Should Bitcoin's logo color be gold, and not orange?

Orange is fine, and it has been 6 years since bitcoin was invented, and the logo stayed as is even though there are some variations to it. For me, orange represents cheerfulness and joy, similar to what you just said in op.

I too like Orange color. It's brightest color which mean bitcoin's revolution to be brought by bitcoin. On the other hand I personally feel gold color also more meaningful. Because bitcoin is a digital gold. So gold color will symbolize all the representative of digital gold.

I dont think its a good idea PR wise to pick gold, looks too desperate to try copy something which bitcoin is not.  Maybe no colour is best but we have brand now with orange so should keep it.

Like many others, I would vote for orange.

Gold is the colour of the precious metal, which makes people think about money (fiat), however bitcoin is based on computer, network, calculations etc. but nothing about fiat.

And for the orange colour, it was chosen by satoshi when bitcoin starts, and hence it is legendary and should be kept. Also if a paper wallet is printed in orange instead of gold would look better (and printing a 'gold bitcoin' paper wallet with reflecting surface would cost more).

For the scarf, I think gold would be a better choice, but of the logo of bitcoin it is definitely orange!

the gold could be an improvement but the factor of printing into just one color its impossible cuase gold uses brwon orange yellow gradient and the vector file of it would need to be changed and for printing into one color just its better this way and its also already a trade mark for btc to be orange like some flags of europe and right wing politiacl capital porpuses like holland to japan

I'll be sticking with the orange just because I can't be bothered to edit my website.  Besides, I'd say the colour is pretty flexible anyway.  CoinDesk, for example, use more of a yellow variant and it's not like anyone cares.  

i agree, bitpay, coinbase, bitstamp, kraken should be the people pushing for advertising. as for the logo..
even visa tries to change its logo


so try making something new and then send it to the main bitcoin service companies and give them the freedom to use the logo in all there advertising... but make sure its good, better then previous versions otherwise it will just get ignored.

I think they've changed it again since that one.  There's no yellow at all in the logo on my latest card.

eh. I can go with a simple big BTC with white background. doesn't really matter. bitcoin doesn't have a central authority so creating an "official" logo for everyone to use would be pretty hard.

There should be a taste for accounting. I am just doing what I think is right. We need something more enticing to motivate people to use our currency, and...this is probably the first step. Changing that color.

Every color has different affect on different individual.What might entice one,can completely put off other.I dont think more people will start using or stop using bitcoin because of its color

i kinda like it as orange , a gold bitcoin logo just wouldnt set right with me. its been orange for years now and everyone identifies bitcoin with that logo, it shudnt be changed

Orange looks good but I would have liked it if the shade was a bit lighter and it having a gold border would have been great as well. The logo has been designed well and I've recently printed its logo as well

In terms of fashion, gold goes with anything though. It'll be more eye catching.
