What about Nxb7? Will that work? We grab the pawn but we are not improving our position. Undecided

f3: 1 vote (GoldTiger69)
Nxb7: 1 vote (Morecoin)

I like the idea of f3 (to free our rook) but am scared of 32.f3 Nc3+ 33. Ka1 Ne2

I love extra pawns but our rook and King are still stuck after 32.Nxb7 Rc8

How about 32.Nb5 with the goal of capturing a3 instead of b7? At least our king would not feel as trapped in the corner afterwards.

The key to this endgame is piece activity. Good luck to both teams.

This seems more like general advice than advice for this move, but it is still something to think about.

f3: 1 vote (GoldTiger69)
Nxb7: 1 vote (Morecoin)
Nb5: 1 vote (boolberry)

Tbh, I don't see a problem with 32.f3 Nc3+ 33. Ka1 Ne2 then 34.Ne4. We are gonna have our Rook free.

I think we should move King instead to protect the pawns on the right (f,g,h)

Unless the vote changes, f3 will win 39 minutes from now after application of the tiebreaker rule (it reached 2 votes first)

We need a tie breaking mechanism. For example one can look at the result before the vote that led to the tie and use that instead.

I hope someone does change. f3 is simply giving control away in the very next move.

It's gaining control of our Rook, I already explained how.

Ka1 is not a good position for King when it should be moving to the right. See @letsplayagame's last comment for a hint. It does not gain control of Rook from your explanation, but far more damaging is sequestering the King in a file and now black Rook will come into play and pin things further.

What you don't see is that Ka1 is unavoidable, just think about it, please.

And, would you care to explain me how our Rook wont be freed? You said "It does not gain control of Rook from your explanation", can you explain why?

If we didn't move the f pawn, the next move for black, (after Nc3+, ofc), would it be Ne4, and then we would loose the f and the h pawn.

Actually, If we would follow 33.Nb5 Rd8 34.Nxa3 Nc3+ 35.Ka1 Rd2 we would be mated with Rxa2.
