Okay let me explain it a bit better for everyone who feels a bit confused about why Luka is getting more attention (and so does Lebron) compared to Giannis who had a 50 point game.

First of all Giannis was last years MVP, dude is already good, we all know he is good, hell he is not only athletically freak but also quite talented as well and having Brook Lopez at center allows him to grab more rebounds, but he was already MVP last year, do you really expect him to be a 18 ppg dude? Of course not, he has 31 ppg and 11pg which is around 4 ppg better and 1 rpg better on his 7th season in NBA.

Looking at Doncic dude is in his second year only and he is already at 30.6 ppg and 10.1 rebounds, now that is statistically only slightly worse than Giannis who has already won MVP on a team that is miles worse than bucks on the west conference, so of course Doncic at his second season looks to be better.

Lebron however is just the opposite, just like how it is marvelous that Doncic is as good as Giannis on his second season is the big difference, Lebron is averaging only 25 ppg but has 11 assists per game on his 17TH!! season, which is why everyone is saying Lebron and Doncic could be MVP this year, not because statistically they are different from others that much, of course there are people with slightly better stats but nobody is on their second or seventeenth season while doing it, they are on their peak.

It's a good point and he is getting a lot of attention because he is "the new kid on the block".  Will be tough to view mvp talks until like game 50-60 when I good half seasons worth of games are behind everyone and you can see who has been consistent.  Spencer dinwiddie was the player of the week, I dont expect him to keep it up, it's all about consistency

This is normal for the fans to assume and speculate who will be the MVP for this season although it's still early to think about it. Perhaps, we, the fans are overwhelmed about these performances made by our idols that why we can't help ourselves but to say that they are good to consider as the MVP.

Exactly because most of us didn't expect this kind of showing from Doncic.

Prior to the opening of the regular season, this kid is not even part of the MVP discussion, so with what is happening now, we can't blame the fans if they are surprise and overwhelm at the same time, and this kid's attitude is lovable, young and humble, fans like that.

Yes, he's on the hot seat now and the performance he's showing is undeniable that's why the discussions about these mvp talks can't be avoided.
Oh well, this is just another topic for the fans and it will be an unending discussion because there will be other contenders as we approach to the finals of this season which is still far away.

Giannis Antetokounmpo went for 50 points, 14 rebounds, six assists and two steals in the Bucks statement win over the Jazz. Milwaukee advances to an Eastern Conference-best 14-3 record behind the play of the reigning MVP, but it doesn't seem to be drawing much attention. Are we taking the Greek Freak for granted?

Giannis was not taken for granted dude. In fact, he is on the top 3 contender for the MVP race. Of course he can't be the MVP if the season is just starting and everything can happen along the way.

Oh well, NBA media and fans are so hype with Luca's performance and his entering into the discussions for MVP. And now Giannis put on a show as if saying that he is the reigning MVP and he should get the proper attention and respect he deserves in this season.

Luka was now popular now because this guy suddenly average a triple double, ..compared to Giannis which he will not likely to average that, his chance will only be double double (points and rebounds) while Luka can always make points as he holds the ball, can shot outside consistently and can drive the ball with some euro steps movement, and he can rebound as well.

His triple double compared to double double of Giannis, I guess people will choose the emerging star.

Stat wise, of course we will take triple double any time of the day. And just like you said, he suddenly emerge and make a break out year this season that's why NBA fans are going crazy with Luka right now. I hope that he can really go out this season and proved that he can be a MVP and also lead his team to conference finals so that there will be no doubt about his stardom.

Exactly, the battle for MVP is more comprehensive than just field goals, assist, etc. The winning MVP will be more than just points, assists, and blocks, he will also act like an ambassador of the NBA or to the whole sports of basketball. His ability to carry the team into a winning game, especially during clutch moments, will also count.

maybe because its just one loss and by their next game, we can expect that Luka will continue to improve his stats again.
Dallas will have a hard time putting pressure on the the Clippers team because they don't have one player only that is scoring, they need to stop PG, Leonard and Williams, if they can't do that, they should have improve their offense but they scored less than 100 in this loss.

Yup! Lou did a great job tonight . For me he is just underrated due to the presence superstars like Leonard and PG but one thing is for sure, he is a silent killer. His 3 points can contribute deep burden on the opposing side. So Clippers have 2 superstars + 1 super defensive Beverly and 1 shooter Williams, what anything else you could wish for. Is this the right combination of a new champ to be reigned ?

It seems that they need more of JJ's service. He is the only one I saw shooting on the 3 point range effectively. His caliber never fades, I hope his coach able to realized that. Mavs definitely need a veteran like him inside the hardcourt, maybe he is the key to prevent themselves getting massacred by other teams lol .

JJ will earn his minutes but I don't expect he will get as big minutes as the starters, he is too short and the Mavericks are running a bigger starter and look at their point guard, Luka is tall at 6"7 and yet he is still effective. Maybe they were just scouted pretty well and they have not prepared for the Clippers defense on them, for sure if they will quality in the playoffs, its gonna be a different story.
