I'm not convinced that Bayer Leverkusen will win Hamburg. Their recent form has been poor in the Bundesliga. Maybe we should assume that they were focusing on the UCL, that was why they lost against Union Berlin and drew the game with Mainz. With their qualification to the second round of the Champions League sealed, maybe we would see the best of the club today in Volksparkstadion, Hamburg.

With two wins, one loss, and two draws in five games, Hamburg will not be an easy nut to crack. The Merlin Polzin side is not losing sight of qualifying for an European competition this season.

UEFA Champion League match will play at the next middle week, I think Leverkusen priority for focus at domestic league match and exactly success securing three points after defeating Hamburger SV 0-1. This match in Bundesliga was other boring because home team did not do any attacking and did not even have the chance to score one shot during first half. Although Bayer Leverkusen controlled match by having 65 percent of ball, they failed to score and even hit top bar twice before scoring. This was winning goal that took place in 73rd minute when Christian Kofane finished good pass from Ibrahim Maza, which was just enough to win three points. Victory keeps Leverkusen in race for Champions League and Hamburg is already on edge of going down to lower league. Unless Hamburg continues to play this weakly back home, they may find themselves in great trouble throughout rest of the season.

I wasn't wrong about Leverkusen. They really struggled against HSV away. I didn't get surprised with that considering HSV made difficulties for even Bayern Munich home earlier.

They also played quite well especially in the second half of the game but still couldn't prevent a 1-0 loss. With this result Leverkusen have played their missing game and now they are only 1 point behind Leipzig.

The teams fighting for top 4 have such a bad form that it is quite difficult to guess how this will end.

Leverkusen's quality and competitiveness dropped a lot after they lost Xabi Alonso and some star players but in this season they have tried a lot to compete and get in top four. Now, they are not too far from top four with 3 points less than Hoffeinhem and Stuttgart at the third and fourth positions but they are 1 point less than Leipzig too.

This means Leverkusen will have to compete with Leipzig, Stuttgart and Hoffeinhem for two remaining positions in top four as the first two positions already belong to Bayern Munich and Dortmund. With ten more matches, any club that play with better consistency will take these positions in top four and Leverkusen are still in a slim verge of a successful season with a position in top four and a failed season beyond top four.

They have won a match today, if we give them all the priority on this win, it is not right because their players are not playing very strong and hard, due to which they will have to work hard to become strong and rise. They have to play well now and win a lot of matches, only then will they be able to compete with Dortmund. If we are to judge based on form and even on the statistics we have of both teams this season, it will actually be very fair to say that Leverkusen is a better side and would win Hamburg without having to see them like some sort of threat.  But in football recently, undermining any team is a mistake other teams can do because even the weakest of teams can pull up a surprise so Leverkusen should handle the game like they would against other bigger sides.

Competing with not only one but some clubs makes this competition more difficult for Leverkusen but they actually work hard for achieving a high position, not just sit and hope for any magic.

It will help them having more comfortable summer transfer with better budget for buying players and negotiations with players on salary. Ten Hag was hired by Levekusen is still a big myth, and it's hard to explain this big decision of the club for replacing Alonso by Ten Hag.

Leverkusen is a team that is doing well currently but I don’t see them winning any trophy at the end of the season, they are going trophiless this season because their performance is not up to the standards they deserve to win a trophy, they played well against any small clubs but when they played against big teams they failed to win and that shows that they lack experience of winning against big clubs, even if they have started the season well they can not win a trophy because Bayern Munich is having one of their best season.
