Right after Ben Simmons appears to be making a legitimate NBA comeback… He has now torn his Achilles tendon and will be out for the season. That is what they’re suspecting after today’s practice. Horrible news. He’s definitely wishing he had stayed retired now.

Too bad, just when he got his confidence back and improved his efficiency over the last 2 preseason games, and then this happened. A torn achilles is a season ending injury. It's sad to say, but I guess he's literally DONE with his NBA career. I know he's just 30 but his body endured too much major injuries that made him lose his athleticism.
I think he should just stick to fishing, because he found success in professional fishing and became a champion in less than a year.

Yep saw it on X, this guy couldn't be more unlucky tbh, come on the regular season hasn't been played. Well, I think he still got a shot, he's just 30 and if he is willing he will for sure return. I don't about the retirement stuff but I think when he got back, he want to show he got that dog in him and prove something. I just don't know if he can still have the courage though after the rehab.

Yeah, I was shocked when I saw the news. That is very unfortunate for him. Now, aside from his injury, what I think he has to work more on is his mental health. His injury would probably be a blow again to his confidence.

I really thought he can at least redeem himself a bit because he is doing fine in preseason until this happened. Now, I'm not sure if he will sign again after his recovery even if there is an offer. If this didn't happen, I believe he will get an offer again and sign.

It will be a problem if that is serious. His status now is "Game Time Decision". So it's probably not that bad.

But if it is a serious injury, then the Warriors will be a mess.

I don't know how Coach Steve Kerr can make plays with so many stars out. It will be a rough start for them, and even if they have Curry, he cannot handle it alone. He will also probably be in minute restrictions considering his age and that ankle problem.

Yes, I was one of those who thinks that this could be a great comeback season for him. The Sacramento Kings might not to go this season, but seeing him playing as if he forgot all the past behind and become a new version of himself.

But what can you say, when you are a unlucky, then I guess it will follow you regardless of what you do. So the initial reports and with what others players when they got this kind of injury, is that it's a season ending.

However, as far as I understand, that minimum contract with the Kings is guaranteed, which means Simmons can expect to make a couple of million dollars in any case.

He sign for a 1 year contract with the Kings, nothing that the Kings will do here, I know it's very unfortunate for him as there are cases that he might really be back with different mentality. So I was under the impression that it could be the last time that we might see him in a NBA uniform.

Unless there were still some teams that will believed on him after the Kings waived him in a year. He might be getting that millions, but if you can't play and show your talent, then it might really haunt him as he could retire at age 30's.

And he's still expected to play on season opener against Lakers. But that incident does not look good at all, its just show how Curry became so prone for injury nowadays. If he got seriously hurt on middle of their campaign.

Then its expected that Warriors will struggle to got a playoffs or play in spot this season.
