Any fix for a wallet that just hangs?
Version 5.0.0 - says 'Loading' for about 5 minutes, then goes to a black screen. No option to login.
Tried reinstalling, no luck.

fyi - I did try removing amsterdamcoin in roaming - this did not fix the issue of the whole wallet loading. Updating Java seemed to fix my issue - able to launch now.

Also unable to open AMS.  Did all the various types of 'cures' to no effect.  Running V5.0.0.  Java, Brave & Win10 all up to date.

Well the uninstall works very well.  Perhaps when or if the the Dev bothers to fix the issues with the wallet, I might decide to reload it.

My wallet still won't load even after doing what some members have posted here. I've always been a big supporter here but I do think its unfair for the ones who can't get their wallets to load as we are missing out on staking rewards. Hopefully we get a fix soon from Kees.

Under Ubuntu, I made it work again by deleting the folder /var/tmp/.net/Stratis.AmsterdamCoinD

i had ( have ) same issue..  my windows fucked the wallet up, so i installed on a diff. comp and  voila its working like a charm...

so if your known on windows enviroment, try to delete everything( also on register) .. and install it from scratch ....
 becarefull with your wallet.dat ( in this case *.wallet.json)

I deleted everything and tried reinstall the wallet a couple of days ago.
It didn't work at the time, so  I gave up and decided to wait.
I just tried to start the wallet today and it is working now.
Guess it just takes very long time.

Well I'll give this a try and see what happens, the thing that doesn't make sense to me is that I have my Solaris wallet which is the same wallet as the new AMS wallet working perfectly so I'm thinking that there could be a bug in the AMS wallet causing this as after the Windows update my Solaris wallet is still working perfectly and staking but not such luck with AMS.

The swap should be still working as we still have over 1 month to swap. My coins took a while to show up in the new wallet when I swapped as sometimes the new coins need to be refilled for the swap. We really need Kees here to help answer all the issues currently going on.Clearly there is something wrong with the new wallet as there are so many of us having sync problems and the wallets not loading. Even in the Discord server I am seeing all these questions but no one can answer them because we are yet to hear from Kees about the issues, hopefully we get an update from him soon.

What was the problem?
The old blockchain stalled because masternode payments were enforced while there was no masternode active in the network. All proof of stake blocks were rejected and the chain got stuck for about 4 days.

How did you solve it?
I started the wallet using the spork key which allowed me to disable the enforcement of masternode payments. With a modified wallet I was able to create a new block through proof of stake. After that, all available nodes started staking again and the blockchain is rolling again.

What about missing swaps?
All missing swaps should be paid automatically by the swap service on Txbit Exchange. If this is not the case for you then let me know. Just drop me a PM here on the forum, or create a support ticket on Txbit Exchange.

I'm glad to hear that everything with the old wallet is fixed however what about the new wallet not loading for some of us. Is there going to be a fix for this in the next wallet update as I don't have this problem with the Solaris wallet and its the same code base so the AMS wallet should work also but its not loading now as it seems stuck on loading. There must be a bug like you said in the start up of the AMS wallet and this needs to be looked into by the dev.
