Individual sticks on kano.is can only generate dust which amounts to no pay.
Incorrect.  With the current size of the Kano ckpool you need about 13-14GH/s or so at the full 5Nd to receive a payment greater than the pool dust threshold (10,000 satoshi).  This is easily achievable with a single stick.  I currently have 2 compacs @ 225 freq pointed at kano.is for about 20-24GH average and I'm seeing almost 30,000 satoshi per block (these two compacs run on a computer that's on all the time and I don't pay electricity, so I look at it as free microearnings).

Hate to be the one to bring it up, but you'd be better off solo mining with the sticks vs large-pool mining. Even w/ free electricity & flat diff, it would take 3 years to break even on a compac. At least in a solo pool like this one we have a chance to win big, instead of $0.70 per month.

Of course Smiley

I wouldn't suggest someone to mine on my (or any other) pooled mining with only 10-20GHs
You'd get 'dust' level rewards, but it does indeed seem like a long time (months) to get a few dollars.

Whereas on solo, indeed there's the chance of getting 1BTC in one lucky hit Smiley

yeah and even after beta .  This pool /club will get this donation from me

http://solo.ckpool.org/workers/1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX.philipma1957donation

I plan to run an s-3 clocked at freq 200 each and every 30  day run.

basically it is like buying a 3 digit lotto ticket and getting 1100 or 1200 to one   vs 999 to one.

If you understand  game theory  - gambling - investing you are no longer gambling you are investing.

Low cost high risk High yield.

your risk is the certain dust vs chance at a big payout.  and the payout is higher then the odds due to the donated hash.

Bumping up my speed some http://solo.ckpool.org/workers/1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX.notlist3dstick

It will change a little as I am changing freq on 3 of the sticks.  So 5 sticks total, and 3 have y adapters and slowly playing with freq.   Pretty fun day.

I realize, but my goal is not to roi the sticks.  I have other sticks and miners solo mining, but these two with 0 operating cost provide me a "free" trickle of satoshi.  If I hold on to it long enough it may be worth something some day... Smiley

Up to 300 freq on 3 of the miners (the production model).  Other two I have ran at normal speeds.  Pretty amazing though how much more you can get out of these.

Takes a decent hub and Y adapter.  But much more power then regular freq - http://solo.ckpool.org/workers/1JiWuyX94wrCr7JhkAn7x5qNMCEef1KhqX.notlist3dstick

Sorry for the wait but I'm up and running on club's pool.  I've been running fine with 4 @ 300mhz with 1 hw error for the last 5 days.  Voltage set at .72 and each running at about 7.4 watts and 1.52 amps.
The Superbpag 7 port usb 3.0 hub on Amazon is holding it's own and it works on the Pi.  Definitely the reason why I'm running so steady I presume.

I'm thinking you guys could really do with share summaries being recorded/added somewhere to solo pool. I may do that to encourage these sort of clubs in the future.

yeah it would help a lot.  Right now I go to each worker and check if they are up.  we are doing the equal share per miner method. So basically 1 stick at 10gh gets the same as 10 sticks at 100gh.

Not a long term plan ,but with the promo hash it has attracted miners.
If you  could do a list of the workers shares  we can figure a better way to share btc after the beta testing.

frankly  these clubs look like the future for most smaller miners.

A guy with an s-3 under 500gh  does not have a lot of hope to make out.  but a club of  25x  500gh s3's   at 12.50th has a shot  at a block.

It makes running an s-3 more fun.

Guys, quick question.

I did not anticipate I would need a second rig to seriously overclock and simply researched, read, etc until I found what I thought was the best I could do off the shelf for my money and it does well.
Now I need something to run my stock ones and keep them on the pool happily humming along.
Until I pick up or make another decent rig, can I run another CGminer instance on windows and run one at stock in a laptop USB port?
I understand there are several variables, but assume anything not provided. Windows 7, Dell Precision series. I think we can assume I'll get the 500ma from the port but I can check it. It is in a docking station with all power saving turned off except blank the screen.
I'd rather not run a virtual machine on it, but will if needed. I do use it for work from time to time and want it to be fairly snappy.

I should have summarized this, but I know I can run the single cgminer and a stick from a usb port on the laptop or docking station. Can I also run an externally powered hub with a stick running a separate cgminer, its own settings, etc?

Transaction fees go to the pools and the pools decide to pay them to the miners. Anything else, including off-chain solutions are stealing and not the way Bitcoin was intended to function.
Make the block size set by the pool. Pool = miners and they get the choice.

With getting close to 26-27 members are we about to do a lock at some point?  I was not sure what the target number is to close it temporary at least.

And I could be in minority and people want it open.   I just think fun drops at a certain point.

Hopefully it is not that difficult.  I think it would be beneficial
