I hope no one is dumb enough to use any third party "ways" to get their coins out of Cryptsy. Don't even think about sending your coins to MrPump/cohnhead or giving them access to your account or whatever it is they will PM you about. You've been warned.

Great thread.
I agree that so far Bittrex has a perfect record.
I find it disturbing, however, that a Bittrex user experienced being "RAT'd/hacked by many of those scams you are hell bent on listing."
He claims:
"6 months ago, someone hacked my pc with one of your RAT (remote admin tool) listings and stole 80% of what little crypto I had left. The stolen CANN, XAI and DGB were all sent to your exchange and you refused to freeze that maggot's account."
While this thread is full of he-said-he said complaints, I think this is worth investigating.
Did you click on any banners or ads, or was this a total RAT hack?
Either way, disturbing.
What say you, @Bittrex?
One of my team members knows 5 people who have already been sent to jail who operate cryptocurrency exchanges; maybe this is just a sign of more to come.

I suspect some people posting in this thread are less interested in Cryptsy's possible malfeasance than they are in shilling for another altexchange. For shame!
no i think most users in this thread are simply frustrated with the many issues they've had dealing with cryptsy, and tis all got alot worse of late. nothing wrong with people suggesting alternatives, many were only using cryptsy as it was the only place to dump shitcoins. Bittrex i'm not a fan at all of their delisting practices ie supports serial coin creators and burns newbies etc Cryptopia has very low vol but picking up, its trollbox is way more friendly and less pump n dump scaming then other crypto trollbox, this good social environment could lead to it growing. devs on the exchange seem to have a better scamcoin filter then most which is a big positive. Not issues at all so far with using it, platform/withdraws/deposits all work great.

Forgive my petulance and oft-times, I fear, ill-founded criticisms, and forgive me that I have, by this time, made your eyes and head ache with my long letter. But I cannot forgo hastily the pleasure and pride of thus conversing with you.

Yesterday they responded to my email:
Hello XXX,
We do apologize for the delay in response to your ticket. We would like to let you know we are still working on this issue and a verification agent should be in touch with you soon.
There are two separate issues going on with BTC withdrawals currently.
#1: Due to the new Verifications Tier system handed to us to use, many users are frozen and flagged to become verified depending on the amounts of w/d they are making. For these, a verifications agent should be contacting you soon.
#2 We are experiencing some problems with BTC withdrawals and developers are working on them to get them moving again.
Sorry for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.
They told me exactly the same thing 10 days ago of course. I have the suspect nobody will ever contact me again.

I think when posting on the status of withdrawals...users should also give tier level as that has an effect on amounts that can be withdrawn

Bittrex hardly has a clean record they add coins on launch that are outright scams.
I have had a cryptsy account for 2 years got over 5k trades , not much $$ in it now just a few mill of that rubbish spec. I was going to send more over to buy some MINT but I'm not going to now,I don't wanna have to enter a support ticket to move a few BTC around.
Whatever they say about verification it looks like they have run outta coins

Yes, if it wasn't that they simply refuse to verify you

So if someone deposits 3 BTC into Cryptsy they must be verified to withdraw the same amount they deposited? Lets just say they traded no coin and hypothetically wanted to just send back out. This is ludacris! If you can show you deposited X amount of coin it should be free to leave. Translate each Alt coin into BTC and that amount of BTC should also be able to leave no questions. Then if you show a profit that is where the contingency of maximum withdraw should be started. Sounds like entrapment. Just like the Bait -n- Switch on MN2 but now they keep your BTC tied up for nothing. Maybe you give up and buy some Shit Coins and leave it in their clutches to dump the Shit Coins on you and Cryptsy gets their BTC out instantly.

they should be investigated for adding that scam coin spec...i thought they were well past that. i guess being registered with fincen doesn't count for much. anyway I am in similar situation. I have had an account for over two years. Did a fair amount of trading and now have small amount in account. I submitted documents like photo id and utility bills and was verified back in July 2014. everytime I logged, the system would confirm I was verified....now it just lets me know I am tier 2 and will be automatically upgraded to tier 3 in 3 months. I guess that clock starts now...not from when I was originally verified, which is bullshit. i have made withdrawals and deposits in the last couple of days...not huge amounts but certainly over tier 0 limits. (moved btc from tier 0 to tier 2 account...and then off exchange). I do not think they are insolvent but rather they are feeling the heat from regulatory agencies...but i also thought gox wasn't insolvent either.
