The price has been very flat since March. That is 5 months of what I assume would be some accumulation by the whales in preparation for the next pump hehehe.

AEON has the status of an experimental coin.
I think this will be experiments not only with technology but also with trade.

But can Aeon follow the same success of Monero? I remember the Monero community was stronger than Aeon in bearish times.

This post belongs in a trollbox. It brings nothing of value to the discussion. If you're going to make predictions give some reasons why you think so. Facts/information that is backing up your claim. Don't just throw out a prediction out of thin air, that's very boring for everyone else to listen to.

I'm pessimistic about AEON's price in the long term, say 5 years from now. AEON is insufficiently differentiated from Monero to have much chance of benefiting from it's own network effect.

I'd be in favor of doing something with AEON that Monero won't do, such as sticking with an ASIC-friendly approach.

Or a lightning network possibility... I agree that something has to give at some point. Throwing in funds to update the code up to Monero’s standards with the exception of having cryptonote-lite PoW is sort of silly.

The least we can do as a community is to throw up a FFS address in order to recruit someone from MRL, or better yet one of the youngins they get interested in coding through Sarang’s High School program to generate some ideas on how to make a lower fee/speedier confirmation coin that offers relative privacy.

I am not sure about ASIC.  Apparently on long term Monero is not immune to it either.

On my opinion advantage of AEON is a small block chain. But the question is if 60 gb, that Monero have, is a lot at all.   With bulletproofs additional blockchain growth will reduce a lot.

Agreed, and I suggested that before the ASIC killing hardfork, but the whole community was against centralization and the industrialization of Aeon mining. The hobby miners also did not want their golden goose taken away from them.

It was a missed chance for Aeon to secure more hashrate and become the one of the most secure among most altcoins.

All my buy orders from 10,000 satoshis to 15,000 satoshis were closed and confirmed hehehe. I hope some of you are taking this chance before the release of Les Pristy's radio mesh network project. Aeon has the blocks that are light enough to broadcast through radio. Monero does not.

Do you by chance have a link for more info? If any coin has a substantial amount of transactions, whether a bitcoin 1 mB block network or Monero’s dynamic blocks, I would imagine gets too “heavy” for any type of radio broadcasting. Then again I don’t know much about how much data radio waves can put out per X amount of time.

Les Pristy will not release any information unless there is a working prototype, I reckon. I hope he makes the hardware specifications opensource so other engineers can contribute and make its development faster.

You guys are being shit heads, but it brings up a valid point.  Would be nice to attract at least a second professed full time developer to this, which shouldn't be so hard considering what it is.

@Belmyl. Agreed. But no one is interested to contribute in a small opensource project other than the present members of the community. Aeon is lucky to borrow stoffu from the Monero Research Labs. But it would be better if he stays.

EDIT: tradeogre is now the first market for aeon, and hitbtc is very low.

@wavessurfing. But it is still very far from where Aeon's activity should be. Scams like bytecoin have more undeserving activity hehehe. It is lucky to be listed in a large volume exchange like Binance.

I hope Aeon will find its own luck also.
