The beginning to All-Star weekend was good, that Rising Stars tournament was good as well everybody was competing and it was great to see. I guess they really lit a fire under the NBA to make the weekend more competitive as far as the actual games are concerned. That VJ Edgecombe is a problem man is very clutch and just a dog out there, I was happy team Vince won that tournament (been a fan since Raptors day) but those guys are gonna be good from what I was seeing.

And the format is new but it's very competitive, no more 4th quarters, everyone needs to show their game and so with that VJ is clutch and put his name again for the contender of ROTY. Initially he was leading the race for us, until Cooper Flagg show why he is number 1.

So it's going to be a very close race between the two.

Tomorrow is much more exciting, 3 point and then the slam dunk. Hopefully it will be a great and exciting day again. Rookie Kon Knueppel is the favorite followed by Dame in the 3 point shooting contest.

I don’t read the updates on the all star but I’m sure they are improving it considering how boring the previous all star. Now that USA against the World format means there will be some motivation for competition since there’s a country pride on the line.

Dunk contest is not that appealing compared before so I usually skip this event. McClung is the only reason I watch it before.

Everyone at Lakers played decent, when everyone plays decent they do a fine job. The problem with Lakers is that when they have both Lebron and Luka on the field at the same time, they do not know what to do. Last night Luka didn't play, so Lebron was the leader and he elevated everyone with him and they won, even after 40+ years old he still can do that.

And when Lebron misses but Luka plays they are once again great, those are all great and if you loo kat stats you will see that's true. But when those two play together, they suddenly start to suck so badly that it becomes a problem.

Well they are both ball dominate players as well, Luka came from a position of leadership before going to the Lakers and obviously Lebron is used to having the ball also with his play making abilities they just have to learn to co-exist but for how long until Lebron eventually gets up out of there.

Yup I agree the new format is better it definitely needed more competition, yeah VJ has a great future ahead of him for sure and Cooper Flagg too.
I haven't even looked to see who's in the dunk-off yet, and Dame for sure will be the favourite to win the 3pt contest for sure who wins? That I don't know will be tuned though and see wassup.

Would have said Dame would win but he's been out for how long now? He'd definitely be rusty. Kon could win this by a landslide judging by the 3 point record he has set this season. But the 3 point contest's pressure is different.

Ya true he could be rusty but these are pro basketball players, that muscle memory is an incredible thing and plus it's not like he would be sitting around doing nothing. Can imagine he would wanna be back in game shape at least and this 3pt contest is how he can at least perform in front of the crowd plus it's his home state too so family probably there as well.

Looking forward to the All Star festivities. Really glad that tomorrow’s games will be streamed on Peacock. The NBA needs to find a partner and stick to them once all this airing games on different networks is deemed a failure. I’ll take what I can get when I can get it though.

How many star players sit out half the season for load management bs? How many fans get fucked over because they bought expensive tickets to a game and the player they bought them for didn't play? These pussies are coddled bad. Look at the NFL. Those guys play 17 games a year injured and fighting the whole way.

I personally think the fine should have been alot higher to deter teams from doing that shit. 20 million or something and take away a draft pick.

The policy was already there before, but they’re still doing it. Maybe the fine isn’t hurting them enough, that’s why it needs to be increased. If the penalty is too small, teams won’t really take it seriously.

Actually now, load management has already lessened compared to before. But if I remember correctly, during the time when Kawhi Leonard won a championship with the Toronto Raptors, he was always on load management.

I didn't know that Saturday Night broadcast started so early. I already missed the 3-point contest. I was wondering if Lillard could win after coming back from injury and he managed to do it.

As for the dunk contest, I've lowered my expectations to the minimum. We haven't seen a good competition in recent years. Since the participants are usually players we don't see much during the regular season, what will come out is a complete surprise tonight.

Ever since Aaron Gordon was robbed twice, there has been a bitter feeling around the Slam Dunk Contest. McClung won 3 times in a row, it had started to feel boring. Maybe seeing new faces compete will be nice.

I really thought he would win seems according to the current rating and current three point show he is putting in the league, also Devin have the chance to win it, but miss the 2 money ball, that could been huge and a turn around, but Damian almost not missing in the last phase so congrats to Damian and hope he can return, he seems to be in good shape, for knueppel there is another all star game next season for sure he will be in it again, he will come back strong for sure.

It is a very good tournament that being played, i think we have had a very good weekend in the All-Star game, the game I have seen have been impressive so far, they obviously wanted to make the NBA week a spectacular experience for, I’m hoping to see more exciting games coming in the All-Star games, Keshad Johnson was very impressive after winning the slam dunk Champion, Team Vince also defeating team Melo to win the championship is quite an impressive game as well, it was fun and interesting to watch, it was a highly competitive game in the NBA All-Star game.

Actually it started since he was in Spurs and that is why the reason the San Antonio let him go. Since he got injured in the play-offs vs GSW he change a lot.
Teams are doing the load management for the longetivity of their superstar but a failure for the fans. Now, Many superstar are not eligible to take any awards becuase of missing too many games.

That dunk-off was terrible to say the least but the rest of the Saturday games we're good though, but that dunk-off was meh. So basically Mac McClung set a crazy precedent going forward for that event now everybody just doing basic dunks maybe a little creativity but not really, they should bring in real dunkers and have a battle with them to make it more interesting.

Or maybe we have seen almost all the dunks for a NBA Player? Vince Carter show it how to do that spin and over the legs dunk and then Lavine and Gordon was the pinnacle of this competition. Unless they get McClung again, but he ain't a good NBA player.

Kon didn't have a good second half, Booker choke in his last 3 balls and then Dame took the 3 point contest again. I thought that Kon can make a history here being a rookie but he looks tired in the final round while Dame was in the zoned.

Dunk contest now lost its usual thrill, if we compare it on what we usually for past events before. That effortless dunk made by Hayes looks like he's still doing warm ups, he face heavy criticism for lacking of creativity which people looking up into this kind of contest.

Fans looking to see some highlight or great dunks from the participants, but it seems they didn't see that  this year. Crazy that NBA didn't look for quality dunkers to make this event became more entertaining. People watching that event got disappointed since it seems like they are just watching regular games on NBA.

Damn, experience really won this one. Even though Knueppel made it past the first round, in the end, the most experienced guy still took the trophy, which is Damian Lillard.

I honestly thought Devin Booker would win the contest. But sadly, on the last rack, which was the money rack, he only made like 2 out of 5 if I remember right. Because of that, he couldn’t beat Lillard’s score. Still, it was fun to watch. Knueppel should come back next All-Star. Now he already has the experience, next time there will be less pressure on him.

Clearly the dunk contest is dead, they should make a rule that the best dunker should participate in the dunk contest, it should be mandatory so that the audience could watch the best dunker in the league, or for the players to step up, they should make a big prize, clearly this is what the fans are looking for the dunk contest because its where players showcase their skills on how to make jaw dropping dunks, and make the crowd roar , should the NBA and the teams make it happen?
