At the start of this season, Juventus was competing with Inter Milan for the Scudetto title, but I don't know what happened to Juventus to lose control of the Scudetto title race. It is now too late for Juventus to compete for the Scudetto because Inter Milan is leading Juventus with 20 points. Even AC Milan, which is in second place in the Serie A table, cannot compete with Inter Milan because Inter Milan is leading them with 14 points. 

At the start of the season, Juventus' performance looks more convincing so they have the opportunity to compete for the Scudetto with Inter Milan. However, over time, Juventus' performance declined slightly so that they fell further behind Inter Milan at the top of the standings. It is no longer possible for Juventus to catch up on the points that Inter Milan has collected because currently, Inter Milan is so comfortable at the top of the standings.

Juventus just need to maintain their current position and they need to play more consistently to qualify for the Champions League next season, although finishing in the top four at the end of the season will also qualify. If they fail to maintain consistency then Bologna will be a threat to Juventus because currently they are only four points apart.

I agree with you that Juventus can't rival Inter Milan for the Scudetto title this season because of their point difference in the league table. Also, Inter Milan is not looking weak; they are winning their matches in the Serie A table, which makes it hard for them to get a rival this season. Just as you said, Juventus should focus on maintaining their current position in the league table so that Bologna will not overtake them.

Although the points gap between AC Milan and Juventus is less, with Inter Milan there is a considerable gap between Milan and Juventus. Even if Inter Milan lose seven of their next seven matches, there is no doubt that they will win the title this season. Inter Milan didn't waver from their consistent performances but AC Milan and Juventus just couldn't maintain their consistency. 

The Italian league will now only compete for the second and third positions in the points table where any team including Milan and Juventus who are second and third in the points table can secure those places.
