Denzel Dumfries' departure that they're yet to replace I think will be a major setback for them next season as they fight to retain the Scudetto. Inter Milan are surely my favourites to win the Italian Serie A again but I also think that AC Milan will likely be pushing for the title now that Ruben Amorim is at the club

Dumfries away from Inter is a hard blow, because a player perhaps not technically perfect but with truly remarkable explosiveness and leg strength, and not having someone with these characteristics penalizes you a bit, AC Milan with Amorim can rediscover its true identity and create a game that works, hoping it doesn't end up like last year which also filled the fans with chatter and then in the end it was a disappointment compared to expectations.

I won't have high expectations for AC Milan with their new coach because I think it will be difficult for a new coach to adapt immediately and make major changes. Everything takes time and process, and that's also true for Amorim with AC Milan.
As for Inter Milan, I think they will remain as they have always been. They are the favorites to win the Scudetto again, regardless of who comes and goes, because I believe this team already has a very strong team structure.
It's actually too early to say who the favorite is. Napoli could deliver another top-level performance, and so could other teams. In recent years in the Italian league, we've seen teams close in points until the final weeks. Some results in the final weeks determine the champion. Inter played well last year, but the year before that they lost the championship in the final week. This year, teams that have made good transfers will be strong contenders for the Scudetto.

When an elite team like Inter Milan loses a main player, they're suppose to scout the market and bring in a well fitted replacement for that outgoing player because his presence and contributions to the team will no longer be there, but Inter Milan are just relaxed thinking they can win the scudetto again, that's not going to be an easy run for them because they know what they gotten themselves in.

Dumfries was one of my favorite defender in Seria A and the day I admire his qualities as a defender was when he deliver a masterclass against Barcelona in the UEFEA Champions League, he prove himself beyond every reasonable doubt and got elite teams opening links to sign him. Dumfries departure will surely create a vacuum space in Inter Milan and we know his importance in the backline.

I don't want to go too far but Italian football is dying now
no one invests in young Italians
Nobody trains them, makes them play or makes them strong, they just don't care and that's how we are reduced
buy foreign players, spend a lot of money and ruin Italian football

Exactly, mate, you’ve hit the nail on the head regarding the current problem facing the Italian league and the Italian national team.
They’d rather invest in young foreign talent than in the Italian youth system, but why?
Apparently, no one knows.
I hope that one day they’ll make it compulsory to field young Italian players in every Serie A match.
For example, there would always have to be at least three outfield players from the youth system on the pitch.

Although Inter and Juventus both have reserve teams in Lega Pro, none of their players are making it into the first team. This saddens me greatly because it’s a waste of money.

The decision to have at least three Italian players on the pitch is not a solution in my opinion. They implemented something similar in Turkey, but it resulted in some Turkish players being transferred at undeservedly high prices. The result in Italy would be exactly the same. The important thing is to invest in youth development and quickly integrate players into the main squad. From what I've seen in recent years, Spanish teams do this very well, especially Barcelona.

I was truly delighted to learn that Nico Paz, who had been rumored to be re-signed by Real Madrid, had actually chosen to stay longer at Como. And Como really worked hard to retain this star player. As a result, Como ultimately signed Nico Paz on a permanent basis for 60 million euros.

However, Real Madrid could still re-sign him next season, as they’re still interested in him. But I doubt Como will let him go again. Como will certainly do everything they can to prevent him from returning to Real Madrid, because I think he’s irreplaceable at Como.

For now, Como has also been active in the transfer market, signing four new players so far. They are:

1. Luis Milla
2. Andrés Cuenca
3. Mattia Liberali
4. Kaiki.

Como is also trying to sign Joshua Zirkzee and Davinson Sánchez. What’s interesting about Como is that they target players who aren’t heavily pursued by the big clubs. But the results we consistently see show that Como always succeeds in selecting the right players.

Yes we can all agree that Mancini is way better than Prilo, but we also all know that Italy needs fresh things and Mancini is part of the old football so i dont know what to really think, for me both of them are not the right option for the italian federation, they need to start to look outside if they dont have any good coach around, but seems like their patriotic proud is making them stick with Italian coachs.
Look, I've been a huge Mancini fan, but he is good finding players that many other "experts" don't even know who they are. And Italy have several young players who are very promising, such as:
  • Mattia Liberali
  • Christian Comotto
  • Luca Reggiani
  • Samuele Inacio
  • Michael Kayode
  • Giovanni Leoni
  • Gianluca Okon
  • Pantaleo Creti
  • Andrea Natali
  • Federico Coletta
  • Alessandro Crimaldi
  • Guido Della Rovere

If I'm not wrong, they were all born between 2007 and 2009, only Leoni was born in 2006.

