SC Freiburg on underperformance after two loss in a row from Union Berlin and Leipzig.

I think that both Union Berlin and SC Freiburg are great clubs that are very likeable and that have managed to play a very successful season even though they don't have the financial possibilities that many other Bundesliga clubs have that are ranking behind them at the moment. Still i don't think it is perfect for the Bundesliga as a whole if Union Berlin or Freiburg will be playing in the Champions League because usually such small clubs are usually not able to play such a good season two times in a row and it is also very much possible, that those clubs are losing their best players to bigger clubs after this season. So it is very much possible, that they will have a hard time in the CL next season.
One of those teams will play in the CL though that is already certain.

Freiburg and Union Berlin will definitely play internationally next season. The only question now is whether they will play Champignons or Europa League. Freiburg has an opponent in each of the next two games who is also playing for the international places. Wolfsburg and Frankfurt.
Union Berlin has a bit easier remaining programme. But they still have to play against Hoffenheim. That will not be an easy game because Hoffenheim is still playing against relegation.

In my opinion, the biggest chance for a UCL spot belongs to Union Berlin, as you said they have a slightly easier opponent than Freiburg. Talking about Union Berlin, previously people thought that they would be able to break Bayern Munich's dominance in the Bundesliga.

But it's all just wishful thinking. Overall, they have done their best, playing for the UCL next season is also not a bad result, because we know how this small team struggles in the Bundesliga.

It really deserves to be appreciated for Union Berlin's struggles this season and they really deserve it if next season they can appear in the champions league. Let's assume that Thoman Tuchel has not had the privilege to lead Bayern for a whole season, he should still be given the benefit of the doubt. But it's glaring that he could not perform better than the former coach with his current performance and there will not be an excuse next season as he needs to prove himself to keep his seat there.
