41.C: If a club leads the table by 20 points at any point in time during the season, the Bundesliga season will immediately be stopped.


I am not sure where your problem is. @Frankolala good catch, not everyone here in the thread knows that rule. Did you read the entire set of Bundesliga rules? It's refreshing to see that at least one person here took the time because I am sure barely anyone here knows about this.

I am just knowing about this rule for the first time too and I still doubt it's workability. Some of these questions you have thrown up are unavoidable and very impossible. How will the season final standings look like. What I have always known is that in the case when leagues have gone far and a team is leading with the number of points that can no longer be surpassed by any other team, the leagues continue till the end as normal.

Ending the season because of a 20 point lead don't seem possible or do we just hope to see it happen this season? Bayern Munich is 11 points away from the second team Dortmund. If they extend the lead by 20 point, then what happens to the relegation zone? If you can send a link to this claim, that will be very helpful.

I noticed a little drop in the performance of Bayern Munic in their last match which was why they struggle so much to win that match. Tonight we are seeing the same weakness which is why they are losing in first half.  I don't know if this could be the end of Bayern Munic dominance in the Bundesliga. After watching the first half, the final result seemed unexpected to me. The first half ended 1-0 with Leipzig leading. But in the second half, Bayern Munich came back on the field like a madman, proving with their strength that there is no team in the Bundesliga that can compete with them. Especially this season, I don't see any team that can threaten them. They have already secured the title.

Honestly I did expected such from Bayern Munich, even with the one goal Leverkusen was leading by at a point, I did not consider as a big deal, for me playing against Bayern Munich, you have to know that it is not over until it is over, as they may give you the least expected shock at the time you never expected it.

It is true that Munich did not play well in the first half. But in the second half, munich completely dominated and scored 5 goals. Bayern Munich was 1-0 behind at the end of the first half. Even then, I expected munich to win. That is what happened.
Munich won the home match against leipzig by a margin of 6-0 . And Munich also secured a 5-1  victory in the away match. Munich has proven their ability. There is no doubt that munich will be the Bundesliga champions this season. Munich's point gap with leipzig is 18 and with dortmund it is 11.

All that really matters for Bayern in the Bundesliga is to secure the title ahead of schedule so that, as you correctly said, they can switch their attention to other more important tournaments. But I am sure that the Bayern players will still have their own interests in the Bundesliga, for example Kane will keep his sporting motivation to set new top scorer records.

I also assume that once Bayern become champions early, Kompany will start giving more playing time to young players and to the reserve squad. Therefore in the last matches of the season their performance may change, and I do not rule out that even some defeats could appear.

Bundesliga is getting bored due to huge lead of Bayern Munich from second spotted Borussia Dortmund, 11 points and 17 points third spotted Hoffenheim, they are unstoppable with their lethal attack and consistency in 18 games they are having just 2 draws while their attack provided 71 goals.

With these stats, I am not sure any team is going to stop them in upcoming years as well because they are having one of the best system for this league with unlimited sources which are giving them support for keeping this for long time. Borussia Dortmund is chasing but have no enough power while Leipzig and others are struggling, here things need change which are never been easy.

Bayern Munich's position in the standings is very impressive. They have a considerable point gap over several other teams in the Bundesliga. Some of their victories have also been impressive, where they have managed to defeat many teams with excellent scores. Several Bayern Munich players are currently in the top 10 scorers. Harry Kane is the top scorer with 21 goals and 4 assists. I personally believe that Bayern Munich's performance will make them champions at the end of the season if they can maintain their excellence. But I am a little doubtful about the next few games considering that Bayern Munich's focus is not only on the Bundesliga but also on the Champions League. So I personally think that Bayern Munich's performance will be slightly affected by the big competition in the Champions League. And perhaps it will affect the fitness of some Munich players. Maybe it will also cause them to lose some players due to injury. But if the Munich players or even the coach can handle all the problems that will arise then I am sure Munich will still be able to perform well in the next matches. And they have great potential to be the winners.

I believe Kompany will take this on consideration. Whenever the competition will be intense, the risk of injuries will become higher. Generally teams which have a good lead will rotate their players to make them rest and avoid fatigue injuries.
Bayern Munich is 11 points in advance of Borussia Dortmund. Bayer Leverkusen and Leipzig are out of the competition. Hoffenheim recent rise will not be for long in my opinion.

Bayern Munich found 5 goals by 5 different players too, that is very important. Kane is a great top goal scorer of the team and the league right now, ahead of everyone, but the fact that others in the team are also scoring like crazy is important.

Because Kane is a human and he may not play every single game, and I insist that Bayern is overutilizing him, which tires him and at his age he may get injured if he plays too much and should rest sometimes. That means others will have to score when Kane is out ,and by the looks of it on games like these, we can safely say that Bayern could find other players who can score when Kane is out. Resting someone, literally just sending him home and relax, is not a bad idea when he already provided so much for you.

