He might mean claiming the first seed on each conference which is really a big possibility especially when you think about how both of them are far apart the 2nd best team on each conference respectively. And yes you are right having the best record is not everything but it does tell a lot on how dominant you are during the regular season sadly GSW didn't convert it to a Championship since Lebron beat them with an incomplete Cleveland Cavaliers. But what we are seeing now this early in the season might still change especially when the trade deadline is not until Feb of 2020 and a lot of things can happen especially upsets from the Playoffs.

Bucks will surely top the Eastern Conference this season but the competition there is tough. I didn't even consider Bucks as a dominant team in the East. I like the status of the Eastern Conference today unlike in the previous season where you can only sees top 1 to 3 as a contender.

I like the hype because this gives a better odds if you bet on the opposing team.
Just like last playoffs, I lose my bet on the Bucks because I was riding with the hype and underestimated the Raptors, this time if they ever get to the Finals, I will not hesitate to bet against them. Lakers or Clippers are my bet in the West to win, and they have two stars in the ring, so they'll have the edge but the hype makes the Bucks he favorites.

Lakers and Clippers taking the top seed while on the other hand we can see them suddenly losing to a lower seed team unlike in the East. It does not happen much there.

So if this standing will not move, (just an if, dont bash me please ) Lakers will be meeting the Suns which have defeated strong teams like the Clippers and 76ers. They are unpredictable or should we say inconsistent.   They might win or they might lose.
Next is the Clippers against the Kings which won against Mavericks, Rockets, Thunder, Nuggets and the Jazz. It is almost the same as the Suns. Unpredictable.
Love to bet with low seeds, my hobby actually is betting always on the losing team.   Hobby or sickness?

Me, Maybe if Giannis has a teammate like what Curry has when they made that record.

I will take Middleton as one of the good helping hand for Giannis. He is consistent. He can really score even with an isolation kind of game.
With Bledsoe also healthier by now there is a higher chance that they could break the record.

We saw it when they defeated the young Pelicans.
Middleton, Bledsoe, Lopez and Ilyasova combines is a real threat to every team they are against.
They are being dragged on how good Giannis is. This is also to tell that they can win without him although it will be easier when he is around.

Well, they need to prove that by starting to win games, it's just one game and we should not react on that automatically.
Bad teams can also win but they will end up with a bad record by the end of the regular season, not expecting the cavaliers would still make it to the playoffs or even in top 10.

Hah, they just got lucky today and won against a competitive team.

Of course, with their roster, it's really hard to compete because of the teams upgraded themselves. But if they just point their hearts on and Kevin Love be the center of their offense, I'm sure they can be a decent team again.

Did you guys just look at the scores? Spurs almost win that game but they made an error during the last seconds that results for Kevin Love finding an open spot and pushes the game for overtime. And in post-regulation, Cavaliers now owned the Spurs and sealed a win.

That's not luck. It's pure performance and team effort.

Anyways before anyone got overreact, my statement is limited only for the Spurs and Cavs game. Don't take that win, in general, like, "yeah they are just lucky but they will not enter the playoffs, yeah they are just lucky but they must show that in every game, yeah they are lucky but still not enough to be a contender" , etc. It doesn't make sense to involved that in the discussion on that win.

One win doesn't mean they are strong. Of course they need to compete since they are on the NBA, it's just that they are also lucky to get the win from the Spurs. The Cavs still got lots to prove and they are showing what they can do with their young core.

For such a young age but full of talents, I watch the game earlier and see him enjoying with his teammates. He's been well rested from the third quarter and explode again in the fourth, with Porzingris they have a very well chemistry together. Young Luka have a high IQ plus his shooting range really killing
his opponents, he's really become the big asset of the Mavericks franchise.

This is the kind of star that they should keep, he has a good chemistry with his teammates and at the same time, this young hungry team are crushing their opponent, so it's almost a sure thing that they will be in playoffs as long as Luka will remain healthy throughout the season and with his style of play, he will be less prone to injuries.

30 points with 17 rebounds. Not all forwards can make that kind of number but this is just a normal thing with Love.

Last game against the Rockets was 17 points and 11 rebounds. Despite coming out from an injury he is still playing strong. No signs of mental issues.
