I don't agree with this. It just makes the problem worse. Sure you could win and pay but that is not a safe scenario. I'm not against gambling, but you shouldn't gamble what you don't have.

Well, some people makes a living loaning money, they have high fees, but that's how they work.
I didn't understood what your trying to say here. Are you trying to say some lenders to don't care to lend money to gamblers as long as they get profits?

I don't think that OP is talking about loaning just to gamblers, just loaning in general. Honestly I think lenders don't care who they lend to as long as they get profit, but there's no way to see if the gamblers that they loan to will make a profit or not.

Avoid lending coins to people who gamble that money , the worst part between Drunker and gambler is that drunker will quit after his stomach is filled or he cant drink the whole barrel but a desperate gambler will even sell his clothes and gamble nude , he may lose control of his sensibility in cash disbursement which will surely make his life horrible.

Sometimes i agree to let people borrow small money for gambling. But honestly, we are not in hurry to earn profit by gambling. Just play "fine". More greedy we are, we just will have more loss.

It is clear as its title "Do you agree people barrow money for gambling?" means that OP is just focusing on loaning for gamblers only, not loaning in general. Based on many threads in the Loaning section, most lenders ask for some requirements like forum rank, reasons, and collateral. It means that the lenders are care to whom they want to lend the money.

Do you agree people barrow money for gambling?
Nope. If you they lose, then they need to start making money again to play. Why you need to take loan for just playing gambling?
That's not make sense.

I could only think of one reason where I agree that person lends money to gamble. That is if he has enough money to pay it back right away, or maybe when he is pro at poker or something.
But otherwise hell no why would you lend money for gambling of course you can get lucky and win. But when you lose you are in debt so no.
The only way you should lend money is sort of what you said, if the person is a pro, lend them the money. If not, don't do it. If they have the money to pay you back why are they using your money in the first place? oh really ? what if the pro player whom you lended money lost and the newbie got lucky ? gambling.... the only time you can lend a person is when he has the funds to return the loan back.

Friends sometimes borrows cash from me to gamble and whenever i have spare i lend it to them but just in limits. Oftentimes i get paid back during their paydays Sometimes you just have to be considerate for the sake of friendship but there should be limitations.

Loan is a thing that is borrowed, especially a sum of money that is expected to be paid back with interest. The topic says "Do you agree people barrow money for gambling?" loaning is about borrowing a sum of money so it make sense actually.

I think many of the gamblers even when they don't have money for gambling but they barrow money for gambling. Do you agree on this?
Well, a person with well senses, borrows money for a thing like gambling only when he knows that he's gonna loose that money and only when he has an alternative source to payback when he looses. People who borrow money with no source of income and people who lend money to these borrowers are both at fault and will suffer in the long run.

If you do not lend, you will lose the friend. If you lend too much, he cannot repay, you will also lose the friend.

Borrowing money for money is just dumb and dangerous if you ask me. This is the best way to ruin your life.People doing this are really addicted to gambling and need help.

Honestly, if someone doesn't want to be your friend because you won't lend them money (I'm not talking like $5 here and there to buy like a limited edition Harley on auction for a steal) then you don't really want them as a friend. All they see you as is a walking ATM which is kind not what friends are for. Also commonly stated advice, if you have a friend you're willing to lend - make it a gift rather than a loan - often times it'll be shitty and awkward to ask for money back. If they're a good person - they'll repay you anyway - at least this way you get a character judgement - which can be worth a lot more when you have a scenario when you need an actual friend.

if you have a friend you're willing to lend - make it a gift rather than a loan then it is not gonna be called loan anymore! the topic here it borrowing money for gambling and I think giving gift to a person that is loaning from you isn't borrowing at all, let's just say for instance someone borrows from you then instead of lending him money you will give it as a gift, then you are helping him with his addiction more than helping him to stop in gambling!

Giving out free money will make people more lazy and luck dependent rather than hard work dependent. The total world works properly when everybody work for their food. When someone gets extra money he makes unnecessary things to disturb other people. Borrowing money for gambling will make people pressurized and free money will make people to addicted to gambling. Both needs to be avoided in any situations.

yup! that is what I'm try to say here, I don't know maybe he's saying to give gift because that is his friend and not the money, well let's just wait for him if what really is it? but if he is just giving money for gift that is another story and his friend might get addicted to it then his not helping out.

Never ever borrow money to gamble. You will make a lot of enemies very quickly. Never ever ask people to borrow you money, it isn't worth it to lose friends because you have a problem. Now if you are investing in a poker player that is different, but it is still a gamble, you are basically betting on the poker player to win.

exactly that was my point , I said before that borrowing money in order to gamble in casino games is totally wrong but borrowing money to play poker when the play is a good player is good for both sides , it's a good investment when you invest in a good poker player but also it's a long term investment
