Well you would think or expect that, but the first game back being the derby might not be easy, especially away. Maybe they lose or draw that, beat Palace, then lose to City, which wouldn't surprise me with it being away. They're all games I'll be watching though. Liverpool might start to panic if they lose all three of them ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) Haha but since it's just 1.4 kms away from Anfield, there is no home advantage on this derby for Everton. Like what LFC_ said, their fans are crazy indeed, but none of them would be in the stadium. And yeah, Liverpool is well known as a team that easily being panic in the rest of Premier League season lol. Hope they dont ruin it this time. Wut? You're telling me playing at home isn't an advantage in a derby? Since when is proximity a factor in home advantage? It's England. Why would playing ten miles away or one hundred miles matter? You're not playing in a different country with a different climate. Home advantage matters whether the stadiums are empty or next door to each other.

There’s a German team that are charging fans a small fee to have cardboard cut outs in the stadium with the fans face on. Now that is pretty weird.

Nah. Empty stadium isn't scary for everyone even in derby. I expected an intense match on Der Klassiker in Bundesliga (yeah it isn't England) few weeks ago but it's not as exciting as when they play in full stadium. Long distance does matter because the trip duration would take their time that could be used for some useful thing like training or something else ![Tongue](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/tongue.gif) Nothing scarier than playing on cold rainy night in Stoke.

What? Mourinho spent loads of money everywhere he went. Chelsea - 200 million in the first 2 years, that was in 2005 when it was the same as spending 1 billion. Inter - 60 million the 1st season, also like 200 million in today's money. Real - almost 100 million in the 1st season United - 300 million in 2 seasons
I'm talking net spend here, so these are losses after we calculate sold players.
Except Guardiola, I do not know a single manager that was given the same money to spend as Mourinho. To be honest, I think he outspends everybody else by a mile.
He's exactly the opposite of a guy who does not need transfers to have a successful team.
Stats do not lie us. Both Mourinho and Pep are not the kind of managers who can build up a strong team from scratch and win titles. I think they can because Mourinho did it with Porto and he even brought Porto to UEFA and Champions League's cups. However, when they became famous and their reputation are high, they only want to have huge transfer funds to get instant success. Only Diego Simeone of A. Madrid seems to be a manager who can and want to build up a strong team with limited transfer fund. I don't know Simeone changed his style since the transfer of Joao Felix or not and we need to wait for next 1 or 2 transfer season to see how his transfer and management styles change. Uh sir...? I think you're forgetting somebody? This guy is Mauricio Pochettino. He says hello. ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) ![](https://ip.bitcointalk.org/?u=https%3A%2F%2Fi.imgur.com%2F3aqNTtV.jpg&t=663&c=7VShkT4dwmGtqw) Kidding... But yeah not taking anything away from Simeone. He's obv a good manager.

I think the only reason why home really matters is fans and all the travelling, but right now its not both of them so I don't know. Normally when you are playing at home, you just go to stadium, be in your locker room that is literally there for half of the seasons games and you are used to it, you can take a bath at the place you prefer, you can suit up wherever you like to, you could basically do all the small things that really help you get in the groove and on the road you can't do those things, that could be the only difference. However normally fans do matter a lot, when you get shouted at by 50k people that HAS TO affect you, even if you are a multi million dollar earning player, and going from one place to another is usually takes a plane ride and that takes time and uncomfortable as well, neither of those two things are available here at all.

Yeah, I agree that the fans support and pressure on the referee do make the most of the home advantage, traveling is a part as well. But a huge part is also the pitch dimension, grass height and speed. For example, Barcelona always puts sprinklers on before games. Most of the clubs that play fast and on the ground nowadays do. Some other clubs that like the physical side of the game will let the grass grow to slow the game down and will not water the pitch as much. The ball is then more bouncy and harder to control which makes it harder for good clubs to play their game.

