Germany has been an inspiration for the EPL to resume. They have made the right decision and now we have a date for the first matches. Aston Villa vs. Sheffield United and Manchester City vs. Arsenal (June 17 without fans in attendance.)Without a doubt, the return of football to the field will make us happy again. We must get used to a new normal until we have a cure for the coronavirus. https://edition.cnn.com/2020/05/28/football/english-premier-league-return-spt-intl/index.html@verita1 only few days to go before we see the premier league in action, and of course we all are happy that it’s resuming again, but I do hope that the league manages to put artificial fans noise on tv for us otherwise it’ll be really boring watch the league matches. when they won CL in 2010, it was such a boring football with Milito ahead, just playing on contra attacks, after that other teams recognized that play style, and do not think that he will won much in the future
I think you feel boring at that time because you aren't Inter fans. Personally, I have no problem with the way of Mourinho's football style. Each coach has their own way to win a match, even they must play contra-attacks. You aren't in his position, so you don't feel the pressure on how to be a coach at a big club. I'm sure you probably do the same way if you are Mourinho. To deal with a club playing ball-possession like Barca, contra-attacks is the right choice. I only have a little problem with the characteristic of Mourinho. He is typically a person with arrogant and too confident nature. Also, he is not really flexible to rotate the player composition. I remembered he was in Real Madrid, he almost set the same players in all matches. And always Benzema as the striker. It is a too rigid strategy for a modern football. @kawetsriyanto back then Mourinho was the Special one but he’s lost his way since then, and now he has to rebuild his reputation right from the start at Tottenham or he’ll never be appointed by the big clubs like Real Madrid, PSG etc. Sources: https://www.fourfourtwo.com/news/special-one-smiling-one-a-look-jose-mourinhos-unveilingshttps://www.ft.com/content/56acdd82-02d2-11e9-99df-6183d3002ee1https://www.standard.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league-project-restart-fifa-20-fake-crowd-noise-a4455766.html#gsc.tab=0https://onefootball.com/en/news/why-jose-mourinho-is-already-a-failure-at-tottenham-28847534

Nowadays most of club investors aren't that patient to wait few seasons to get their first title for the team they invest. That's why there are many clubs that still want to hire him no matter the last record and reputation he had in his last team.
Yup, agreed. The problem that these owners do not see is that football has moved past Mourinho and has left him behind. He was a great reactive coach - a master in playing it boring and waiting for a few good counterattacking opportunities. He even played counterattack with Real in Spain. Why it worked? He said it the best. I had to adapt to a new world. To what young players are now,” he told France Football. I had to understand the difference between working with a boy like Frank Lampard, who, at the age of 23 was already a man, who thought football, work, professionalism, and the new boys who at the age of 23 are kids. Today I call them ‘boys’ not ‘men’. Because I think that they are brats and that everything that surrounds them does not help them in their life nor in my work.
When he lost the opportunity to create 11 fighters, he lost a lot of his edge. One thing all his teams had was leaders - everywhere on the pitch. Nowadays that's practically impossible and his rudimental old tactics are exploited.

The world doesnt revolve around him and he cant be on the top everytime. IMO, the only reason why his strategy is not working out nowadays is because he doesnt really change and adapt like most coach. He keep almost the same thing and all other club would be able to counter it after watching most of his game

I’m not even sure if fans will be able to attend for much of next season. Some of the smaller clubs might go bust with the money from gate receipts.

Just read that Timo Werner is going to sign for Chelsea as the deal is almost done. This is a great signing for Chelsea as their front line is going to be strengthened. Not to mention that this is a good investment as the player is still young and can stay in the club for a lot of years. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/52928359

Yup, totally agree. I'm just saying that with him it was always about more than just tactics. He went for tough men, experienced fighters, had them in all clubs. Footballers like these are rare nowadays, practically non-existent, so it's one more thing that he misses. Klopp and Guardiola will manage with kids, Mourinho will never be able to. But yeah, that's a part of not changing and adapting as well. I think he will be a solid part-time solution at Spurs, but he's not the right man for a club that's expecting results on a tight budget. Their striker options are truly horrible, but I think Werner is the opposite of what they need.

Liverpool announced their first three fixtures. Scouse derby the first game back then playing City away in the third game: Palace game should be easy enough for them but the other two away probably won't be. They only need to win two games I believe to clinch the title. Will they manage it within the first three? ^ It's better than nothing. I miss watching grown men run the ball around. Lolol. Anyway you guys think mext season is will start too? I'm not so hopeful tbh. I think these last few fixtures could the last ones we'll enjoy til next year. IMHO. Last I read the plan is to start the next season as normal, but I guess things could change once this one is completed. Having an entire season behind closed doors could cause a lot of financial difficulties for clubs, but then again not playing also would. Maybe they'll start to televise more games to make up for lost revenues.

Bring it on, it’s only a matter of time until we’re crowned champions. I’ve been waiting a long time for this, just such a shame I can’t be there to see us lift the trophy. I had a ticket for the Chelsea game which is the last home game when we would have been presented with the trophy.

I'm sure they able to secure 6 points in their first two games since Alisson is fit for the games. In otherwise, City would be in more difficult situation since they have to play against Arsenal, Burnley, and Chelsea before meet Liverpool. Must be hard for Pep to prepare his squad and he might lose some point in those games. Btw, on Sportsbet the odds on Man City vs Arsenal is @1.36 for City, @7.40 for Arsenal, and @5.20 for draw result. Arsenal is rising indeed under Arteta, but not sure they could win over City. The result might be at least draw or win for City.

