Bitcoin is immortal because it isn't a coin, when you understand it is a decentralized network of trust, then you understand that with the time, the trust is becoming bigger.
That's interesting but the fact that trust is growing with time is debatable

Complete technical devastation would easily achieve it. If there was something insurmountable then people would run for the door. The market is thin enough for a death spiral to happen in a few hours.

it can only go to zero if a major flaw is found in the protocoll or the encryption is easily hackable some day in the future.

if nothing like this happens i would bet a lot that it never goes to zero again.

bitcoin is an open source project. everything can be solved in quite a quick fashion. a flaw can make the price go down a lot, but not to zero.

Even in the case of a nuclear war and Internet going off, I think still will have some value for collectors that would pay for a paper wallet or something with Bitcoin stored.

I think that it will require few months up to few years
To reach that price, but to have a reason, which i believe that there isn't.
If bitcoin will be banned in most of the countries maybe on that time.

If you make an order to sell 1 bitcoin for $0, theoretically bitcoin price already crashed to $0
Someone'll buy bitcoin before it's reached $0, so i think it's impossible

But, if bitcoin price crashed $0, most likely internet is dead too, which means world is in chaous Sad

Well as far as i know you can't make an order with $0 value.
At least in Yobit i get an error which i think that it is same also in other exchanges.
Error Total transaction amount is less than minimal total: 0.00010000

Even if the price suddently crash with no reason Roll Eyes, why people would leave it ? Those who have a lot of BTC, would lose a lot of money, but what for the others ? That's simple : when someone will want to buy 1BTC in 2015, he will simply buy 250BTC or so. It won't hurt newcommers, who will be able to win a lot because if it come to this price, it won't stay there a long time.

There are almost zero possibilities for sudden price crash as we can see increase volume of bitcoin trading now a days. This means no one can move the market towards one direction. Lot of people are waiting to buy even in some $10 slide also.

ive seen this before, not as drastic as going to $0 but people have been able to crash the prices by selling a shit ton of coins at one time with extremely small prices. and it pushes the price down for a bit but it comes bck up soon right after because people know bitcoin isnt going anywhere

How will it happen?

Will it just suddenly one day drop to $0?  Or will be a slow painful bear market finishing near $0 but never quite reaching at?  Some believers will never sell no matter what price ??

What do you guys think?

I think this is a crap thread & bitcoin will never go to $0. You must find better ways to troll -D.

Yes will never go to zero even a big whale start his sell off. This is because there are lot of buyer now days waiting to buy at every prices levels. Even a price under $200 also will not hold in this current trend it will revert back to normal price immediately.

there simply aren't enough coins on an exchange to dump it down to zero as they can put up 200,000btc buy walls at $1 or $2

you just need to disrupt the whole mining activity, to make bitcoin worthless

not that hard to do, if they can't earn money anymore out of their mining equipments, bitcoin will be doomed for sure

I think that the price to be completely zero,
I imagine a scenario if satoshi comes back and buys all the bitcoins.
And if he buy all the coins he can manipulate the price and change the price as he wants, $0 too.

With the prices at $0, anyone can buy. What is the point if the creator bitcoin will come and buy. If he comes and buy all the coins means, we can see $1M price for one bitcoin as Satoshi is well known for long hoarding of big amount of bitcoin for more than 5 years.

I don't know that you have the option to buy anything at 'zero'
In the poloniex exchange you should make an order at least of 0.0001
Also there is 0.2% fee, how would you cover that when you want to buy at 0$ ? Pretty confused.

Well it could probably happen but it wouldn't be that easy and it will need a lot of factors for that , one of them miners stop mining because they are not making profit anymore , that's why more people should be mining and open mining farms . Still ... a billions of dollars market-cap business won't die between one night and another .

Yes I know. This is only pure suppositions on what would have happened if it ever reached this point.
