I see rumors that he will be traded to the Bulls. It does not make sense if the Jazz will make a move to trade Clarkson for Westbrook since they are rebuilding. He will be a good help to the Bulls though coming from the bench. He was stellar last year in Jazz, and I think he is a good fit for the Bulls as well.

Jazz might be insane in thinking of trading Jordan Clarkson for Rusell Westbrook they could be out of their mind in thinking such risky trade, and yeah it doesn't make sense, they are building their old players, and getting Russell Westbrook now is a liability for their team, for me,, they will not trade Russell Westbrook to the young Jordan Clarkson that are still young and still have a ceiling for improvements,

Lebron still be their number one option and second is Davis so its hard for him to snatch the MVP this season since the ball rotation of lakers is not focus on him. Maybe if he can provide solid numbers to purple and gold plus he will be consistent on number of games played the phase will change then their management will decide to make him a number two option for them. So Westbrook really need to work hard this upcoming season since he have need to prove his worth for second time.

If he was aiming for that then he would likely have a problem with it, he is not in his prime anymore, so likely to say he can not produce a number like in his prime, if this is real that he still wants a shot for it, then say goodbye to his career in the NBA no team will surely want him anymore, because he likely not producing any consistent gameplay, points I sure am no fan of Russell Westbrook, but all I want for him is to play it easy and become a matching strength with his team and not a fool who's still aiming for the impossible,

He created the noise, and he should work on it. We never know why he makes such a statement,, but it's a good motivation to find
his old self, don't quote me on this, but all players need motivation to start firing up.

With a kind of challenges and criticism, he might find a way to improve his performance and shut up the bad publicities against him,
it's a top challenge but still doable if he will play smart.

Or, it's just simply saying that he wanted to be the main guy again, and it's a sign of moving out from the lakers organization.

Setting up a challenge is good. But if the challenge is too high, you are just setting it up to fail. We do not even know if he is a starter in the Lakers.

Though an MVP aspiration is good, it might backfire on him if he does not perform well. Social media will toast him for that. He should have aimed for SMOTY rather than MVP instead. Cheesy

Blake Griffin just signed a one year deal with the Celtics. Seems like the Celtics are the team for veterans to try and win a chip with now. I’m not so sure they’re the team to beat in the east. I think the 76ers, Bucks, & Nets all have better teams, but with Nash being strict on the old guys maybe the Celtics are the only place willing to take the old ring chasers. Hope Blake has a good season. Last year was a bit embarrassing.

It is a good team, winning the Conference championship and showing good performance against a stacked GSW last season. I think Griffin chose a good team to chase the ring. If Udoka was not suspended, I can even say that they are still the team to beat in the east. But since their coach is out for the season, we still need to see how the team will response with their new coach.

On the contrary, I think the Jordan Clarkson will get traded the soonest and I was hoping that he will go the Lakers again and play with Bron.

I think the Lakers are pretty full at the PG position and seem to be sticking with Westbrook. I was under the impression that Clarkson would have been the piece in any deal to get the Lakers picks and take Russ’ contract.

Mvp is crazy talk for Westbrook, with Luka, giannis, taytum, ja, jokic, etc etc but I do think he will have a bounce back year.  He is crafty he will figure it out.  Last year was pretty much the worst of it.  He is ultra competitive let's see what kind of summer he had training.  I'd like to see him bounce back.  NBA is always better when teams like the Lakers are competitive.

Aside from the competition, he is not the first option on his team as well. It is hard to stack stats if you are not the first option. He is the third option at best. He can have a bounce-back year but aiming for an MVP is just too much for him to achieve. He is not the prime Westbrook that we used to know.

Chicago Bulls is indeed a good landing spot for Clarkson but I'm curious on who will be the exchange for him that will get the Jazz interested, since as you said that the Jazz is currently on rebuilding process. If the Chicago Bulls can match the Jazz's needs then the deal might be done before the season starts. Although, I'm starting to think that Clarkson will still wear the same jersey this coming season.

And regarding Westbrook, that statement he made that he's aiming for the MVP made me laugh. I mean, I'm not underestimating him, but he should bounce back first and fulfill his role and I agree that MVP might too much for him to expect.

