I am afraid that if everybody is holding bitcoins, transactions will decrease and there won't be a bitcoin economy
I think your wrong, if everyone holds bitcoins then less bitcoins will trade in the market and buyers increase then price will automatically increase. And when its price hit US$300 people will sell some of their bitcoin, then the price will be decreased again. There is just a little chance for its price will reach atleast US$500 for next 2 years imo. Your correct but now with all the new bad news about bitcoins it looks even longer time to reach that 500 level. interesting to see what people believed 1 year ago... $500 in 2017 should be possible. |

So are you holding your bitcoins for future events such as halving or you more like to spend your bitcoins when you get it? I personally like to spend it for digital goods usually...

I'm not really holding my bitcoins. I am getting them, and spending them when I need to spend them. Otherwise, if I don't see a need to spend them somewhere, I won't.

Getting more value from a higher price is something we all want right? |

i try. but i struggle hard to keep them in my wallet since is so easy to send to dice site or on any exchange.
Instead of spending all your bitcoins for your dice gambling, you can split your bitcoin holdings into some of small parts. You must invest only some small portions into an exchange or to a gambling site. Rest must be into your holding for price increase in future. Just a suggestion.... |

We can do a lot of things with bitcoin such as trading, investing and mining while we are waiting for the rising of its value. I'm holding my BTC too and at the same time I accumulates some of them through services. So as the price go higher and makes profitable.
At this time we have to hold our coins as everyone is sure that the halving will bring a big profit for all of us, and we should not have to consider it the only way of earning but we have to search for all other ways of earnings also and have to benefit from them also. |

I'm just waiting for the price of bitcoin to soar and probably be very patient I'm not selling until it's over 5000$ though and will probably buy back when not drops. Im hoping to be able to make some profit on bitcoin bubbles.

Absolutely a wise move to make. Holding a lot of bitcoin will make you a rich somehow. Halving is near just a few months to make. or invest your bitcoin while you wait. In that way it can increase your bitcoin. just don't be scammed or you will loose hope on that.  Bitcoin investment is much more complex than real currency... Just be careful not to loose. It's hard to get a lot of bitcoins now, earning will take a lot of time anyway also buying coins is so expensive for many people anyway. But even with one coin i guess we can make good money. So hold is profitable anyway. |

Yeah you're right, we have our different reason why we are here, why we are collecting bitcoins. For me price is important because one of the value itself is to make profit, btc is a currency indeed. This is like a business to me as investing. So while I'm waiting for halving, I make sure that I keep on gaining satoshis.
