I understand its just preseason but seeing players like ingram giving their %100 is hyping me out. I mean we know lakers would have to get a drastic change in the direction get even close to the western conference let alone finals because they will have to face teams like okc, rockets, spurs and of course warriors just to get there but if they are lucky about the seeding they can definitely get to western semi finals and that is an amazing chance for the young players to develop on playoffs.

They had these young players for couple years now but failed to get to playoffs so with lebron and the new vets these kids will see playing time at the biggest stage of the game.

Lakers young guys must give their 100% even for a pre season game because they are watched closely by the veterans and their performance will be the basis on how much Luke Walton will give them playing time on the court. It's a good chance to show how good they are now and Lakers can really rely on them on a dead ball situation.

I believed Lakers will reached playoffs. Not chances but it will happened.

I've used to be a fan of the NBA but not anymore.  The league is filled with entitled crybabies that make  over 10mil per year.  They go out and buy rolls royce cars and mansions while their own city has homeless people.

Its not their responsibility to feed the homeless people. They worked hard for what they have achieved. I remember there are number of NBA players who has been abandoned by their family, came from the poor family, and others cant even afford college without scholarships.
Are you not informed that NBA has charity, including individual NBA superstars have it. But, they cannot cover all the homeless people from their country.
If you dont like NBA anymore, then you are not forced to like it. NBA is a business after all.

Correct. But what he said at the first part may be true.
They are getting more sensitive now when it comes to physicality.
Worse is they want too muuch respect rather than do defense until the end of the game.

Remember that time last year when Clarkson threw the ball to a Utah player for dunking the ball at the last second of the game.

If you dont want others to get points then do defense.
They should really erase that kind of system with this players.
The game is still on and anyone can do anything as long as it is in the rule book.
That is just their own rule of showing respect but should not be happening. That is why most viewers are exiting the building once there is 20 point lead in and there is still 2 minutes of gametime.

It's their money so they are entitled to whatever they want to purchase.

They've worked hard for it so what's the matter if they are buying rolls royce, lambo's or any luxury that they want? this is why most of the athlete's are investing through hard training so they can make easy money with their chosen sport. And same goes for NBA athlete's, their trainings and the hole that they entered before reaching that salary isn't an easy thing. Fame, fortune, follows due to the hard work and result of the training and performance.
It's a human nature actually, we change our way of living depending on what we earn.
We are not all born rich so we want to experience the power of money when we have it by doing everything we want, you are right, they work
for it so they deserve to enjoy the reward.
They deserve it.

Human nature or not, you are living to another state which you can avail almost everything because your contract is now high, if you are a professional athlete whether in basketball (NBA) or any other sport. People who are worrying and talks about the homeless people aren't even taking the notice that these professionals are helping those less fortunate without even publishing on medias.

One of the best jobs here in this world is being a professional Athlete. You are having fun at the same time you are being paid as long as you will be giving a great performance in your team.

They deserve what they have. They sacrificed a lot of things so that they would be able to attain what they had now. Also, if you don't know there are a lot of Athletes that help poor people, NBA has NBA Cares and if you don't know that well, at least you know now. NBA created a lot of outreach programs, not only them, even players, from a lot of places now so I think they really deserved what they have now.
That's how great this league was able to deliver, they are just silently doing charities including superstars individually, though it's not that much out from their respective salaries aside from those sponsors and commercials, they do deserve what they've got as it is not that easy to be selected and able to play from this league, a lots of inspiring individuals who wanted to played but only few who got the chance and enjoy the success.

That is right. Playing in that league I think is one of the hardest things to keep if you will not be valuing it. A lot of athletes out there struggles on their trainings, their exercises and their diets just to keep their bodies and skills developed every time. It is essential to them not only as an athlete but also as a player since Basketball has a lot of physical contacts going on in a game.

Well, its better to start in a good shape.
The Lakers have already a spot reserved in the playoffs with Lebron on the team and additional vets like Rondo and Stephenson. Mcgee on the other hand, seems to be a perfect compliment for the team. He had good numbers in the pre season, I hope he continues to do so and dominate the board. Im just too excited how Lebron lead a team full of young promising talents.

They have good players in the life up, with Lebron, they will have to play harder and motivated.
Lebron is a guy who can play in the big stage and he can lead this young guns to play tougher and reach their goal to reach the Finals and even win it.
I like Lebron's humbleness as he accept that the warriors are still the team to beat.

