Obviously Atalanta is a good club. They have been playing very well lately. Apart from any star players, the performance they are performing is truly commendable. But we could not compare Atalanta with Atletico Madrid. Atletico Madrid is a very experienced club. And composed of experienced and skilled players.

Atalanta's performance is seasonal that's why they are unpredictable to be classified among the best club or not, sometimes Atalanta plays a perfect football in a season and become worst in other season, they aren't consistent in their winnings at all and they sometimes loss heavily by conceding high goals unlike Atletico Madrid who hardly concede goals but win with little goal margin.

Well Atalanta is a middle class team for many years before just competing to survive now they have bought small players and turned them into something huge you cannot expect Atalanta to buy superstars when their budget is 10x lower then for example from Inter or Juventus. Congrats to them because they are at top level for many years already.

Atalanta is uncomparable with Sevilla too but I would like to see them have a same growth as Sevilla and Atletico Madrid. It will be good for Serie A generally but they will need to have a stability in their coach and sport director positions.

Atletico Madrid has many years with only Simeone as a coach and Sevilla has Monchi. They are valuable brains for their successes and Atalanta should learn from those two clubs, then build up their long term plans. Players come and go but brains of the club should be kept.

Atalanta and Sassuolo are the most exciting clubs in Serie A recent years. They are not big clubs but have some good and young players. Some of them moved to bigger clubs like Inter Milan, AS Roma and they are the future of Italian national team.

Sassuolo don't have big success like Atalanta but I don't underestimate them.

I don't think Atalanta will last that long. In France, Lyon became the champion for 7 years in a row, but now they are only fighting to get into the Champions League. With Max Juventus can get the Scudetto in a next season but they will not easily get it. Inter Milan might likely have a downside but AC Milan will grow more. Also other clubs can bring more challenge to Juventus. They might not be strong enough to fight for the Scudetto but can steal points from Juventus and contribute to the competition between Juve and Milan.

Atalanta need to have good substitutes for their players in their squad. They will leave the club some days. The most impressive things I saw from Atalanta in the past season is not because they ended it at third position. It is how they kept up their good works without Papu Gomez.