You need to read the annexes to the rule, mainly annex 3.b and 3 c:

Annex 3b >  suspends the rule entirely if the leading club has won the title the year before, or has won it in 3 times in the last 5 years,  as defined in §11(7) of the DFL Implementing Guidelines.
Annex 3c >  the 20-point threshold is calculated on an adjusted points-per-match basis, excluding Matchdays 1–5 and any fixtures affected by weather, VAR malfunction, or any game with a result altered by the AGR Abfallentsorgungs-Gesellschaft Ruhrgebiet!

Bayern Munich can't stop the Bundesliga from finishing this year, not in 4 years, the only one that could have done so was Bayer Leverkusen but they were unable to put 20 points between them and the rest of the teams, excluding the first 5 matches!

Anyhow, I'm down the third time with beer money, and the next is Augsburg, two more lossess and it turns to fast food money, the nice thing is that with such high odds, it will never reach BMW money

Leverkusen continue to come down in the standings. That terrible home loss against Stuttgart must have demoralized the players a lot. I know they have a missing match also but you see how they play lately.

This poor defense of them is a big problem. I know there is still another half in the season so it is early to talk about how they will end up. But with this effort it gets more difficult for them to join the Champions League next season.

It seems like he should take back his words, the first half did look ordinary and seemed to be struggling but the second half was beyond anyone's expectations, being able to score 4 goals in the second half is not unusual, and it is clear that Bayern Munich cannot be underestimated, if you watch one half it might tell a silly story about them here, 5-1 to defeat Leipzig at Leipzig's own home.

You're not alone on this, this is my first time hearing about this rule too. It's actually a weird rule that has no basis. I don't think there's such rule in any of the top European league, it probably originated from fans speculation. In as much as +20 points is much, it's still realistic and it doesn't make any sense to void the entire league at any moment because of points difference. The only thing I would agree with is when a team is ahead with +20 points, there's every possibility that particular team will win the league and they automatically become champions with few games to go when it's clear other teams can not meet up with them again even if they win their remaining games but saying the league will be terminated is nowhere to be found.

What appeared to be a calm and balanced game, with some hope for Leipzig, turned into a nightmare for them in the second half. It didn't even seem like Leipzig had scored first; it was a complete disaster for Leipzig in the second half. Bayern didn't hold back and scored 5 goals.

Perhaps if the game had lasted another 45 minutes, we would have seen 10 goals. After this defeat against the third-placed team, which has now moved up to fourth place, it showed us that Bayern can score many goals against any team in the Bundesliga, regardless of their position.

First half performance was clearly showing they are well-prepared and have enough chance of doing good in this game, but suddenly Bayern Munich started their business and ruined their defense which was looking easy for their attack as they have three players in top 4 Bundesliga top scorers list.

I really think the German Bundesliga statutes are a mess. You can see from the discussion here that many people do not know the Bundesliga immediately stops under certain circumstances. But frankly, who the hell is supposed to read all of that?

What's even crazier is that they revert to the AGR from the Ruhrgebiet being the decisive criterion. In my opinion they shouldn't depend on a single waste management service provider in one federal state. That is definitely prone to manipulation!! I can't understand why they don't revert to all the biggest waste disposal service providers from all the 16 German federal states and then have some sort of majority decision.

It is the same with the FIFA and Gianni Infantino now. He wants to convince the FIFA committee to give a wild card to Tuvalu for the World Cup. I am sure this is all because Infantino has real estate in Funafuti. It's pure corruption if you ask me. The rules should be the same everywhere, nationally and internationally.

It might seem like a long time to say ten years for someone like Vincent Kompany, even though he certainly has excellent team-building skills. But when there's a turnover of players every season, as is often seen in every team, there will certainly be a difference in the team's performance, especially if a new coach is in charge and can shift from old tactics to new ones. There will be a significant difference without having to wait ten years as you said, unless Vincent Kompany remains at Bayern Munich until then.

Little mistake facing Bayern Munich would be fatal how easily scoring until five goals at second half match, since 50th minutes above Bayern Munich playing full aggressive and success scoring 5 goals to come back from RB Leipzig after losing at first half match. Can't stoppable Bayern keep dominance in Bundesliga and actually RB Leipzig in this season have loss twice at first and second half season match.

To be fair there aren't that many teams in the world that can lose by half them 1-0, and then come back and score five goals to win the game. Once again Bayern scored a lot of goals, they are really gunning for that world record and could very well happen. They will be the team with the most goals in a season, within the top divisions of big five leagues. Leipzig isn't really guilty here, they did all they could do but when you are playing against Bayern Munich, there isn't much you can do.
