But we saw what he did vs. that real challenger in Germany when he got the opportunity. He created a strong army in Bayer Leverkusen. I think during this low phase, he should go back to Germany to reignite himself; after all, he is so familiar with Germany from the time he was a player. Then he can maybe stroll around England once he is fully back on his feet (I know at one point Liverpool might need him)
Xabi Alonso should return to Germany and prove himself again, if only to regain the respect he lost after his sacking from Real Madrid. Maybe he can set an example by going to Germany that a humble team can be transformed into a high-quality team with a committed disciple. Bayer Leverkusen need the same old manager to take them from the current situation they are in to defeat German giants Bayern Munich and win the title, as he has shown in the past. He is tested with this team and the conditions.

Xabi leaving Bayer Leverkusen wasn't a mistake, because he was at the peak of his game and if he stayed, he would have just be a manager for a mediocre team. Yes he won the title with Leverkusen that is true, but if he stayed for another 5 years, you think he could repeat that? I think he couldn't, look at Bayern Munich right now, it's so clear that they are far greater team than back in that year.
Leverkusen would have been a team that fights for a UCL spot, and Xabi would be a manager who would try to make the team be in the top four every year, that's it, nothing more. With Real Madrid deal, he got to be manager of one of the best teams in the world, unless you are the manager for Bayern Munich, every manager in Bundesliga would prefer Real Madrid job.
No I disagree with you about Alonso and the club Leverkusen, if he had stayed at the club I don't think this poor form of the players would have happened because he knows these guys very well and the chemistry between him and the players wasn't like that of the Madrid players, it was one of the best. If he had stayed I believe that the players who left the club won't have made that move no matter what and Bayern would've done this season to be more competitive than they are enjoying now, is sad that Alonso made that disappointing move and got sacked by Madrid. Now the champions league has teams who are fighting to finish in a more better position like the top 8 spot and if Leverkusen was led by Alonso it won't have been an easy one for some clubs but take a look at how they are trying to even get a win in the champions league and this might be their last time of playing in the champions league, they can't go far, in the Bundesliga table they are suppose to be in the top 3 but without Alonso they had to manage with what they have, I just wish for Alonso to come back to the club Bayer Leverkusen.

Going back to Germany would not be a step backwards at all, if he can consistently challenge Bayern Munich again, his reputation fixes itself naturally. Sometimes rebuilding where you are strongest makes more sense than rushing into another pressure cooker.

Xabi Alonso returning to the bundesliga, honestly won't be a bad idea. If he declares his intention that he wants to returns to the bundesliga many clubs would be fighting for his signature.Bayer Leverkusen could call him back to coach the team. The Bundesliga need a competent coach like Xabi Alonso who can be contending for the title Xabi Alonso returning to the bundesliga would make the league more competitive and challenging to Bayern Munich.

I'm tired of looking around anymore in the league, it's always boring because you'll always guess right the top club, it's always Bayern, while the next 5-6 clubs will now be competing with their weaknesses, even though it could be interesting to watch. But in the spirit of competing for the cup itself, no one is contesting with Bayern, which is wrong and unentertaining. In a competition, the best team wins; there won't be many winners, only one. The one who made the most effort, whether physical, mental, or financial. In the case of the Bundesliga and other leagues, it's no different. There's a structure within a club, starting with the president, who must be a visionary person with the ambition to make the club grow and win titles. When you have a good president and choose good managers for the club, then choose a good coach and good players, then the club will win titles, will dominate the league, and there's nothing wrong with that when it's done honestly. The other Bundesliga clubs should follow the same path as Bayern if they want to fight for the title. In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with the league.

I agree with this take. As Leverkusen has already demonstrated, Xabi Alonso is familiar with the Bundesliga and he knows how to create a competitive team. A comeback would not damage his reputation at all, in fact, it could make it stronger in case he has one more confrontation with Bayern. Coaches like him are a definite advantage to the league and his presence would bring even more balance, excitement and the actual title competition rather than having Bayern win every season.

That doesn't mean he's successfully helped Bayer win titles in the past and that he'll only fit in Germany. I think it all depends on several circumstances, and at the moment, Leverkusen is in really good shape with some pretty solid players. I think he'd be better off trying his hand in another league, as he still needs a lot of experience to become a reliable coach.
But one thing we maybe forget. In the year that Leverkusen played so well, Bayern Munich did not perform good. in normal times, Bayern would win the title every year. Looking at the current statistics, they maybe break new records and score the most points and goals in a season. Leverkusen had a sensational year and the whole team played very well together. They earned a lot of money and now they are back on track and need to improve over the coming years.

Eventually he gets to return tot the Bundesliga, it should not be for the purpose of proving any point whatsoever, it is quite not needed, it should be for career advancement, for him to improve his coaching techniques, because if he is actively coaching, he will get the opportunity and chances to improve his performance via several other experiences he will be getting with the team at every point.

