Serious scam accusations are pending against Spectrocoin. I've removed them from the list and I'd advise users to stay away from their services for the time being.
Can you elaborate on this please. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1586595.msg15933748#msg15933748https://archive.is/QUAuc

I am speechless. Thanks a lot for the link, I was about to try them... The accusations do indeed make sense and the history adds up. Yup. And what's more concerning is that VytautasK hasn't addressed any of the accusations and has been offline in bitcointalk since they appeared. Truly suspicious behavior and that's exactly why I advise users to stay away of Spectrocoin.

With the recent Bitfinex hack... I feel intrigued to ask: do you feel comfortable leaving funds sit in an account for a debit card other than a cryptocurrency exchange? Does that fact that traditional financial institutions and legal entities are involved make you feel any better?
For the record, I'm not aware of any bitcoin debit card services that have went away with (or lost) user funds but I might be wrong so feel free to correct me.
I really don`t know what to think at all I have few cards and still have not used them as I will not cash under 2000$ per BTC, but so far ALL debit cards providers are more or less anonymous small services which almost have nothing to lose Its shame that bitpay and coinbase only provide cards for USA, we in europe are left to small providers with no long history in business

So out of all the factors in this, I think that the fact that a bank is foreseeing the transactions going through the cards is what adds legitimacy to such services. Of course, there have been cases where businesses offering bitcoin debit card services have scammed customers (case in point, Spectrocoin). However, that certainly wasn't the fault of the bank issuing the debit cards Spectrocoin provided. Spectrocoin withheld user account funds deposited in their own platform that they had full control over.

Seems like E-coin/wirex reduced load limits: Please, note that we had to set temporary lower limits for USD and EUR card loads as follows: USD cards - $1.000 per day EUR cards - €1.500 per day Sent out via email.

Take into account that the balance in these cards is never guaranteed by any government out bank. It's not the same as bank accounts, where if the bank goes bankrupt the government returns you your money (in some countries). This has no insurance at all.

I'm not saying that it's equally secure as bank accounts but if you've got to look at this from a trust perspective, money deposited in cards is still more on the bank's side other than the paygate's one. Jurisdiction can vary, but I was just answering to a specific concern.

I'm looking at coinsbank and cryptopay.
The issue is the conversion rate you get and the conversion fees. Can anyone confirm how competitive these are? Is the rate on coinsbank's website the one you get? What rate does cryptopay use?

Trying to order a Xapo debit card, deposited more than enough BTC to complete the order, but the site just prompts me to deposit more. Anyone know approximately how much extra BTC they need on top of the "tentative fee" they list on the order page, or is it just that it needs more confirmations?
edit: nvm it just needed the confirmations.

This is a new service, with a feature that no one has by now, NFC payment! https://shakepay.coThe bad thing is that it only works North and South America Who is going to make their app supporting NFC payment even in Europe? It is important that it should work with the virtual card even at the KYC level 1.
