Care to share what the problem was for  us still waiting?  It is not sounding fun on setting up.

Are there any recommended advice you or others have for anyone else who will be installing one of these?

He explain me how to remove the AP of the R1 to use the wifi to connect to my wifi and mine. Right now its the best option for me since I dont need a bigger wifi spot. I will try to make a small tuto to explain that.

Bitmain shipped out the R1 units pretty fast! I received mine already

Ok for some, ordered as soon as they were released from Bitmain, had a shipment email on 12th October, but no shipping information, no further emails and now my account shows unshipped.

Ordered one from Itop as soon as they put them up for sale, was told "the product will be shipped within 3 business days" but have just recieved this.

The comments for your order are: We are really sorry , Bitmain delay our purchase from them again.
I just called them they are not able to send products to us that they promised deliver within this week .
and they are still not sure when they can send out .
We can full refund you if you can not wait .

Ok, I decided to play around with one tonight. Tricking the R1 into solo mining on another pool didn't take too long. I also have a U3 plugged in and running at full speed so we'll see how long it stays up...

You'll note that the self contained chip runs under a different instance of cgminer than the U3s, both kicked off by scripts in the /etc/init.d directory. /etc/init.d/cgminer and /etc/init.d/cgminer-u3 respectively.

You can edit the cgminer script, setting the pool user, 3 pools, and comment out the user prefix added to pooluser1 to unleash your R1. Make sure to make a backup and don't blame me if you brick your device!

ps: i ordered two, got stuck with $21 charge by UPS, and the box they shipped in could have held 12-16 units. actual design is quite solid (could not seem to dissassemble it easily) and it works in a typical north american outlet (might be a loose fit for some receptacles though)

There's a line that prepends some data to pooluser1. :R1:somethingsomething:$pooluser1. Comment that line out.

You can always check the full commands that are being used for the cgminer instances by running this command:

ps | grep cgminer

I'm going to play around a little more this weekend. I want to get the internal chip enumerating under the U3 instance so you can easily set the pools. I'm also going to try and get ckpool running on the R1, then solo mine against my own bitcoin instance.

^would love to see the modified exerts of /etc/init.d/cgminer since no matter what i do theres no effect, hashrate just seems to direct at antpool or something other than what i try to input

same for overclocking, i tried the 0983 for 125MHz, but it appears to have no effect

I guess you need to restart the process or just the router

you use your email address and there is a huge lag.. the site only updates like once every hour.

under the sub account drop down on the site where your email is you should see antrouter.

this should have all your worker info.


i still dont know what the advantages would be to leave it on antpool or put it on CKSolo pool.

they did say something at one time about earning points.. but that might have been miss information.. just like these things having a battery..

no its warm, on infrared its about 37c compare to 24c room temp.

its warm, but not hot at default.
at 6.4GH its a little toastier, but nothing major. I put on a few tiny heatsinks from USB miners to help carry the heat.
as mentioned, the unit is a sturdy aluminum case/heatsink. no vent holes, but the entire thing is evenly warm

connect to antpool: its your login email. mining takes up to an hour to show up (which is a bit annoying)

That would be the best thing about this product is if they figured a way to get rid of zombie.  If they did that I would be happy for that alone.

That would show a lot more sales of U3 and routers if the U3 does not zombie out.