If I were Xabi Alonso, I will not return to Bayern Leverkusen, it is not ideal because if he returns there, I doubt he will be able to reproduce the onderful record he had there after the club had sold all the players he assembled. So returning there will likely be to destroy the achievement he made there and that is not what a wise person will do. He should aim for other clubs even in the Eglish Premiership, there're many clubs that can hire him like Manchester United that are at crossroads at the moment.
Yes, Xabi is already above the level when he went to Leverkusen in the middle of the season and lifted them from the bottom of the league table. He should definitely have a better choice now, especially given how many top clubs are giving almost every coach a chance (Bayern with Kompany, Liverpool with Slot, Real Madrid with Xabi haha). Maybe Xabi's optimal strategy is to simply sit back and wait for Slot to be fired At best, Slot will work until the end of the season.

German teams, thinking about the possibility of the team reaching better positions thanks to Xabi's influence, will probably make him an offer. I think the chances of seeing him in the Bundesliga again are not small at all.

Whether returning to the Bundesliga or going to the Premier League, I think he is ready for a new challenge in his coaching career. Xabi is not a coach who lacks tactics, but managing a team as big as Madrid might require more than just tactics. There are many star players there who might be difficult for Xabi to manage. Hopefully, he will succeed with his new club in the future.

Because a coach with a Real Madrid background is capable of managing many teams, in my opinion. In fact, if the rumors are true, he reportedly resigned. It emerged that he had some problems with the players, and this accelerated his departure. Because he knows German football and the Bundesliga well, Germany will always remain one of his options.

Had he not accepted Real Madrid offer, Leverkusen would probably have been Bayern Munich biggest rival. Now the situation has changed, Leverkusen has lost several players who played a major role in winning trophies. If he returns, it will take time to re-assemble the team, and even then there is no guarantee that it will work because Bayern Munich's performance has improved significantly. Perhaps he should wait for an offer from Dortmund to boost his popularity again, the team's philosophy is almost the same as the tactics used by Xabi when he was still in charge of Leverkusen. Even though he can't win trophies instantly, if the club gives him the resources to bring in quality players, sooner or later he will become a top coach who is sought after by several big teams from different leagues.

This post reminds me of the past, and unfortunately or maybe fortunately nothing has changed. Bayern still dominate the league. To be honest, fans are tired of this. There have been many ideas and attempts to make the league more exciting, but they all failed badly. Sometimes I wonder why people are still interested in this league. What if Bayern had to play against themselves in the Bundesliga? Maybe then they'd finally be in trouble. hahaha

The 19th round of the Bundesliga is about to begin. And St. Pauli vs Hamburger SV will be the first match to be held in the next few hours. Both teams have not performed well in their last five matches with each team securing only one win while some matches ended in draws and even losses. However Hamburger SV is ranked higher than St. Pauli in the standings, where Hamburger SV currently in 14th place with 17 points while St. Pauli is at the bottom of the table with 12 points. The odds available for this match are quite attractive to bet on. And choosing one team to win has odds above 2. I personally will try my luck by betting on St. Pauli by choosing them as the winner. I'm sure St. Pauli will try hard to win this match. And I think they will not disappoint their fans or even be willing to suffer defeat at home. What are your thoughts on this match?

It seems almost everyone agrees that Bayern Munich will win this match. Because Bayern Munich has scored an average of 4 goals against every team in Germany this year. These statistics are simply extraordinary. No team can stand against Bayern Munich's destructive style of play this year. They could finish the season undefeated; that's how great a year it's been for Bayern Munich.

Maybe he would have continued to perform well, we can't know. There are cases where a coach does very well for many years, and it doesn't necessarily mean he's doing badly as the years go by. A prime example? Carlo Ancelotti, for example, who at Real Madrid, after many years, has always performed very well.

My thought? I’d choose Hamburg to win in this match, the reason because St.Pauli have not been in good performance so far..they lost a lot of game and in their last two games they also lost but I think Harmburg are a bit better than them, so even though they’ll be playing at home I don’t actually expect them to win in this match maybe they might pull a draw..well let’s see! Tomorrow will be more fun in the bundesliga, we have five matches of the Round 19 and Bayern Munich will also play against Augsburg and Leverkusen against Bremen, I’d like to watch this two games out of the five.

I always have a question about the teams from the Bundesliga or better to say about the cities who have a team playing on the bundesliga, why big and huge cities like Berlin, Hamburg Frankfurt, etc cant have a huge team like Bayer Munich? I mean in all the rest of the world and leagues they are always teams by cities where are superhouse, in England we have Manchester, London, Liverpool, in Spain Madrid, Barcelona in Italy Turin, Milano, Rome.
Why this doesnt happen in Germany? I know someone can tell about the cold war and the unification but that only can aply to Berlin and a few more no to the whole country.
