I do not really think that Lakers care about winning right now. All they care about is getting everyone back on the court and helping them get back on their schedule, as long as they have a 100% ready AD and 100% ready Lebron when the playoff comes, that is going to be more than enough.
I think that I'm agreeing with you on that.

As long as their roster is complete, no matter where they are right now, they're going to qualify to the playoffs with that strong they have.

They'll be having a match later against Portland Blazers and both of them has the same standing, 37 wins - 29 losses.

The sad news is that Lebron may still not play, and probably Davis is available but I doubt they'll win this game. As of now, the betting line is -7.5 for the Blazers, line tells that stars of the Lakers are missing, and who knows, Davis might not play too.

Yeah, but its likely to see him play on next week: https://www.cbssports.com/nba/players/playerpage/400553/lebron-james

"The goal is for James to be as close to 100 percent as possible while also allowing him some ramp-up time before the playoffs, especially since the Lakers are staring down a tough first-round opponent given their expected seeding."

He would really need to rest a bit before getting this tempo back.

Lucky for the Lakers the format is different now, even if they go down at number 10 ranking, they still have a chance to be in the playoffs if James will return. Also, we have to bet on him as he will keep his legacy, maybe NBA would help him achieve that, the king will definitely return soon.

Lakers has a chance to win this game against the Blazers.

Anthony Davis says he plans to play vs. Trail Blazers

It confirms no Lebron James, but having AD is good enough to determine the chances of the Lakers to win here.
They just have to maintain a good ball movement here and penetrate on their advantage which is the inside, I guess Drummond and Davis are strong enough to play the inside.

No SCHRODER also, time for the bench to step up.

NO and Philly game is getting real good 6 minutes to go.  Boston losing right now big to the bulls and Miami is up 1 and need both of them to lose.  Clear so.e room for the Knicks.  Knicks +6.5 to the suns.  With a night off and a bad loss 2 days ago I think they come out fired up.  Knicks 121-115 tonight.  Take it down!!

The Knicks vs Suns turns out to the hype so far.

Knicks trying to avenge their lost so this will get them extra motivation, they are still leading as I post this. But I'm sure the Suns will come back to make the game more exciting for us. But I will be leaning towards Randle scoring almost 30 points to carry his team again.

If they finish 6th they will play clippers and that is going to be tough but if they beat them on the first round, rest will be much much easier, at 7th they face Suns and at 8th they face Jazz both of which they can take out very easily if you ask me (Don't care about the standings). So, Lakers can lose as much as they can without going out of the playoff spot, and as long as they go to playoffs they are going to be fine. There is no point on trying very hard and going up a spot, because in the end they are not going to profit from it, they will face similar teams anyway.

You forgot about the play-in tournament.
Teams are forcing their way to make it at 6th spot so that they won't have to go thru the "little playoffs like" tournament.
Another reason is because it will be exhausting to fight against team that will give their all to make it to the playoffs.
How can they play well versus the top 1 or 2 seed (if ever they make it through the tournament) if they are too exhausted while the other team got their big rest.
They need this win against the Blazers today but they are being hammered harder by Lillard. But there is still the 2nd half so lets see.

Lakers badly need that 6th seed to escape the tournament and let AD and Lebron rest more while waiting for it to end.

Andre needs to put on gas during these few games if not they will be in turmoil in the last spot, AD already shows now he is healthy they only need LeBron to be back in the court, and Drummond needs to step up, he did not put on a double number tonight 8 rebounds and few points, this is bad for the lakers at this time he needs to wake up.

Unfortunately, Portland build a good lead, enough for them to really have a good cushion going into the fourth. Although Lakers was able to close the gap, it was not enough. AD had a good game tonight and so is Caruso.

But as you have said, Dame Time + CJ and Powell doing the damage. Lakers is really a sinking ship right now without Lebron.

