meech just went off line

larry12 has been off line for quite a while.

so 25 shares as of now.

Are you using anything to get that info?  Or are you having to do by hand each time?

Just trying to gauge best way for me to watch it as well for fun.  I enjoy watching mining and hashing.

I have to click at least 27 times to check it.

just did the clicks  larry12, slimepuppy are offline
so then we are at  25 shares

Thanks for the solo pool change, more data is always welcomed!  I'm sure it wasn't done only to support this club, but it's a good feature and I think we'll see more groups like this make use of it.
You're welcome. However I did make the changes purely for this club and hope it means more clubs like this in the future.

I could see an s-3 club during the winter.

Logic is s-3's are very good space heater if you need a space heater.  50 s-3's = 20 - 25th  .  run for

 nov
 dec
 jan
 feb
 mar

pretty good shot at a block

I would be open to this idea.  I have a spare S3 that I have laying around.  I'm waiting for the winter to come so I can use it as a heater but yet gain some of the electricity cost back.

I'd be open to an S3 club as well. Have one running in my dad's office (He's always cold) now as my donation to the stick pool.

So no SP20 club? I got rid of my S3s a long time ago.

So no SP20 club? I got rid of my S3s a long time ago.

SP20 is a little high for most to do solo mining.  I can run these sticks for almost nothing, so I'm not worried about cost to run.   And I can run them for a very long time.  I even bought a few extra in hopes of adding a tad more hash to pool from me.   And it worked I went from 24 to 60ish with 3 of the sticks running at 15gh each.

But on SP20 I personally like to make more then my electricity bill is.  So going solo I would have to eat  more cost then i wanted.

That's a good point. I'm running my SP20 with free electricity, which I guess is why I wasn't thinking along those lines. S3s are a lot less hungry power wise than the PS20, so they do make more sense for solo mining.

It would cost me about $86 a month to run an S3 at my house during the summer, that's a lot to spend on lottery tickets!  I can justify it in the winter when I need the heat, but even the S3 is pretty expensive to run just as a solo machine if you pay high rates like I do.

In the winter from Nov 1  to  Mar 1 they make sense.

I do like the gentle heat that an S3 provides.
Does everyone but me know that you can plug in just half of an S3  and get half the output, this way you can put half an S3 in the 'kitchen' and another half in the 'bedroom'. (you need two un or underused' S3's to do this.) This of course all depends on how and where you live. I'm going to try it for a while this winter.
I've spent more time removing heat from my space than I've spent adding to it.  It's a bit different now. There is something though about steady and continuous heat, that's what I want to explore.

Back to the interest in a club with greater hash power than sticks, I have (dare) to say that this thread is about sticks.
Also, though I'm not keeping up properly with Sidehack/Novac, these guys are not asleep at the wheel and I think there's bound to be interesting things to come.

In the end I'm welcome to a winter S3 club but I won't be the one to add it to phils to do list.

You would need another S3 controller I would think to split between rooms.  Also would need some kinda case where fan is on it.  It is a intresting idea but don't see to many doing it.

Do you have pictures of these half miners you have done?

I'm saying plug in two 6 pin power connectors on only one side of the box. You need two boxes. I think it only works on the right side,  to the right of the ethernet port when you're looking at it, I think) It's sort of like one side is a master and the other a slave. Only one fan will turn but you can overcome that if you think necessary.

This is just a wild*** thought and adventure on my part for the winter. It's been moons since I did what I claim above, but I swear it worked. Currently inhabiting a smaller space, and not with regrets, I almost think I could substantially heat with this arrangement, Oh and yes there's the Gigahashs too.

3 S1's were the first to heat my house during the winter and the noise wasn't too bad and then S3's.  It almost equaled the cost of my electric wall heaters running most of the day.  I plan to do this again by the end of Oct. or sooner.  Currently building a sound-proof enclosure out of mdf to house a 12u server rack.  Should look similar to Zelek Uthers he posted a ways back.  If it was just me I wouldn't mind the noise but it's hard to convince my boys on my hobby.
The Compac Cube they like though, I guess all is good in moderation.  Too bad we all have the fever and want to push the limits. Cheesy

sidehack sticks do 55%     of freq

so

125 freq =  6.875  gh
150 freq =  8.250  gh
175 freq =  9.625  gh
200 freq = 11.000 gh
225 freq = 12.375 gh
250 freq = 13.750 gh
275 freq = 14.135 gh
300 freq = 16.500 gh
325 freq = 17.875 gh
350 freq = 19.250 gh
375 freq = 20.625 gh
400 freq = 22.000 gh

I run 20 sticks at freq 250 I should do 275gh  I am doing about 272gh

okay here are 20 sticks at freq 250 for more then 23 hours

one iffy   by iffy 100 hw out of 82000      which is under  .12 percent

 19 perfect   not bad.

the stud hub on the left has the best 5volt psu for efficiency  (90% rating rated for 150watts with no cooling 200 watts with cooling)  but it has to be outside the stud hub. So I pulled the board and built a platform to mount it all.

 I am running 15 sticks

the stud hub with 5 sticks  has an 85% psu rated for 130 watts

temps are 81 f

power for the 2 hubs = 128watts
