can somebody explain me what a Fork is? thx
its the junction where the 'coin' and wallets go in a different direction from the current blockchain ...
changes to the blockchain are usually done with forks - and are usually done by changing the code to work 'differently' ( whether changes in the algo - or wallet - or coin code itself ) ... like a 'fork' in the road that leads to two ( or more ) different directions - so too the blockchain and coin code ...
forks are usually set on a specific block number - so as to allow some time for those that have the older coded wallets to change to the newer coded wallets ... if you stay on the older coded wallets - they remain on the same track and blockchain that they were always on - while everyone else who has 'upgraded' to the newer coded wallets are on the newer blockchain ...
its a lot more complicated than that - but that is the main 'jist' of it ...
if anyone else with more technical knowledge is onhand - please elaborate ...
