I guess some people who never sought information about bitcoin, will have heard or read it. Well, I've visited darkweb for being so curious, and there are so many markets that sell drugs by using BTC. Well, I think it is normal when using bitcoin, because then they will never be found.

Oh yes they will. If they're running a large enough operation, the Feds will take them out quick. Bitcoin is not anonymous and law enforcement is actively tracking transactions as we speak.

Anyone running a shady deep web bizz would be best to accept Monero.

I don't know if it’s a good idea buying drugs with btc but as long as my country are free on drugs then i don't care if they buying drugs using their bitcoins i saw some countries that they using bitcoin in black market where they show up some map with yellow dot.

Bitcoin is anonymous, so you can buy illegal drugs but we do not want to buy illegal products including drug products. It can make the government angry and finally bitcoin illegally. So we all use bitcoin in the best way.

It is interesting to watch how this thread has evolved since it first was posted. Back in the day people thought it was actually safe to buy drugs with bitcoin. However, most mixers have been shut down and they should never have been trusted in the first place. Of course now we have some very well used coins such as monero and plenty of other even better privacy coins on the market.

Unfortunately, anecdotally it seems that people who do not trust in crypto and only know what they see on the news still think bitcoin is primarily used to buy drugs. I think that sad truth will be with us for a long long time.

well in my country Nigeria, people haven't started buying or selling anything with bitcoin. so for now people just invest in it. i hope in years to come the country will start accepting payment for things including drugs with bitcoin

Im not buying nor using drugs it is prohibited and a bad thing to do. but bitcoin is a currency and you can buy whatever you want and we are old enough to know whats good or bad for ourselves.That's why government worry about bitcoin because some people want use bitcoin for wrong way,buying drugs is illegal.

I never bought drugs with Bitcoin. Because in my country such a thing is certainly very prohibited and if violated I will definitely get sanctions. So I use Bitcoin just as my investment assets in the long run.

Now 99% of the users consider Bitcoin as an investment asset. It is no longer used for buying or selling commodities. And in the future also, this scenario may continue. Only if the prices get stabilized, Bitcoin is going to be used as a currency.

Lol no I am not, I am just curious as to why use Bitcoin and other crypto currencies. I have no idea what the process is like, and I have no desire to practice it myself but I do think its a big market that gives Bitcoin its high value. Am I wrong?

Most of bitcoins value still comes from speculation but yes, there is a growing market of inelastic demand from a circular economy of users who need bitcoin to survive.

Unfortunately, Bitcoin hasn't eaten much market share from the US dollar with arms trading and terrorism but it has been slowly eating away market share in these categories:

Drugs, gambling, prostitution, ransomeware, money laundering , capital flight.

This makes bitcoin somewhat of a blackmarket ETF where state governments heavily subsidize the value and premium of bitcoin by introducing regulation and laws which make bitcoin a valuable tool to route around these restrictions.

Therefore the best way to destroy much of the value of bitcoin is to make everything legalized and for all governments to become anarchistic. Thus Bitcoin is a hedge against anarchy and if you think governments and laws will continue to exist bitcoin has a bright future ahead.

People click "buy", deposit the bitcoins, and wait for the drug dealers to send the drugs by mail

Well, for now, bitcoin is used as an asset. there may still be some people who use bitcoin as a transactional tool for drugs, but I think that is the downside of the medium of exchange. even dollars are often used for it, by some particular people. very difficult to eliminate it.

I haven't tried buying drugs online but have seen alot of them in the dark net using tor browser. I used to check out some stuff there like account in Netflix and other streaming (wink wink) websites. The top selling items there are drugs and cracked accounts. If you will be buying drugs they will be sending it via mail and they ship internationally to the whole world. The website also has escrow service and the sellers are required to give a security bond before they can sell in the website.
