Not sure about that. I downloaded (IOTA Wallet-2.5.4.dmg) mine last night and did a test transaction from Binance without issue.

Can I get confirmation that this site: https://iotaseed.io

Is the official seed generator and SAFE? Also, I’m assuming it’s recommended to generate the seed offline or within a secure network environment?

And thanks to bitcoin unconfirmed tx I missed the big dip 😢

Don't use random online seed generators, too many people have been scammed. The only one, that is recommended is the one on this site and even then I would change some characters by hand: https://matthewwinstonjohnson.gitbooks.io/iota-guide-and-faq/getting-started/dl-wallet/what-is-my-seed.html

A lot of people use keepass to generate their seed, which is also fine.

Binance was open from 9:30-11:30 pm (at least) eastern time US last night, suspended again now.

If I change the seed  manually, can I still gen a brain wallet?

Thanks!

IOTA is good for whales, whales are strong holders, not like general weak hands. I think liquidity of IOTA is quite good because it is listing on major exchanges.

Do you think whales trust their big money to alpha level technologie that might take weeks to transfer to an exchange if at all?

I know and can confirm whales don't care about temporary network congestion, wallet difficulties at all, since they aren't day trading but investing in future, and they do it after due diligence with full confidence, they are not in hurry to take funds out.

just in case if you are into crypto since early days, can you recall beginning of ethereum and monero?

I personally spent like 3 days taking my funds out of monero just because [mymonero] wasn't working and I had to go through downloading whole blockchain and do a lot of stuff to get my funds out of wallet via CLI/CMD.

I am here since quite a while but under a different account which I lost. I was mining bitcoin on CPU, lost some to the first MtGox hack in 2010 or so and unfortunately did not really believe in bitcoins success Sad Whatever...

But even in that times bitcoin transfers have always been  reliable and I understood the crypto behind it good enough to know the funds cannot get lost once they are in the blockchain. In the moment I do no have the same trust in IOTA. If it would work, the concept is great, but I do not see that it works like it should. And I am not sure if the current problems can be overcome or if it is a more general problem of the concept, not the implementation.

Excellent organised roadmap as well as responsible community with low percentage of dumpers.
It would be desirable to see opening some campaigns like signature, translate etc.
Increase would be huge! Please consider that!

An important update on the disappearance of IOTA in the Windows / Android portfolios has been put in place by the IOTA team.
Those affected by this issue are invited to return to https://iotarepair.org. Once the repair done your IOTA will present again on your seed.

Stop scamming people.

I'm testing the IOTA wallet and wow, I've had several instantaneous transactions, some have taken no more than 6 hours, considering it's free, it's amazing, I see it quite well after having tried many other purses, even with btc I've had transactions more than one day pending.
In the IOTA wallet, we must insist a lot on the search for a good node in the light purse for a good connection, it's amazing, great project.
Keep going !!!!

I hope the Andoid wallet starts connecting to its dedicated node soon since it is kind of my IOTA playground (and advertisement vehicle).

IOTA selected by Tokyo Metropolitan Government Program

We are really happy to announce that the IOTA Foundation has been selected by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government to participate in their accelerator program, aimed at helping IOTA get established in Japan and connect with local companies to work together on innovative new solutions for the Japanese and the global market.
Official Website: http://www.seisakukikaku.metro.tokyo.jp/bdc_tokyo/english/bizcamptky/blockchain/index.html
Official Press Release: http://www.seisakukikaku.metro.tokyo.jp/bdc_tokyo/assets/pdf/en/news-events/2017/20171222_2_blockchain.pdf

With the rapid growth of IOTA in Asia and the increasing interest of Asian companies to work with IOTA, we think that this is a unique opportunity for the Foundation to setup a dedicated, staffed office in Tokyo with support from the government and start working with the local ecosystem. Several of the Founders and Core Developers will frequent Japan during the program and the Foundation will setup several Meetups and Events to help kickstart IOTA’s growth in the Japanese community.

The program will last for 2 months, with several events on January 15th, February 23rd and March 16th. More than 18 Japanese companies are participating in this program and will be mentoring the selected companies. We are incredibly excited about this opportunity and are looking forward to work with the various stakeholders.

If IOTA devs are thieves then you shouldn't wait for your tokens. Why would a thief return something?

I note the release of yet another new wallet - and still no word of any form of help from anyone from the dev team who decided to "appropriate" IOTA in the form of a snapshot.

For all the FanBoi's here who are screaming support of this - wait until your IOTA dissapear in the next snapshot and see how great you feel about IOTA then.

Can you just imagine if you replace IOTA with Bitcoin, or Ethereum and the official story was that the Devs did a snapshot - They have your Bitcoin/Ethereum - and there is seemingly no way of getting them back - despite following what crappy instructions are put out.

Am I spamming? Report me!

This is probably the news before Christmas David indicated. One should also follow before the turn of the year if I interpreted his mystery word correctly. Sill missing information about the South Korean visit of IOTA officials. Maybe a big deal with an Korean electronic giant?  Wink