    • Giovanni Leoni

If I'm not wrong, they were all born between 2007 and 2009, only Leoni was born in 2006.

The most promising prospect for the Italian national team and for Mancini is undoubtedly Giovanni Leoni. He is a young, all round footballer whose main strengths is in his anticipation, physical strength and marking ability. He reminds me a lot of Maldini, he’s as brilliant as the old Paolo was. I remember when he was playing for Parma and marked Lukaku, he put in a huge performance.

Maybe not pinning hopes on Como, but more like curiosity to see how they perform against other experienced teams, we already know how they play in Serie A but in the Champions League the situation is very different. I just checked Como's transfer records for this season and didn't find anything special, even I was a bit surprised when they brought in Álvaro Morata for 12 Million I don't know what they are planning with this 33 year old player even though there should still be other better options at the same cost. Could Cesc Fàbregas see it from another side? for example experience

To me the como gives the impression of a team that plays with experience even if in the competition due to its history we can clearly see that this is not the case, but the game that it brings to the series will certainly also take it to the champions league and for me it can do very well, now i don't want to say that it will reach the final but it will certainly fight tooth and nail.

We do know that there are a few of them that will definitely be contending for being the champions of their league when the time comes but for now we are just speculating though I would say that Inter seems to be in a really good place to win, they've got some pretty solid competition though so it's not like they are just going to walk over everyone else, if they really want to win they will have to put all or their efforts in on winning.

Italy is currently going through a crisis, and it's evident in its squad, and a few good players won't be enough to win trophies. Italy went through something similar once, when they began introducing restrictions on the number of foreign players in Serie A teams, and that began to improve the situation, but now those restrictions are gone. I'd like to believe that Mancili can improve the Italian national team's performance, but leading any team out of a crisis is no easy task.

The more you look less at home, the more you empower people outside and the more you downplay the talented players within. I hope the Italian managements will understand the harm this might be causing the relevance of their indigenous players. It is not what happen in a day or a year, it is something which happens over a long period of time. The likes of Roberto Baggio and Maldini, all these hall of fame players are no longer the names we use to hear again and the replacements are no longer as popular too. Just imagine Italy could not even perform at the 2026 FIFA world cup because they failed to qualify and these are all the ripple effect to the longstanding problems you have talked about.

There are clubs that some newspapers have unmasked where managers get paid to get their children into the squad, perhaps in the spring, they do it for the money but in reality they damage football irremediably, because by doing so they deprive a potential player of coming forward. and this is precisely what i are talking about, national Italian football, should start from these things.

Regarding Diouf in particular, they paid 25 million to sign him as a centre-forward and stuck him at the right wing-back. That is weird right? That is a deliberate choice. And for most of the half he looked lost. Touches all in the wrong zones, could not find the game.

Then he scores twice from outside the box in stoppage time and all is forgotten that he was looking uncomfortable for 44 minutes. I do not think that is the story though. I believe that Chivu is trying out something. He desires that that right side is inverted, cut inward, generate from half space. It is a project. Diouf even said himself after the match he needs to take it step by step adapting to a new role.

It could have been the other way around. But who remembers the results of the preseason in October? Nobody. They will remember if Diouf was able to figure out that position or not.

And if he does? With Bastoni and Dimarco already owning the left side and now you add a technical ball-carrier on the right who can also just... hit those from distance? To all of Serie A, good luck.

Since we are talking about pre-season friendlies, we cannot talk about matches played with maximum commitment, but rather about matches to test new roles and new approaches, in addition to the players who often remain on the bench, diouf and difficult to classify because last season already did not seem convincing and then echoed the goal that overturned the opinion.

The fans frenzy about Italian football seems to have died down. I honestly do not know why but if I'm to tell, I'll say it's because of their poor outings in the UEFA Champions League competition in recent years.

Again, the big clubs in Italy aren't signing the known big stars. The competition in the league has reduced so most football fans aren't too excited about Italian football again.

