If there's a LEGIT "Face of the league" right now, it's him. Let's add ANT to the mix as well when it comes to that, but how Wemby is playing right now is just very different compared to other players. Also with his height, many including me expected that he will be more injury prone, but that isn't the case because he's very careful of his body, and he's doing the treatment that he needs to do in order for his body to remain healthy.
As for the DPOY, I think he will be getting it, but as for the MVP, I don't think that it will be that easy for him but he's not that far compared to SGA and Jokic especially with SGA. Only 3 players have done it in NBA history just like what you said, so it will be a hard task for him, but not impossible. Anyway, the Spurs are going to the playoffs already just by looking at their record and the remaining games (although there's no confirmation yet), so let's see how the Spurs will be performing in the playoffs for the first time since 2018-2019 season.
Yeah, they know the risk and the consequences. He knows it as well, that's why they are careful and are doing just fine taking care of him. I hope they can keep it that way so he won't also become one of the biggest “what ifs.” Right now, getting the MVP is kinda slim, but who knows, maybe a few years from now he will get it. Also, he should have gotten his DPOY in his rookie year if not for his team being near the bottom.
