under pressure, they must immediately get a replacement coach for Huub Stevens. Those who can be coach until the end of December 2020,
because Huub Stevens license to coach will expire on January 1, 2021. In the press conference, Huub Stevens admitted that he was
an interim coach, until he waited for the new coach to arrive. I agree this will only upset Schalke's players, but Huub Stevens managed

I am a bit surprised with the odds for Düsseldorf today, would have expected below 1.70. After quite some struggles beginning of the season, they are now one of the hottest teams in 2. Bundesliga. Reason for this is finally finding their offensive rhythm, scoring 11 goals in their last four matches. Now Essen themselves are in pretty good shape and are leading the table comfortable, but this is only 4th division and there is a huge-ish quality difference after all. This is a little derby, which probably adds an extra motivation for Essen, but in the end Düsseldorf should prevail here. A draw and overtime is not unlikely, but I see Düsseldorf advancing to next round here today. Odds are above 1.50 for this, which is good imo.

Apart from Wolfsburg - Sandhausen, the other games look very interesting too and we can expect quite some drama. Wouldn't surprise me to see four penalty shootouts in the late games.

Schalke 04 management should have made the decision sooner before it was too late. Only being able to collect 4 points from 13 matches is a very bad achievement for a team that has been willing to pay a lot for its players and coaches. Changing coaches can increase players desire to play better. At least they can stay in the league at the end of the season and have good competition.

as i said, schalke 04 only "needs" two more winless games in the 1.bundesliga to equal the negative record set by tasmania berlin in the 1965/66 season.
the former officials/players who set the record with tasmania back then are not happy with that and want to keep the record

Huub Stevens as well as his wife have health problems. That is why he quit to be a coach some years ago. But he is still on the board of Schalke 04. As they currently had no alternative, he stepped in for two games. As far as I know there was no contract. He has now delivered the two games and Schalke now has two weeks to find a new coach. I am curious who it will be.

Okay, that's really a surprise. He's certainly not a bad coach, but I'm not sure he's the right one for this situation. He coached for a year in the Bundesliga 10 years ago and since then he has only coached non-name teams in Saudi-Arabia and Egypt. I'm afraid that will go bad.

There is a comparatively low basic salary for him. If the 66-year-old should keep the class with the Gelsenkirchen team, he would get an impressive seven-digit non-relegation bonus.

Oops, that was a really long time ago at Stuttgart. I can't rate that at all. I haven't followed his performance as a coach since then. But what can happen? They can't get any worse.

the next very brave person tries to make the schalke 04 team better ! i did not have this trainer on my list at all
a few days ago i thought that Ralf Rangnick would be the new coach of schalke 04. but the risk of ruining his good name is probably too high for him.

They need i guess a new strategy in the whole Club from the managment and all , and for sure some good players !
But as i have written so often in the last weeks i guess the time for Schalke is after this season over in the first german league.

After a 2-week break, the next matches are going to be played next weekend. Dortmund are going to play a home match against Wolfsburg. I think that it is the match of the week. Wolfsburg have 24 points and they are the fourth. Dortmund have 22 points and they are the fifth. Wolfsburg have had a really good form. They lost just one of their last 5 matches. Dortmund got just one win in their last 5 matches. They got 3 losses in those matches which is really bad. Haaland is still injured. I think this match will be hard especially for Dortmund. We could see a Wolfsburg win here but I believe that Wolfsburg won't lose this.
