I don't get it, how did a team that everyone was expecting to tank this season managed to become this good? Whats their secret? Is it any change that we saw but I missed? Are they playing a different way? I don't know what the answer is but I am %100 sure nobody expected them to be this good.

As I said before, we cannot underestimate the power of a pointguard.
If he is really that good then so will be the team also.

All the guys can score now without having the fear that Westbrook might not get his triple double.  Grin
They have Chris Paul who just want to be the best pointguard of all time and his name written in the the hall of fame.

New Years Game from Sportsbet.

SAS -10.5 @2.00
GSW +10.5 @1.82

I will take the risk for GSW. I am still a fan of the team even without Curry.
The Mavericks might have broken their streak but that is the Mavericks. So it is all good.  Grin

I think there's no secret here. Everyone is doing their job, and having a good shooting percentage. I also did not expect this, but it seems the everything has fallen into the right places, that's why the keep on winning.

So we might say that it is a good move to trade their franchise player so that they can achieved success in the future. I know it's ironic, but the management really did a good job here and it's a hard decision to let go one of the best players in NBA, but it's a good call.

They've send a healthy Oladipo to get a recovering PG then allow Westbrook to also leave them. Now they need to rebuild not sure how they can do it maintaining their chances to win over with their opponents but they really need to keep the franchise competes with other superior teams from the West side.

They relied on Westbrook too much but he was inconsistent in the last season, his average drop down compared to his average when he won an MVP award and him and PG alone can't carry the team, so both players are out and good thing CP3 was the one they trade for Westbrook.

Right now OKC has a reliable point guard and a good center in Kanter's hand. Now what's new was the rotation of the ball unlike when Westbrook is handling the ball where he always hug the ball for solo stats.

There's little to love in awful, three-point-heavy NBA game of today

Basketball's version of the home run has transformed the game into an unwatchable mess.

http://www.startribune.com/there-s-little-to-love-in-awful-three-point-heavy-nba-game-of-today/566540422/
That's right, this era of basketball has changed a lot. From a jaw dropping highlights reel of basketball to a mere three point shooting show. As a fan of basketball, I would still love to watch those highlight plays like dunks and acrobatic shots than today's three point shooting plays. Though these kind of plays minimize injuries for players, it shouldn't be used all the time.

This is the reason why I love watching defensive team more rather than an offensive one.
Let us take Houston as an example. Actually, the best example.
Harden's three point shots which is like 15 times average per game?  Grin How about the dribbles? 1000 per game?  Grin

I love watching the Denver Nuggets though, they follow the play and a three point shot may be their last option if they cannot penetrate the paint.

I'm with you on Denver, they should some excitement to us with the way they played.
We should blame the player of the century which is Curry for introducing this, now, even the big mans are already improving their  3 point shooting.

Denver's offense is more focus on their center so the design is the points should come from the inside.
If Jokic will be doubled, he will pass the ball outside, rotate it to shooters until they find a good spot, and not only him, other players are also good in attacking the paint and actually I really believe they have a shot this season, they will be better compared to the last season.

I don't think that Curry has bad intentions when he introduced 3 point shooting though. It's just a way to take advantage of the game and they really milk the hell of out if and become a champion. But soon, everyone is catching up, all of the players are shooting three's including the big man. And it revolutionised how the game is played. Now we don't have a 'true' centre, except maybe Joel or KAT but this guys are shooting 3's now.

Curry and Thompson, both are good 3 points shooters and have won the all star 3 point shooting in different years.
It's their team because their main offense is coming from 3 points shooters and they get better as they add Durant which is also a good 3 point shooting.

The new generation loved that, but us who were born at the era of Michael Jordan, we like to see a more physical games.

We have true centers in the persons of Dwight Howard and Andre Drummond because these two will never attempt to shoot 3.

