Anyway, I saw on a Facebook post that the Lakers are interested in getting CP3. Who do you think the Lakers will give just to get the "Point God"?
I haven't seen or read anything about this yet. But regarding Paul George not Chris Paul, it's rumored that the Warriors have big chance of landing Paul George in case they decide to let go of Klay Thompson. I think it's good idea for the Warriors if Klay Thompson will leaves the roster and they replace him with PG13. But the question is, what will be the cost in terms of cash or the performance of the Warriors? But for me, what they should focus on is getting a proper center. I think they're lacking in the bigman or center in their current roster. Warriors though doesn't have history of having great centers throughout their championship run, and because it is run by Steve Kerr, who's experience with the Bulls are the same, no great big man but the center is on Michael Jordan, same with the Warriors Steph Curry. So I don't think that will be their priority. And if Klay leaves for sure they are going to pursue the likes of Paul George as a replacement. Remember they have a great pick, and a lot of promise in James Wiseman, but they traded him away to the Detroit Pistons. If Klay won't leave then maybe they will get another wingman or another role player that can fill the void in their defense. And maybe we will see Andrew Wiggins in the trade block as his game has been deteriorating in the last 2 seasons. It's becoming obvious now that the Warriors are on the trading block. I am confident CP3 will be unloaded but I am not sure at what cost. CP3 is old but is still worth $30 million next season. If there are no teams interested in acquiring him then it's most likely that GSW has to give up something more just to unload him. Maybe future draft picks are enough. There's also Klay, Wiggins and even Draymond possibly traded as well. Curry is still playing good so they should maximize him by putting something new that might work against the current top teams that are mostly younger and fresher.

Klay is never the same again, on/off performance, Draymond is a head ache, Wiggins also inconsistent. The only players that is untouchable is Steph Curry. The others could let go and be traded and we might see a new and fresh Warriors. And it's really the age that caught up with them, above 30+ players and in the league there are so much youth and athleticism like ANT in their conference. So they will have to adjust as their formula for success is no longer working.

I'm hoping that the changes will be positive. With their experience last season where they didn't qualify in the playoffs, I'm sure they will not keep the same roster on the next season. One player that will likely part ways with the team is Klay Thompson because he might not feel the importance in the team anymore as we have seen him being bence on some of the games last season, so I guess he needs a fresh start, a team that needs his service but most likely his value will drop. And it's really the age that caught up with them, above 30+ players and in the league there are so much youth and athleticism like ANT in their conference. So they will have to adjust as their formula for success is no longer working.
That's a big factor too, I think even Lebron who are still playing with great numbers now have decline because he is aging, so the same goes with other players although they are younger than Lebron but at 30+, you can't expect a player to be the same, even Curry IMO is not the same anymore.

Luka was even a target for the Boston because he is not a good defensive player, and he is even bigger than Trae Young. I think Trae is similar with Mike Conley who is a liability in the defensive end, so he should be able to offset that with his exceptional offense, so he'll not have a negative rating while on the floor. Conley is 6 6′ 0", while Trae Young is 6′ 1″... Both small PG, but great with their offensive game. Steph actually is 6′ 2″
I agree. These guards who are always focused on offense are a liability when it comes to defense. Unlike Jaylen Brown who showcased his defensive skills in the Finals and so did Jayson Tatum. It's a problem when it comes to games like the playoffs. This is a mind game battle where most players who lack defense or who are slow are being attacked. Steph and Coach Kerr found a solution to that and that's a fast switch. But the chemistry with the player who will switch must be fast or else it becomes a failure, making the offensive player have an open look that would be frustrating for the defensive player. Well, Luka also did that to the Timberwolves by switching the defense to Gobert, and most of the time he is successful in scoring against him. Again, these weaknesses can be fixed as long as there's a player willing to commit to the switch.

I haven't seen that yet but if it's going to be a rumor then there is a possibility. He's out of the GSW and he wants to get his first own ring as well. He almost got it with the Suns but then it didn't happen. So with the revamp that's happening with the Lakers, coming from the coach, and for the players as well. There is a chance but don't believe yet with everything that's posted on Facebook.

I love CP3 as the next person does but when has getting older as a team improved any team significantly enough to become a serious contender. Not a Lakers fan but it's clear as day this team won't be able to compete with the younger teams out there. They shoukd get what they can for theor guys and go through a full rebuild. Land some good rookies and get a in their prime star or 2 to come in and restart.

What do you guys think about the Warriors possibly signing Paul George if Klay decides to leave? As a Warriors fan, I would be sad to see Klay playing with another team, but he is really done for unless he gains back his confidence next season. Steph badly needs someone else who can help him offensively. When it comes to offense, I think PG is a better choice right now. Steph still has something left and still has a chance to get a ring, at least one or two, before he retires. It's just that he doesn't have much help, especially from Klay last season.
Let us just wait until the negotiations are done. It is said that Klay wantd 3 year extension but the Warriors will only give him 2 years. They are currently on the negotiations and if they do not meet at the middle. Then, Klay will leave then and that is the time that PG will get in and with his tenure in the league, he will surely take any deal from them.