I don't care which team but I would love to see Jordan Clarkson traded to any teams that are capable of reaching the playoffs. I don't want him to stay in a rebuilding team and waste his prime years.

Clarkson with the Lakers will be good for the team and his career too. He can be a perfect alternative when Bron and AD take their rest. He can even play in the first five to confuse the opposing team's defense. Schroder, Clarkson, Bron, and AD together in the court would be offensively deadly.

True, Clarkson's talent will be wasted if he will still remain and play for the Utah Jazz or to guide the younger ones, He's just not suitable for it. There's a rumor that Bucks and Grizzlies are interested to get him but up until now there's no news on the nearest possibility, he will be so useful if he can play for Bucks or Grizzlies. But for Lakers? They are already stacked especially in point guards and I don't see that the Lakers has something to give for the Jazz in-exchange for Clarkson. I'm sure that the Lakers aren't ready to give up their future picks for the time being.

I think he'd be wasted on Memphis, they are loaded right now.  He would absolutely be perfect out on the Bucks.  He can play his 6th man role and would be complimentary to what they are doing out there.  The issue would be what the Bucks would have to give up for Clarkson.

Clarkson cannot technically go to Lakers because Lakers do not have a cap space available and Clarkson is not a minimum contract guy. He would probably either stay, or leave to a team that could pay him a good amount, otherwise it doesn't make sense for him to take a cut.

I still think NBA needs to reconsider this cap space thing, we are at a level where almost every team is above the allowed cap space with just 3 players, and if not, at maximum 5-6 people passes it easily, meaning you cannot build a decent "team", you build a great core and terrible helpers around them which makes no sense to me. We need to raise the cap space a bit, just a bit, but also drop what the biggest names could make, 50+ million levels is not acceptable, doesn't leave enough for anyone else.

Blake Griffin just signed a one year deal with the Celtics. Seems like the Celtics are the team for veterans to try and win a chip with now. I’m not so sure they’re the team to beat in the east. Hope Blake has a good season. Last year was a bit embarrassing.

It looks like this is a minimal veteran deal, and it's not surprising since Griffin's performance last season was probably one of the worst of his career. Honestly, I don't think Griffin had many offers from other teams this off-season, and the Celtics probably decided to sign him only because of Gallinari's injury.

Or they should stop overpaying some athletes so they can make space for other good athletes to join their club. Also, they can always pay the luxury tax if they really want to pay big and get more athletes.

And, if you have maxed your salary cap with just 5-6 players, you are already a superteam. If you raise the cap, then some teams will just hoard all the stars and there will be no more competitiveness in the league.

If they trade westbrook, it will create a LOT of space. WB is eating a chunk of LA Lakers cap.

At least we will see another season for Blake, but I'm not expecting him to play many minutes with the C's. Probably just like the veteran that he is, Blake could be a good mentor for the young team.

Well they have proven themselves last year, beating all the those teams in the East. It's that they will have a interim coach so that could be a factor, also the noise about their former coach might have an impact to some of the players. But we will see, maybe from time to time Griffin could have some games that he will excel, not seeing the former high flying and poster dunks from him, but at least solid contribution and his shooting from 3's have improved when he lost his athleticism. It might come in handy in close games.

I agree, that's what separates the good teams from the best.  Cost allocation and identifying steals that are undervalued.  In baseball it tends to be the team that spends the most has a good shot to be there in the end.  With caps it helps level the aging field.  If they raise the cap and lower the amount someone can make it only means they will give lower level players more money.  The talent is what it is, that won't change with caps or maxes

It's just a rumor so basically that was made up and that's why we don't see any news about it.

If you just heard or read a rumor, always don't expect it to be real but I do agree that there should be a change for where Clarkson is. Lakers is out of the option as they have no space for him.

Bucks would be like one of the best for him but he sure got a lot of contribution to Jazz and will the management willing to let him go?

First preseason game is in the books. The warriors beat the wizards in spite of the warriors starting 5 shooting 7 for 34. The bright spot was Wiseman who got 20 points on 8 for 11 shooting. Kerr keeps saying Wiseman isn’t ready and won’t get a lot of minutes this year but I’m hoping that isn’t the case. If the Warriors can get him minutes they’ll be pretty hard to stop with a legit center. He looks ready to me.

