So the NBA goat, Lebron James is with Polymarket. Prediction market + sports personalities could be the latest hype for Polymarket, and maybe Kalshi will be the next one to do this kind of marketing.

Gonna be very difficult now to put that this market although there has been a lot of countries and States in America trying to ban Polymarket and Kalshi.

Could this set a precedence for other sports personalities?

I thought it was fake news at first, but after reading through many different news outlets, I can see that it is all real.

I don't know why LeBron James is deciding to partner with them, considering how many lawsuits and regulatory problems Polymarket is now facing. Then, there's real hype now about the trading insiders, which could really mess up their business.

Obviously he's doing it for the money.  He's trying to get all the money he can.  He even took out a loan against his future earnings to make sure he would never have to sell any of his investments or pay capital gains taxes.  He has a team of finance experts on his side and he's utilizing them to the fullest.  This deal is just another signal that for LeBron, he's trying to maximize everything that comes his way and he's been doing a great job of it.  No doubt he will be a multibillionaire before all is said and done.

Smart move by them to try to capitalize on all the Lebron lovers. Guy has millions of followers so I'm sure it's going to be worth it longrun for Polymarket. Even if they ban it in the USA James is still known worldwide.

It doesn't matter if it's me if he's worth that much or he's deserving that. Because if I am in shoes, whatever the Rockets will offer me I'll take it. After all of the news of those players thinking of getting a max, they got nothing instead.

There's more to this guy and that's what the Rockets are believing him on, I agree with Logitech that he has to improve shooting and other than that remain to be physique.

Despite that they've got a packed of roster and some stars, they're giving him a window with that contract and it also increases his potential trade value in the future.

I like how he play defense and he is also can score points, that is why i have high hopes for him, i dont think he is a dirty player though he is just too agressive in defense but for sure he is not intentionally trying to hurt someone while playing, they juat have to be more experience and learn to let things go with the flow.

The dirtiness on how he plays is part of the game, we shouldn't be specific only to him because even in the past there's even more of it like from Rodman and others who are known to it.

The kid is still young and he's getting more experience each season. So to have this guarantee that he's going to be with the Rockets means a lot for him and progress as a player.

And his teammates, they won't just be teammates to him but also can be a career mentor for which can increase his basketball iq.

When there's hype, there's money, and right now, the hype is on prediction markets therefore, the money is pouring on it, and if you want to have a portion of that money, this is the best thing that you can do. Partner with them, hence the partnership.

TBH, I have nothing against this even though there has been lots of lawsuits being thrown on Polymarket, and there has been a lots of criticisms that they're facing. The fact of the matter is, prediction markets are still booming and they're making money from it. Why Polymarket? Well, we don't know the exact reason, but what I believe is that they offered him a huge amount of money that even him can't reject it. Maybe a partnership where he'll be paid the same as those max contract players in the NBA right now? I mean he's still Lebron, and he can still attract lots of people despite of the age.

Whatever it is, one thing's for sure. Prediction markets are coming, and they're trying to partner with some of the most famous athletes right now. Lebron is one, and many more in the future.

Probably this is the case for those big bettors in our country. As what we said, some crazy basketball fans are really putting large sums of money in NBA betting. Or at least money that I never thought I'm willing to put in line in gambling.

Allow me to share my experience.

Maybe you are not using the right casinos, here in PH there are lots of sportsbooks that offer competitive odds, so for me it’s not really a problem. I also saw in the PBA thread that one of our friends, Bisdak, used to show his bet slips, and it looked familiar. I think we are using the same local bookie, and I can say the lines and odds there are very competitive. No, I don’t see it that way and I don’t blame Durant. He already proved himself when he joined the Warriors, that team was already a championship team and with him they won 2 championships, IIRC. So for me, Durant is not really the problem. The bigger issue is the coaching staff, if they don’t know how to use him properly or build the right system around him, then the team will still struggle no matter how talented he is.

Still waiting for that news if Durant is going to look for a trade. He's one of the players that can dictate the management of what they should do to them.

And for Amen, he's still got a lot of work to do but securing this contract assures him that he's got a place in the team.

They're going to develop him, they've got some veterans there that will also be key players during the practice games.

Can still have that influence and teams would still love to take him. Might not be able to dictate wholly but he can still have some say on decision making.

There's still one year for him to have that player option for 2027-2028.

And for that length, I guess that you're right that there can be a lot of things that can happen to him that can affect him for any demand if he chooses to go for that option.

He can definitely still help a team win too. I would just be very hesitant to sign him for longer than a couple years given his history.