LOL. It is his style so no one is being forced to recreate what he did.
Look at Pops plays, it is still the same even after the Curry era.
I believe some coaches and players are still into that 2 point plays only.
Curry though really made a bunch of effort to make something new and he did it. But not every player could do the same.
It requires a lot of practice and he proved it being the 2 time MVP.

The real denver of 80's and 90's was the actual fast run and gun that teams actually play today that nobody really understood the importance back in those days. They had the game with the most points in a game (scored against them) and their avarages were as high as 130 points per game at one point if I am not wrong. Nowadays everyone just uses only 10 seconds of the clock and shoots a three, there is barely any defense, and even if you try to "not defend" someone they get a foul called on them knowing like how harden does it, so its mostly free throws and three pointers.

Talent is certainly much much better these days, if you put any of current stars back into 80's, they would destroy everyone, they would literally score 50+ points every single game and break Wilts 100, however that doesn't give them right to only focus on offense as the whole league, I miss the times when defense meant not just "tall guy under the basket blocking some people" but actually getting inside others comfort zone and bothering them and tapping the ball etc etc.

Hand check rule made physical games in NBA obsolete. It is too easy to get fouls and I think that is the reason we have more crybabies in the NBA. They do not know how to play physical anymore.

LOL. It is his style so no one is being forced to recreate what he did.

Right. Also, look at Kawhi, he is still primarily a perimeter shooter. There are still players who preferred high percentage shots than long 3 pointers.

Theres no such thing about limitations on how a player should play and we know that being versatile would always be the best yet even you are on a centre position but you are capable on doing outside shots
which do really make out an advantage yet opponent team would really be confused on where they should focus to defend specially if most players on the field are capable on shooting 3s.
Im even shocked that Giannis is even good on shooting in the outside. No doubt this trend will continue on most teams.

Eyeing for the year end matches later. There's the most interesting match which is:
Bulls vs Bucks

Easy game for the Bucks.
They dominated Bulls and the good news is that Giannis returned to the pitch after 2 games already due to a back injury . The thing that concerns me is that Bucks get scoring solutions from Giannis and Khris. This was the 30th win for them.

The last match I bet for the Orlando Magic and the Miami Heat. Both of them lost !!! this really frustrates me. Because the opponents they face aren't that strong. The most ridiculous is Orlando. They were humiliated by Atlanta at home. The team at the bottom of the standings. What a gloomy day for me ...

They are not the first people to actually use the "Point Center" thing in basketball but Jokic is great with passing so people just focus on that.

If you are age allows it when the "triangle" was a success in Lakers Shaq-Kobe era, Shaq had insane vision, he was able to pass to people better than some of the point guards at the time, I know he didn't had the stats that Jokic had when it comes to assists and never broke over 4 assists a game on average but he was super powerful inside and could score at will if not was fouled most of the time so he didn't had to pass most of the time or even had the chance, but when he did dude was a prolific passer as well, remember Lakers convinced Shaq to join by saying they would allow him to playmake with the triangle system as well.

Shit happened and while thinking that the team is not that good and just easy to defeat ridiculous things will comes up and messed everything. Moving forward there's a lots of game tomorrow to place your bets try to assess whether again and pick the games you wanted to gamble your money. Good luck.

It's true there are still many NBA games that we can bet today. What I regret the least is I bet with small odds. Because looking at the statistics of both I am very sure they will win. Apparently not. Maybe they are not so determined to win because their position in the standings is pretty safe. Going forward it looks like I would rather bet on just total points than who wins and loses

It's not a worry for the bucks, even when Giannis is out they still score a lot of points.  Of course when they are in they get most of the points because the shot volume goes through them.  Like every other team and their top 2 players, other players are there to fill in the gaps and step up when one of them are gone.  Bucks are a really deep team unlike most other teams in the nba

Against a team that not really a top tier, yes it's an easy win for the Bucks even without Giannis. The Bucks has the momentum coming in to this game and they really did dismantle the bulls and I think their chemistry is what helps them win this match too.