It's just a rumor so basically that was made up and that's why we don't see any news about it.

Maybe fans or someone who wanted him to leave his former team who created that.

Quote
If you just heard or read a rumor, always don't expect it to be real but I do agree that there should be a change for where Clarkson is. Lakers is out of the option as they have no space for him.

Lakers already signed Dennis for much cheaper contract, enough addition for their offense. Maybe Clarkson is out of any trade talks.

Quote
Bucks would be like one of the best for him but he sure got a lot of contribution to Jazz and will the management willing to let him go?

And who's going to be traded for him that may attract Jazz to let him go, they are in a rebuilding so future draft maybe is what they are aiming.

Just pre-season though, so perhaps everyone was rusty on the side of the Warriors.

I do agree that it's time for us to see how Wiseman is, highly touted prospect but got injured. So if he is 100% already, then Kerr should not put him in restricted minutes and give him like 20 minutes per game. I guess the Warriors are used to have Looney in the middle. But for sure Wiseman could offer more and help them out this season.

Kerr is a wise coach, he might be bluffing coz he looks more than ready to me as well.
That pre season performance he showed might be a sneak peak of what the GSW have discovered made another superstar on their own. With Iggy's last season this year, they'll better have someone who's as reliable as him on both ends of the floor.
I guess the GSW executed very well on who's to dispose of and who's to be retained.
This might gonna be another back 2 back for the warriors this season.

Many are surely not giving way attention to the Preseason because for sure the teams will not perform in their 100% form now Wiseman has shown his power under the ring, while Kyle Kuzma is really firing up and maybe introducing himself this season, but surely I am more excited when the regular season starts but the preseason could be an appetizer for the hungry fans to see their favorite players in action, and not going to bet on the Preseason because we will get inconsistent results,

Just pre-season though, so perhaps everyone was rusty on the side of the Warriors.

No not really rusty but they are giving more opportunities for other players to show what they can really do, and James Wiseman is just best to oblige, and on the Wizard's side Rui Hachimura's mid-range jumper is something to look for, and just like I have said you can not really care much on what will be the result for the match on Preseason because you can not get a consistent performance for the players, while Jame Wiseman have gotten 20 points in the regular season he might get 29 - 30 average points, but on the next preseason, I will not be surprised if the Wizard would win I either, and will save my bet for the regular season instead,

Kerr not impressed with Wiseman performance but he can still use him in games after all he's one brilliant player in the team and not having him present during game might make Wiseman lose form. Wiseman is underrated in the team because of the present of Looney and some other keyplayers in the team, Kerr should not understimate him and use him when necessary. Talking about 20 minutes per game, that will do currently rather than keeping him on the bench.

How can you say that the coach himself is not impressed with Wiseman performance? Of course we consider Wiseman as a rookie because he haven't played that much game as a pro, but he seems to be talented and many basketball analyst says that the Warriors is hard to defeat once he is inserted into the pictures.

He will be utilized for sure, and Draymond wanted to see this kid developed into their one of their future stars.

Young and talented players plus a player who isn't in his post-prime years yet (he is only 33 years old) and with Gallinari getting injured, I guess the Celtics found a replacement in Griffin.

With Coach Udoka out this season, many have doubts with the Celtics already. Will they repeat their previous run? Will they repeat what they did last season, but now with a different head coach. Questions that will be answered during the Regular season.

Right now, I think the 76ers are the better team to win right now in the East. I believe that Harden, Embiid and Maxey will be a good trio and add Tucker who is a great role player and defender. I also have doubts with the Nets as well. Will the chemistry as a team there after the drama that Kyrie and KD did? Will Simmons play the whole season and is there any changes in his playstyle? Let's just see during the regular season but I'm predicting the 76ers to win the East. Too early Cheesy.

In the end it still depends on the health of the team, 76ers is a legitimate championship contender, but if Embiid will get injured in the playoffs, that will kill their hope of winning the championship. I know Harden is a superstar, however, he has not proven himself yet in 76ers uniform, I mean, his performance during the last playoffs was way below his average when he was still playing with the Houston Rockets.

Do you think it's the chemistry is the problem? or Harden had really depreciate already?
