t think the games (behind closed doors) will be free on TV & why should they be? Sky & BT have already paid for the coverage & have existing contracts with the PL.

For boost on morale.  These are extra ordinary times we're going thru.  These company execs have to stop thinking about their pockets for now and give back to the real people who have supported the sport thru think and thin.  And it's not just a sport for most people...

I wouldnt expect alot even if the league start without any crowd at all. Alot of players are staying at home as well and they are not as fit as they was so it could be kinda lame to see they play without any intense training as usual

Anybody read about the recent development in the Dutch league reporting that Ajax was denied title as Dutch Eredivisie season was declared void, European places decided, no relegation.  

And now this; League 1&2 cancellation piles pressure on Premier League as French PM bans all sporting events until August note that they were also paying to restart the season sometime within june just as rumors are spreading everywhere about the premier planning to resume anytime soon.

The saddest part about all this recent development of cancellation of other leagues is that, the clubs that were leading the table aren't been declared champions, what's the fate of Liverpool then, will the premier league follow the footsteps of other leagues?.

With all respect to all leagues around the world but I can't compare Belgian, Dutch or even French leagues to EPL, Serie A, La Liga +/- Bundesliga.
This may influence the decision to resume or not games but if one of the major leagues is cancelled then it will have a huge impact. Still hoping to see EPL resume...

Amongst the top five leagues in the Europe, only French Ligue I was cancelled. Temporarily, it seems the French government has reacted too strong and strict with the sport events. Anyway, in life everything can happen, decisions can be made and flipped or cancelled later.

Now, we still have hope to see league resumes in England, Germany, Spain, and Italy but there are some sort of odds to see some or all of four leagues will be cancelled. Or the Ligue I will be resumed. No one knows how it will happen. In Netherlands, clubs have made request for Dutch league resume that is against government demand.

I wouldn't expect alot even if the league start without any crowd at all. Alot of players are staying at home as well and they are not as fit as they was so it could be kinda lame to see they play without any intense training as usual

Well it means that they need to have a plan in place on what they're going to do. If they don't meet it then there will probably be repercussions. I think the majority of people want the games to play on even behind closed doors but that's easier said than done as it's the government who can either allow this or shut it down. They seem to want to get the league going as soon as possible as well but it needs to be safe for everyone involved. They also wont want to give the impression of double standards to the public as it will cause a lot of issues if the country is still in lockdown meanwhile football is allowed to be played.

I've got a reliable source that says he knows someone who says bitcoin is going to 100k. This is how bulshit spreads. Some random guy on the internet knows a guy who knows a guy who says they're back at training so that must mean everything is going to go ahead. Even if some teams are back at training in some capacity (which I'm sceptical of) that doesn't mean the league is going to restart. If the players have been told something then everyone else would also know about it, especially the media. If something had been decided then it would be out there. It's not like it would be a secret either.

I’m not sure what’s happening in Spain.

Also I saw that the Dutch League may reverse their decision due to a number of clubs threatening legal action.
In Belgium the cancelled the league but crowned Bruges champions.

 Spain is literally the only one we have no idea about, rest we can assume some. If you see teams not practicing at all right now, that means it will probably be cancelled in general, there is this discussion about how leagues who are planning on coming back needs their players in some sort of conditioning that they wouldn't pull a muscle the moment they start running, so they probably want a team training to happen first, and that means tens of players together anyway with the staff and all, so if everything goes great that way without a big problem, they could return to league as well. However if they are not planning on returning at all, they are also not planning on scheduling team practices neither and won't allow it. Premier league does allow team practices in some places, which means I sense it will definitely return, maybe not right away but eventually.

Yeah, I would believe that the games will resume behind the close doors with just some camera crew and no fans at all.

The reason why some nations cancelled and some didn't is mainly political, some governments just wanted to make sure that they didn't get anyone killed, if you overreact to a pandemic nobody could ever possibly blame you (well somehow even THAT happened but I don't know why the hell did that happened) because that way you are protecting people, sure maybe you are overprotective but at least your excuse is understandable, if you let teams play however, that means as soon as one of them gets the virus or something goes wrong you are in big trouble. Hence, I understand governments who cancelled but I would love the leagues back as well.

Premier league seems to be one of the latest championships that is going to be continued.
In my opinion, players are going to start trainings at least the individual ones in the near future but the games are going to start again probably end of May - start of June.

Everything will depend on clubs being able to create a “return to play” protocol that is approved by the government and its heath advisers. That is thought to include plans for players and officials being placed in lockdown at nominated hotels for up to six weeks. Each one would then travel to the stadium along a “sterile route” from the hotel before being tested. Every venue would also have strict limits on the number of people allowed to be present; some estimate that a minimum of 300 including officials, staff and media would be required at every game.

Does anyone think that this sort of stuff just isn't realistic? Staying at hotels and travelling sterilised routes? I think even if things did go ahead like this it could easily end in disaster. 300 people at a game minimum? That seems like a lot. I was thinking there'd just be the teams, coaching staff, match officials and a handful of staff for the venue and TV broadcasts. I'm struggling to see how they'll play anything unless the virus dies down drastically. You can sterilise the hotels and balls all you want but that doesn't stop the players from sweating, breathing and sneezing on each other. Will be kind of ridiculous if they're wearing face masks. If things are still that bad then they probably just shouldn't be playing as much as I'd like to see play resume.
