Personally i don't think Kawhi is worth that amount of money, but that's just me because I don't like him and with all the injuries and so on I think it's just too much risk. Maybe he will prove me wrong but let's see.

In the NBA today, even average players, and sometimes those below average, are earning salaries that many top players in the 2000s could only dream of. In my opinion, NBA players have become too spoiled by all the big money.
As for Duren's situation, his decisions, whether driven by greed or something else, will ultimately not lead to anything good for him. There's a risk that in the future, neither the Pistons nor any other team will offer him a similar contract again.

Sometimes these players feel too important. Some just want to secure their future, and I don't blame them for that since basketball players retire at an early age.

However, the Detroit Pistons will be making the wrong decision if it goes up even more. It's not like he is a superstar right now. Duren should really accept that, or he won't have any contract at all. Just one more week before training camp starts, and I bet many free-agent players are also itching to get their spot. They might even accept small offers just to be on a team. If somehow the Detroit finds a role-player center, Duren will have problems.

So young and dumb but I think the broke part will may come later. Pistons has been so generous with that offer or his manager or Duren himself is the issue. He's so full of himself I guess when he even can't prove anything yet at this level, his playoffs performance was basically so unforgivable he's been babysit by WCJ or it was even Ausar that do the defensive stats he should've been doing on the paint. Yeah that's crazy. We've seen several contract meltdowns like Schroder, who turned down the 4-year $84M contract with the Los Angeles Lakers. I don't know what these players are thinking. I'm kinda confused whether they've become greedy or think they're so valuable that any team could top those offers. And the crazy part is, they are not even interested in investing that much to improve themselves.
LeBron invested more than $1m every year in his body and mind conditioning, and it is actually underrated. People think it's easy to have the longevity and athleticism he has currently. I don't see any player in the NBA doing the same today.

TBH, I don't know if he's worth the money that he got in Toronto like you said, but he stated at one point that he wants to retire in Toronto, and it seems like Toronto likes him as well especially after leading the team towards it's very first title in 2019. As for the injuries, like you there's that big "IF" as well, but we can't deny the fact that IF HE'S HEALTHY, he's an all-star type of player who can still lead a team. His performance last season is the prime example for that one though there's always a big IF when it comes to him though.

As for Duren, this is the reason why the risk is on him right now, and I will not be surprised if a few days before October 1st, he'll be forced to sign that $200M contract because he's betting too much on himself at this state of the negotiations already. He's young, he's athletic, and yes he's a core piece to the 60-win Pistons last season, and he also made the All-NBA team, but he's not worth a max contract especially after that miserable playoff-performance.

For me, Duren is the type of player where he could be a big piece towards a title-contending team, but not the type of player where you can build a team around him and could get a max. That $200M is already huge especially we are at a point where all-star players are even being asked to take a pay cut. I'm predicting that he'll sign it, but within the final days before he could sign that qualifying offer.

These 3 are on my top list of players that will likely be the first to reach $1M per game. It's either Luka, Antman, or SGA. These 3 are still under 30. There is Jokic and Giannis as well, both in their early 30s. In the younger generation, there is Wemby, as long as he stays healthy. I can't say for Cooper Flagg yet. I feel like it's too early to say it.

Next season, the highest salary is held by Curry, which is $62.5M. If only Curry is in his early 30's, I'd bet he will be the first player to have a $1M per game salary.

Imagine, someone is earning $1M by playing less than 40 mins. That's already a regular person's salary for a decade or longer. Damn, I can't say anything but what a life.

Well, he can sign a veteran minimum if he wants to play, so the salary structure should not be a problem for him. It started with the Lakers though, that notion that he is being blamed for everything. But if you look at the Nuggets when he played, he indeed show flashes of his old self.

It was really one of the best team in the West during that time, prime KD and WB, however, it was not enough as again, they have to face the new face of the league that time which is the Warriors lead by Steph.

That is a bad decision if that's true making his agent bypass him i would fire him and file a case against him, but for sure that is not the case, maybe he taught some teams would offer higher because the lakers are offering him a bigger offer, he forgets that LeBron is in the team.
He is a facilitator that means they will share for the spot, if he did not think twice and signed it he would have stay with the team and no matter what happen the $100M is secured, let this be a lesson for Duren, he is still young prove himself and for sure the pistons will give him what he wants.

I think I need to say this one, but I've already know from the start that the injury of Lonzo is very brutal that he affected him both physically and mentally. Imagine only having a torn meniscus to having complex surgeries, and at one point he needed a cartilage construction, and based on statistics, a player that had kind of surgery always ends up in their career getting affected negatively, and Lonzo isn't an exception. Well, the good thing is that, Ball made history as the only player who logged in minutes and still played in the NBA after both meniscus and cartilage transplants.

It's unfortunate that it happened to him because his stint with the Pelicans was his best and that's the time where his shooting form changed. Well, injuries to happen and it's pretty much normal. It's just that, Lonzo's case is very rare, and we might never see a case like him in the near future. As for him retiring, no team wants him anymore after what happened to him, and TBH, I also doubt if there will be a team overseas that still want him after the injuries and the surgeries that he got.

The last news I saw said he had completely ended his basketball career, that he didn't want to deal with injuries anymore, and that he had earned enough money and was now going to pursue different things. He's still very young, and we'll see if ending his career is the right decision. I think he could still continue playing for many teams without overexerting himself or risking injury