It's quite obvious that Arsenal might loose the match against city, I don't see Arsenal performing a miracle at Etihad stadium, a draw also ain't certain what Arsenal needs to do is to try as much as possible not to conceed up to 4 goals so as not to demoralized their spirit in next couple of matches From another angle, anyone can actually win the tie for the few weeks. The match between arsenal and manchester city will not be a tie that is about good players, it will be judged by the fitter team. There will be surprises once the EPL commences, and it is one i am eager to be watch.

Hey at least you got a title after 30 years! Be happy with what you got Do we know when the transfer window opens and when the next season starts? I have only seen this years deals but didn't see anything about next year at all. I mean looking at the situation I think they could keep it the way it is without changing anything, but since there is no talks about it I don't know if they already changed something or they are thinking about it or they are not going to at all. If there is a transfer window change that could be helpful for the teams as well because if you postpone transfer window, they could at least play these games and have time to calculate all the costs of pandemic when the league is over (which would be a better understanding of their finances) and that way they could buy players differently.

Klopp took over that role from Mourinho, look at all the transfers Klopp made, he didn't spend too much money on Dortmund at all and he took that team to a level they never imagined. He is at Liverpool now and he didn't really spend too much money on transfers there neither (except goalkeeper) and he took them to one champions league finals, one premier league second finish, one champions league title and soon a premier league title.
Mourinho used to be like that, give him a team and he doesn't require any transfers, just make him play that team and he would have found a way to get the most out of them. Nowadays football is not as defensive as Mourinho likes to play so he is not getting the success he used to get, his system was perfect against the high volume passing teams like 2010 Barcelona type, but nowadays it is not working as well as it used to.

The odds on sportsbet is not giving any chance to Arsenal to win this game, they see city as clear favorites and I don't know why tbh. City were not in excellent form before the EPL stopped and even if they were, after so long without football, I cannot pick a favorite team to win between this two 'big' teams as this is their first match in two months. @7.40 odds on Arsenal to win is a good bet that I'm seriously considering

What? Mourinho spent loads of money everywhere he went. Chelsea - 200 million in the first 2 years, that was in 2005 when it was the same as spending 1 billion. Inter - 60 million the 1st season, also like 200 million in today's money. Real - almost 100 million in the 1st season United - 300 million in 2 seasons I'm talking net spend here, so these are losses after we calculate sold players. Except Guardiola, I do not know a single manager that was given the same money to spend as Mourinho. To be honest, I think he outspends everybody else by a mile. He's exactly the opposite of a guy who does not need transfers to have a successful team.

Due to this changes the number of players allowed on the bench has been raised from seven to nine. These changes should be in effect at least till the end of the season.
Even though they did this to have more fresh legs for the congested schedule ahead, I don't think having more players on the bench is the best step when it comes to dealing with the virus.
but football that he exercise is not football that i like to watch, it is too boring,
Indeed. - He loves "parking the bus".

I wouldn't be so sure about that... - Both haven't played a competitive game for a long time and AFAIK, Arsenal started their training ahead of City [might have a better preparation going into the game].

Stats do not lie us. Both Mourinho and Pep are not the kind of managers who can build up a strong team from scratch and win titles. I think they can because Mourinho did it with Porto and he even brought Porto to UEFA and Champions League's cups. However, when they became famous and their reputation are high, they only want to have huge transfer funds to get instant success. Only Diego Simeone of A. Madrid seems to be a manager who can and want to build up a strong team with limited transfer fund. I don't know Simeone changed his style since the transfer of Joao Felix or not and we need to wait for next 1 or 2 transfer season to see how his transfer and management styles change.

In case you forget, Arsenal has Arteta now who worked with Pep since Pep's arrival in Man City until last year. Of course it doesn't guarantee Arsenal to win, but it's not same Arsenal that struggled hardly in the first half of season. If Wolves and Man United able to beat them in Etihad, then there is a chance for Arsenal too. @7.40 odds on Arsenal to win is a good bet that I'm seriously considering Yeah same with me. I think the odds for double chance @2.85 for Arsenal or Draw sounds fair enough lol.

Due to this changes the number of players allowed on the bench has been raised from seven to nine. These changes should be in effect at least till the end of the season.
Even though they did this to have more fresh legs for the congested schedule ahead, I don't think having more players on the bench is the best step when it comes to dealing with the virus.
I don't really get why they did this. Doesn't really make sense to me. What's the disadvantage in having three subs in the current climate? It's certainly going to give a disadvantage to teams with weaker squads/benches. It's also going to lead to more time-wasting like we already see with clubs often bringing on 1 or 2 subs towards the end of the game just to run the clock down. Now we'll be seeing 2 or 3 subs as standard being made, maybe even more. Palace game should be easy enough for them but the other two away probably won't be. They only need to win two games I believe to clinch the title. Will they manage it within the first three?
I'm sure they able to secure 6 points in their first two games since Alisson is fit for the games. In otherwise, City would be in more difficult situation since they have to play against Arsenal, Burnley, and Chelsea before meet Liverpool. Must be hard for Pep to prepare his squad and he might lose some point in those games. Well you would think or expect that, but the first game back being the derby might not be easy, especially away. Maybe they lose or draw that, beat Palace, then lose to City, which wouldn't surprise me with it being away. They're all games I'll be watching though. Liverpool might start to panic if they lose all three of them

The Everton game won’t be as tough as it would normally, they normally have an angry, bitter, hostile crowd baying for blood. With an empty stadium it’s not going to be anywhere close to how tough it normally is at Goodison. My prediction is we beat Everton & Palace & wrap it up before we go to City away. It won’t he much different for City to play in front of no fans, they’re used to it at The Etihad
