Today is the last day of the transfer period. Sami Khedira is in talks to come to Hertha. I would be happy if he came back to the Bundesliga. But I think he is wrong at Hertha Berlin. They are fighting against relegation. Whether he can?

Sami Khedira hasn't played a single minute for Juventus this season since he has been injured a lot (transfermarkt). Nevertheless, I think that if he manages to build on his old performances, he could be a good addition for Hertha. With his experience he can definitely help Hertha BSC. According to the German Kicker the transfer will be finalized today.

In my opinion, the motivation of Hertha players will be better for the next matches if they can hold Bayern's draw.

Dortmund finally managed to get a win after three weeks of losing points. I wasn't surprised when Augsburg got ahead first because Dortmund are known by these kind of starts. After that, Dortmund defeated them with a nice 3-1 score. I guess Dortmund will play better from now on.

An interesting return to the team going on the 15th place in the championship, not even a strong middle man, even considering the not very young age of Khedira, given that before that there were Juventus and Real Madrid. Khedira said in an interview that he wants to help Hertha achieve a major sporting success. I wonder what he meant by a major sporting success? Great news for the German League and also i guess Sami Khedira will be for sure a helping for Hertha Berlin and give them a extra boost.
He is an awesome player and for sure it would be great to see him playing against Bayern Munich.

He demonstrated his ability in Juventus and shows the bad decision from Real Madrid. He managed to play well not one, two but many season in Juventus. Impressive.

As old player, what they bring most to the team is confidence, experience that can help young players to believe in their ability, become more professional in training. Don't see Dortmund/Leverkusen struggling today; lets see what Kiel does after their heroic performance in last round, this could well go into overtime again in freezing temperatures.

Bremen traditionally is a very good cup team and they have improved a lot compared to last season especially defensively. They are still not doing that well at home, which has always been their bread and butter as long as I can remember. Fürth is playing a great season in 2. Bundesliga and are most technically skilled team behind Hamburg. They are the best away team having lost only once on the road all season, basically full squad available for tonights match.
I played btts since a) Werder under the lights in a cup match is a different team (in a positive way !) and b) Fürth is just so good offensively and they never failed to score in an away game this season. All in all I think this will be a good match with some good old fashioned drama in Weserstadion like we could witness gazillion times in the past. @1.6x

The DFB Pokal cup ties does not usually come with surprises; so the predictions will be easy; the likes of Bayer Leverkusen, Dortmund, Werder Bremen, and Monchengladbach should qualify easily to the next round. Wolfsburg will qualify ahead of Schalke; while Kiel should knock out Darmstadt too

You are absolutely right. The next few games in particular will be crucial for Hertha. They are facing Bayern, Stuttgart, Leipzig, Wolfsburg, Augsburg and Dortmund. If they manage to win two of those six games, that would already be a great success. But Wolfsburg and Stuttgart are also playing a decent season, so Hertha will really have to put in a good performance to take home three points. We'll see if Khedira can really help them.

Wolfsburg didn't get any loss (3W 2D) and Augsburg won only once (1W 4L) in the last 5 games in the league. In the last 5 head-to-head games, Wolfsburg won 3 times and two games ended in a draw. At Augsburg, Raphael Framberger is injured. I think Wolfsburg will win against them here again. It seems also probable that both teams score.

Pretty much the same as with Huntelaar on Schalke. Hertha needs experienced players while they have mostly bought young and talented ones in this season so far. I don't think that Khedira could have much impact on the game style of Hertha, but his experience and charisma could be enough help to give the many young players self-confidence in this difficult situation.

There is a game between Essen and Leverkusen in DFB Pokal right now. Leverkusen didn't rotate the squad much for this game. They just demolished their opponent in the statistics. But they somehow couldn't manage to score any goal and the 90 minutes of the game ended 0-0. Leverkusen have a league game 4 days later and this is a bad thing for the players because this is wearing the players out.
