Exactly i also feel they were kind of obsessed with him if not why spend that amount on a player that is 30 years already, teams spend that amount on young players not someone who cannot promise you 3-5 seasons. Dortmund are quite silent in this transfer window. So far the arrivals are Nmecha, Sabitzer and Bensebaini. They have spent only 49 million euros in total for these transfers. I would have waited for Dortmund to make a promising player transfer at the same time. Because they have newly lost a player like Bellingham.

Other than that they don't need to change the squad much of course. With this squad they were able to fight for the Bundesliga title. Even if they don't manage to fight that hard this time I think they should be able to finish the league at the 2nd position once again.

Well, different teams have different training methods and different methods of entering players into the season, so without additional reasons there were no such unconditional reasons to release a player from the start. Despite the fact that it wasn't less than 24 hours after Harry Kane was signed to Bayern Munich, I am of the opinion that Thomas Tuchel should've started him in the super cup match against Leipzig since the England international was fit for the game.