Although Davis scored 36 points, it's still not enough for the Lakers to win. He missed his buddy, they can't win without him, and to think that Blazers are not really that of a good team and yet they still lose. You are right, they are like a sinking ship now, they need to break this losing streak if they want to be in the spot where they have secured a chance in the playoffs.

Chancellor on brink of second bailout for banks

First quarter yesterday was shit from Lakers. AD injury was another shit. LOL. How can you injure walking backwards alone.  I think he will be OK. We wil see it in next days. IF not Lakers might have problems even in play in.
Looks like the Lakers are in a bad position at this moment.
Lebron isn't 100% healthy and AD is into another injury again. Schroder isn't playing too.

I still remember the time where LeBron is complaining about the play-in format and it looks like they will be one of the 4 teams that will be playing in the play-ins. If the losing streak continues for them, they will put into a very bad position. Even though they will clinch into the playoffs, they will play with 2 of their superstars not 100% and the chances of them being eliminated from the first round is high. Right now, their bench players must step up if they really want to go into the playoffs or they will watch the playoffs in their respective houses.

I do not really think that Lakers care about winning right now. All they care about is getting everyone back on the court and helping them get back on their schedule, as long as they have a 100% ready AD and 100% ready Lebron when the playoff comes, that is going to be more than enough.

I think Drummond is still not 100%, that's why he can't really move and obviously can't contribute as he is hampered by the hamstring injury. So we can't really push him to have good numbers today, Caruso did step up today, but still he is also very inconsistent right now. I would say it's too late for the Lakers and they might want to look at next year with Lebron back healthy again.

Maybe he's on adjustment period with the team, maybe we can see him play well in play offs for now expect that they will struggle since their stars are not yet fully recovered on their injuries, Maybe the problem their is the system they should find better plays which suitable for their current lineup if lebron is out on the court.

He still has time to prove anyway, but if the Lakers will keep losing, I guess the time will come that they will fight for the playoff spot, instead of just focusing on winning the championship as that was our expectation with the Lakers early in the season. What really happened is, while the Nets are upgrading their lineup, the Lakers were also trying to upgrade theirs to match the nets, but this injury problem happens, and everything was ruined.

Davis and LeBron are already proven, Drummond has not been proven yet, hopefully, he will not end up like Mark Gasol.

Even them losing 8 of last 10 games I believe they will end on rank.6. Blazers have harder schedule than Lakers.

We can suppose that the Blazers will lose 3 of the remaining five games. In this case, the Lakers will need to win at least four upcoming games to return to rank 6. I guess the Lakers can win the Rockets, the Pacers, and the Pelicans, but they most likely will lose the Suns and the Knicks.

If only Kuzma made that 3 point shot tieing the game, they've got the chance though it's  off night again for him.

Even how hard AD tried to win the game without LeBron it's really hard for Lakers to win, they still have chance to move forward and
enter the next round but if they'll not improve and they continue playing like this, it's very difficult for them to defend their title.
They need to work it out and they to change rotations, blending of players who will jive in and play solid is really needed for the rest of their game during this first round.

I believe Drummond doesn't need to be proven, he is just a body to throw at the opponents during the second unit, Marc Gasol is a great player to do the same as well, give them a shared amount of time and you will see the bench unit being great.

However they weren't planning on this when they started the year, they were hoping for AD being at the PF and Harrel being at the C as well, they played so many minutes that way, AD playing at Center is quite common as well when there is a smaller center on the other side, AD doesn't like to bang with the big bodies down low we know that but small lineups in NBA getting more common so AD can do that time to time as well. Long story short Lakers did not improve as much as Nets in the sense that their bench unit looks a bit better, nets even had LMA as well but dude retired because of his heart condition.

Blazers are also wanting to be in the safe spot, they will play hard to win and Blazers is a healthy team now, they can beat any team, even the Clippers, Jazz, and Nuggets if Lillard and CJ are playing well. The Lakers do not deserve to be in the top 6 with the way they are playing now.