Maybe they are just practicing for the regular season on Oct. 17. I think they are putting their 100% in the preseason because the vets are watching them and it will determine who will play longer on the regular season.

Lakers will clinch into the playoffs no doubt about it. Its just the young players must practice more in order to cope up with the other veterans and good players of different teams.

I have watched Doncic while he played in Euroleague and the dude was a beast as a young kid but I think there was narrative for him as well. For example if you check the finals game with Fenerbahce that he was a no show.

Now, this doesn't mean he is not an amazing player, he is an amazing player, however do not think he really deserved the Euroleague mvp but he was given that because he was young and a great player and was going to NBA afterwards. Now that I watched him against proper players like Fultz and Simmons I can see what he could be. He would probably be worse than Simmons but definitely better than Fultz. So he is going to be good, but maybe not superstar, just all-star level, which is still insane.

He won't be any better than an average player in the league imo

I can't say if he'll be a superstar in the league, but I'm pretty positive that he'll be more than an average player.

In today's positionless basketball, Luca can easily fill out different spots on floor 1 through 4, for his size he has a great ball handling.

Don't forget that he has experience playing v grown man over the past few years, any way you look at it, it's better than college basketball.

I hate it when NBA players brawl. I mean this is a contact sport and there are times when someone does something silly like what Aines did with holding JR's arm like that or just couple years ago when Zaza unintentionally (or maybe intentionally?) injured Kawhi and all the things in between but the response should never be fighting.

This is not UFC after all, Marcus smart is an idiot for trying to start a fight between him and JR. After the fight he was still not apologetic and said "he is not a punk, jr knows where he is" which is still horrible and shows us he did not learned his lesson. NBA players should be example to the kids that looks up to them.

That's part of the game, some enjoyed it and honestly, I enjoyed it sometimes because I think it will add excitement to the game.
As long as this brawl will not injure anyone, it's fun to watch but if it's too much then they have to face the strict sanctions by the NBA.

This ain't no brawl Grin. Just gently pushing each other. Days of real fights/brawls are long gone. Ain't no Charles Oakleys' no more, all there is left are fake tough guys, and let me use Jalen Roses' reference: "Ho ho hold me back" type of plays. lol

what Aines did with holding JR's arm like that

That's an interesting way to spell Aron Baynes name. Cool
Actually, there's more to it...if you guys remember in 15' Olynyk dislocated Kevin Love's shoulder by locking his arm the same way. Celtics are probably still salty about what happened in May. hah

Lol aines Cheesy. In all honesty there is still too much injury prone stuff in NBA, for example this year they made standing under a shooter a foul and I think Flagarant ? So that's gone, the game is focusing more on offense than defense and if its to stop injuries that's good but they have banned hand checking years ago and that was not any injury prone play at all yet it is more offensive now because of it.

No one really defends each other that well anymore, players like Kawhi would have been the norm just 20 years ago yet in today's game he is regarded as the best perimeter defender out there. Not sure if its a good or bad thing but makes hell of an all star game Cheesy.

That hand check was taken out because their watchers are getting lower.
People are getting tired of the same game over and over again. The inside plays. From Duncan, Shaq and the big men until they retire the game.

Now they want to change the game and give opportunity to the outside plays and also to give viewers something new. So they took the hand check out. If I remember it very well, before the offensive player uses his arms too just so to give space for himself. MJ did this to Russell. But now, this is not needed. You are always free to make a shot. You just need to be an accurate shooter. Grin

Of course avoiding injury is what players in mind. Their future lies in their health to be able to play in so many games. Unlike NBA 20 years ago, the play has evolved from a hype dunking to a three point shooting game. The score of a basket is not from the highlights but from the shots made, so players nowadays does not totally concerned about the highlights they can make but only how they can shoot the basket without acquiring any injuries.

They are wiser now and they focus on money rather than their pride.
I like to see the old days, that's a real basketball for me and it's physical where mostly scores are close and that gives lots of excitement to the fans.
I think they'll have the evaluate again, fans like entertainment so much and they don't like lazy scoring to avoid injuries.

NBA needs to take care of its players, they need to make sure that the league won't lost a good player where fans are very delighted, it's no longer the time where the bad boys dominated and you need to have a guts like MJ to pursue your career, watching those old games from youtube we will be able to
determine how hard to become a superstar before than now where you just need to keep shooting the ball and have a better percentage to gain the fans admirations.