There is a chance but don't believe yet with everything that's posted on Facebook. I just saw it on Facebook, but aside from the Lakers, the Clippers can get CP3 as well in exchange for Paul George. PG13 for CP3 plus other young players like Kuminga and GP2. In that way, the Warriors still have a chance to win the title, but that will cost them Klay Thompson. As for CP3 going to the Lakers like I said, I guess it's a good trade, but it will depend on which players the Lakers are willing to give to the Warriors. After all, the Lakers also need a reliable Point Guard and don't rely too much on Le-GM in terms of playmaking. Correct me, but they didn't have any good PG's last season aside from Le-GM. Reaves and Russell aren't true PG's but more of a shooting guard for me. Anyway, like you said though, what I saw in Facebook might not be true, but you know that anything can happen during the off-season, right? ![Cheesy](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) What do you guys think about the Warriors possibly signing Paul George if Klay decides to leave? If Klay wants a 3-year extension, he needs to have a pay cut to open up cap space for some players to join their team. The new CBA rule ruined the whole Warriors because of how expensive they already are. If Klay doesn't want to have a pay cut, better to just trade him to another team that needs shooters. After all, many teams still want him despite of how he played during the regular season. Many believe he can still be a sharpshooter like he used to be. Anyway, I guess it's time for the Warriors core trio to split up now. As for PG going to the Warriors, they might get him, but that will cause young Warriors players and Kuminga will be out of Golden State if that happens.

I guess two players of the first five will be unloaded before the start of the season. Taking an old but very expensive CP3 was a bad pick for them IMO. CP3 will surely going to be traded. And then either Wiggins, Klay or Green will be leaving as well. The management and Curry has to decide what is best for the team otherwise it's a waste of time for their main player who still plays great. And it's really the age that caught up with them, above 30+ players and in the league there are so much youth and athleticism like ANT in their conference. The problem with the Lakers is that they no longer has the assets for bigger trades while still keeping Bron and AD. Getting AD was still worth it because they won a ring but the Westbrook deal was very very bad and they will suffer for years after sacrificing a lot of their assets. But maybe they will separate this season as they failed miserably last playoffs.

Lakers should be getting young players to beef up their roster not an old and veteran CP3, they still have Lebron to lead them and that will be enough. Surround him and AD with young and very hungry young players willing to sacrifice their bodies just to win a ring.

Aside from being old, CP3 won't fit with the Lakers as when Lebron arrived, they were not able to acquire a good point guard because it's still Lebron who are calling the shots, you know what I mean. So, it's a bad idea, CP3 will only fit to a team that will let him play his role, and I don't see the Lakers to be that team. Also, he should not be getting a lot of minutes to prevent him from getting injured, a 2nd unit is good for him, and I'd rather want to see him in a team like the 76ers so they'll have a good point guard.

I think he can fit but the problem is that CP3 is old, that is the main reason why it is bad for the Lakers to get him at this point. Maybe 5 years ago, when Paul was still in his prime and his perimeter shot is money. Now he is aging, and probably can't play that much minute as much as Redick might what him to be. Just unfortunate that he will retire without a ring. Point God during his prime, handles and basketball IQ is one of the best but just fell short in winning.

Though if JJ will insist and entrust him the position we never know maybe he can still bring something good for this squad, though like what the post above you, it' more on LeBron if he's willing to allow CP3 to work on their offense maybe they might fit together with AD, they already familiar with each other and if they work things out we never know what might be the outcome. The only thing is they all are no longer at their primes, aging and injuries slow them and with the type of game system the opponents will implement that running attacks will hurt them a lot.

But he will always got hunted by injuries since he is old already and prone to that situation. Also I guess its bad decision to take another veteran since they already have a lot of that. They need fresh legs who can handle the ball or a pass first point guard so that they can make their rotation succeed since we know that the ball will always goes with AD and LBJ so that's what actually they need on the roster right now. I don't know why Lakers consider Paul to be in their roster if there's really an interest for that addition since if he will get injured and also unfortunate times that AD will also get that since both players are injury prone then their team would totally be over since they are been dismantled in that situation.

I think Klay is as good as gone from Golden State. The Warriors seem to have made him an offer that he refused and are moving on. I don’t see them going with an aging star like PG13 either. For me, Giannis is still the prize to pair with Steph. We’ll have to see who else is available as the summer progresses.

I guess he's monitoring now on what team could able to give him possible offers. I guess for securing his future that would be the best decision he could get since for sure even if he decide to sign up on Warriors he might get lesser role. So best to follow grab what team could possibly give him better offers since provably that he will get more playing time there compare in Warriors next season. But yeah let see what will be the summer progresses on NBA since for sure that lots of team will do a surprising move.

I read that news before, he deleted some photos, unfollow the Warriors and follow the Magic star player. So could it be that he will be landing with the Orlando Magic? Klay is not done yet, he sure can have another run to lead or help a team and the young Magic might need his playoff experience. Actually, if Klay could only average at least 20 points, that's already a big deal especially with his 3 point shooting getting back. So best to follow grab what team could possibly give him better offers since provably that he will get more playing time there compare in Warriors next season. But yeah let see what will be the summer progresses on NBA since for sure that lots of team will do a surprising move.
Best for him is to get a long term contract, which I believe the Warriors won't be able to give him anyway. So it's already expected that he'll leave and find a greener pasture.

I doubt a team would give him a long-term contract; he is already 34 years old and not in his prime anymore. Maybe he'll get a maximum of 2 years, which is not long-term for me. Also, I don't think he'll still get an average salary that is the same as his salary with the Warriors in his old contract. Maybe a new team, but in terms of contract, there will be no significant increase. So how about the Mavs getting Thompson? This is an interesting article https://www.si.com/nba/mavericks/trade-rumors/dallas-mavs-pursue-golden-state-warriors-star-klay-thompson-nba-free-agency-sign-trade

Davis is a useful and strong player when he's fully healthy. So it's no surprise that the Lakers don't want to include him in any deal. As for Westbrook, I agree with you, the Lakers' management took too long to trade him, even though it was clear before the deadline in his first season with the Lakers that he wasn't a good fit for the team.

Of course, AD is one of the reasons why the Lakers won a championship before and won the in-season tournament. The problem is they need more role players who can contribute consistently night in and night out. Maybe a bit of an overhaul in their starting lineup as well. I think they should look for a better point guard and not put Austin Reaves in the starting lineup.