I read that the Danish superleague already did this with Zoom! I saw the pictures, basically fans could tune into the zoom app beamed onto the stadium big pitch screen and random fans celebrating were highlighted. Looked quite good but probably nobody to see it. I think it could become a really good feature for future. But yes, imagine every seat has a virtual dummy that acts like you controlling it from another space?

Chelsea received good news ahead of the return of the 2019/20 English League, players who were previously absent due to injury have returned to training and have the potential to immediately return to the starting XI, say Christian Pulisic, Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Tammy Abraham, who have collected 15 this season goal.
The club, which is headquartered at Stamford Bridge, is indeed showing a pretty good performance in the 2019/20 season, they now occupy the position of four standings with 48 points.
A number of important matches have been waiting for Frank Lampard's squad, after challenging Aston Villa on June 21, they will also meet Manchester City and Leicester City in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

How does the transfer market work now? For example, if Chelsea manages to sign Werner, the transfer would happen after the end of the season, right?
It would be a bit unfair if Werner (or any other new player) was allowed to play in the current campaign. Also, Leipzig is still fighting for the CL, I can't imagine letting him go before their season ends. But their season will end a lot earlier than in Premier league.

League Two have cancelled their season: https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/52705124Championship has agreed on what to do if the season is ended early: Final divisional placings will be determined on unweighted points per game (if required). Promotion and relegation should be retained. Play-Offs will be played in all circumstances but will not be extended (beyond four teams). I wonder if the PL have discussed what will happen if they have to stop the season again? How does the transfer market work now? For example, if Chelsea manages to sign Werner, the transfer would happen after the end of the season, right?

They almost certainly won't be able to play until next season starts. They have to finish their own domestic leagues first.

I think most PL teams wouldn't mind to let Liverpool win the title in case league completely stopped, but it's quite confusing on the relegation system. Crowning Liverpool as the current top team surely would affect the bottom three, leads them to be relegated to Championship. Sounds bit unfair imo.

do any of you follow Manchester City ban case? what's going on there, is there anything new? I mean, it can be important for PL and many things, not only a CL places on the table. If they are banned from European competition, I guess PL also must punish them, and there they are in transgression. Some more severe punishment could seriously disrupt them in the years to come, even if I don't like this club, I would like them to remain in full force in the coming period.

Man City are appealing the 2 year ban, the issue is what if they win the CL this season? How can you ban the reigning champions for next season's competition? I don’t think they could do that. Latest on it - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/football/52956259

Latest on it - http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/amp/football/52956259I don't think it is impossible. Years ago, the champions of World Cup, Euro had priviledges to reserve a slot for next World Cups or Euros. Recent years, we had changes that champions also have to play qualifying rounds and their reserved slots no longer existed. The same things can be applied with Champions League or Europa league too. For Manchester City case, it will be a sudden and special case (for the first time in history of Champions League) if they win the title this season and will be banned next season because of transfer violations.

It is not something UEFA will like to do, but if City wins the UCL this season, they will not be able to defend their title next season, except if they can win their appeal. The competition will of course look strange without the defending champions (if city become champions) but it won't make sense if city participates when serving a two year ban, are they going to serve the ban in the next two seasons after that, what if they become champions again ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif) . The best thing is for them to serve the ban at the appropriate time imo. Check this source: Why have man city been banned...

With the appeal submitted to the court I think Mancity will still try to get its position but if this season the UCL title has been achieved perfectly then I think people are a bit strange in the next season without UCL qualifications without a defending champions club. But Mancity must be able to accept decisions from UEFA because those decisions are independent of what they say so Mancity must be able to convince this season to become the UCL champion.

I think I mentioned it before but it works both ways. Positive and negative. If your fans love you good. If they hate you? You know for sure supporters make a difference when you have a lot of them. For small teams maybe they do not feel it, unless the fans are close to the pitch where the sounds are louder, but try entering a huge stadium with tens of thousands of fans shouting and the feeling is electric for fans,,, imagine what it feels like for players!