It's 16 years already since an Italian club won the UCL, breaking that jinx next season will surely draw people's attention back to a league that used to be the most talked about in Europe.

Unfortunately, the Serie A has suffered a drastic decline in terms of sport and play. i believe the fans are tired of paying too much money to be able to follow their team, season tickets costing almost 50 euros a month to watch a championship that last year broke the record for the fewest goals in one day. If they want football to return to the people, let them lower the prices to follow "the people's sport".

The loss of Dumfries isn’t too significant, as Benjamin Pavard is already in place as his replacement and has been performing well. Additionally, Inter has also signed John Stones. Yes, although John Stones’ natural position is center back, he’s also effective when playing as a right back, as he did at Manchester City. Inter, of course, remains the favorite to win the Serie A title, but defending that title won’t be easy, especially since other teams like Milan, Napoli, and Juventus are improving their squads to compete for the Serie A title.

Why are we having discussions about the Italian national team here in a thread meant for Italian Scudetto and Seria A, why?!
The international football group is open and these exact conversations about the national team and whatever the federation of Italy intends to do should be moved that way.
Restructuring both the national team down to the national academy should be the long lasting measures to be taken. That said, there's a here we go for Kolo Muani from Tottenham Hotspur to Juventus. It simply means Joshua Zirkzee will not be leaving.

I believe that the FIGC is still very confused about what to do, it seems that they want to obtain results in the short term but they have not yet understood that we need to rebuild from the foundations, from the structures for the youth and from encouraging young Italians in their growth, not being selfish but thinking of the good of the national team.

High quality players needed and Como already brought them in, it might not be record breaking signings but at least they get to kick off from where they start. Como is a team none of us believe will qualify for the UEFEA Champions League but look at them currently, they're going to be participating in UCL next season, this is the number one sign that Como should not be underrated again.

I'm convinced that Como will do well next season. They have the players and a proper manager, Cesc Fabregas who will lead them to achieve trophies next season. This is the time to calmly relaxed and enjoy the beautiful game of Como because I'm confident that they're not going to disappoint. They're aiming for bigger and consistent runs next season.

Como has succeeded where the others have always struggled a lot, without spending a fortune on a single top player, it has focused on quality players for each position and with the right possession of the ball and managed to give us a spectacular vision of football for a newly promoted team, all you need is hunger, determination and the right motivations.

Baresi, a true legend, has passed away at the age of 66.
He was a player I had followed since the late 80s. Throughout his career, he wore only the Milan jersey. He passed away due to a lung condition. May he rest in peace. My condolences to Italian football.

He was one of Italy's most legendary footballers. Our generation doesn't know him very well; we know almost every player who played in the 90s, but we're a bit distant from those of the 80s. If I remember correctly, I saw him in one of the legendary squads in an old FIFA game.
The fact that no one else in Italy ever wore the number 6 shirt again shows how big a star he was. May he rest in peace

This team (Como) always displays a confident style of play and performs as if they’re not under any mental pressure. As a result, every player can perform at their best when they’re more confident and free from mental pressure. And behind Como’s success lies the fact that they have the right, highly qualified coach. Cesc Fabregas has led Como to consistently improving performance. I was even surprised that Fabregas was able to get players who are no longer young to play just like the younger players, with no less enthusiasm. In Como’s first season in Serie A, we really saw a team filled with veteran players, and they managed to break into the top 10 in Serie A. Remarkably, in their second season, they immediately made a shift by bringing in younger players, and they became far more successful. in fact, they’re now a team set to compete in the UCL. I’m starting to have even higher hopes for them this season.

With the signings Como have made, I am still not fully convinced that they will really do as well as many people are expecting. What they have done in the past has made many people start having higher expectations for them this season. If Como want to perform well in these two competitions, they need to sign a few more quality players so they can have better squad rotation. If the same players keep playing every match without enough rest, their performance will eventually decline.Fabregas needs to make the most of this transfer window by bringing in more players to strengthen the squad. Those signings should be experienced, high-quality players, not players who still need a lot of development. Como need players who can make an immediate and significant contribution to the team

Many think that the quality of Como depends exclusively on how they choose to move on the market, Como has developed a team game that made it the most offensive attack of last season, the right pieces in the right place are enough to create a competitive team, just look at Ranieri's Leicester City, moreover they have demonstrated enough that unity is strength, their team play is the winning card.
