I want to be able to withdraw cash from atms outside the US.
Or Wirex, they're coming to the US:
Wirex has extra fees (on top of ATM/bank fee) and low daily limits for ATM withdrawals and may not be too attractive for that purpose (Wirex is more fit for paying with the card in store). Although if they get more (and more, and more) customers maybe they'll reduce those fees, but .. that's just a hope.

The other issue with Wirex is that they're using ridiculus spreads from live market rates. They claim to have no exchange fees, but there's a very big difference on how they convert BTC. Everyone using them should know that. I'm afrain many are unaware...

For me it's the only game in town but I'd be straight back to xapo or bitpay if they opened up again. Wirex makes no sense if you have an alternative as Americans do.

I don't think Bonpay.com is going to make it. They are deleting more and more public data. They can't be reached. They come up with more and more shady ideas, like "our customers have to withdraw their coins or they will not be safe", while their support isn't operating at all. They simply don't answer on any request for months now.
So, this is how much we can trust companies which offer Bitcoin debit cards?
For the future, a good indicator might be if a company allows Waybackmachine of archive.org to archive their website. I couldn't find a site with the info who is behind this company.

Just got an email notification that Shift is shutting down their card as of April 11th: Just as an FYI to everyone in case for some reason you did not get the email. -Dave Dear Shift Cardholder,
We hope you enjoyed using the Shift Card and truly thank you for your loyalty.
We, unfortunately, will be retiring the program in April of this year. All Shift Cards will be officially deactivated on April 11, 2019. Don't worry, your Shift Card will continue to work until that date. Feel free to email support@shiftpayments.com. if you have any questions and we'd be happy to answer.
We hope to re-launch the program and issue new cards in the near future. Thank you for your patience!
Sincerely, The Shift Team

Just got an email notification that Shift is shutting down their card as of April 11th:
Is this the Coinbase card? What with Bitpay losing some banks the other day keeping money on a crypto debit card is starting to look like an even sketchier bet than the average crappy exchange. There's still £16 of mine out there somewhere stuck on a Wavecrest Bitpay card that I couldn't be arsed to reclaim.

Last time I looked, if you wanted to go through all the grief you can still get the money back from Wavecrest for the card. But you are correct, for that little it's probably not worth the time. -Dave

I'm sure in most cases you'd get your money back, it's more the being left in the lurch. I remember lots of screaming from people travelling abroad and using those cards as their sole form of payment and waking up to find they were instantly unusable with zero notice. At least this card is giving a grace period.

At least this card is giving a grace period. Without taking this too far off topic, if you are traveling and only have 1 form payment you are asking for trouble. Lost card / stolen card / Visa-Master Card - Amex whatever network goes down for a while, etc. Close to home, it's a pain. Far away it can be miserable. -Dave

hi, cant read all pages, can someone provide there is any operator allows create more than 5-10 virtual cards? kyc is not problem. thank you There are many bitcoin powered cards (debit/prepaid and even virtual) and I just couldn't find any updated list. I've gathered all the bitcoin card providers I could find. The post below is an actively updated list of bitcoin debit card providers. Feel free to throw a tip my way: 39UFCEZXypQGwwojeoyknhLEpgcC1V3gr5 WARNING! DO NOT TRUST ANY OF THE PROVIDERS BLINDLY. Do your due diligence if you're going to use their services.

Coinbase were perfectly happy to destroy their merchant processing by making merchants handle their own seeds so it may well not be coming back. It's a dumb move as that must be appealing to a lot of users, but Coinbase don't seem very bright.

Weird that they're shutting down America. I would've thought that would be a prime market considering how stone age their banking is. Anyway good for Brits and eventual Europeans. The card provider track record is pretty shaky. I hope this will be more solid. I can't get the app to accept the code though. https://blog.coinbase.com/spend-your-crypto-instantly-with-coinbase-card-4c840e59a8d8

I cannot even install the application. Although it tells it should work on my Android 8.1, it tells: This app is incompatible with your device. I will leave them finish the application. Hopefully that'll happen before the full-EU launch happens.

Hopefully that'll happen before the full-EU launch happens. It's hideously buggy. Perhaps they're getting a lot of applications but it's taken about fifteen shut downs to get to the confirmation phase and it can't get past that. Anyway if this has the same sorts of costs as Wirex and actually works then this is where my business is going I think. Wirex is crankier by the day. Edit - it's a 2.49% fee. That's a lot. Depends on whether that's still cheaper than Wirex's spread. I may just order one and frame it.

I don't know luxpin. There's this list to be checked, although it seem to be no longer maintained: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1DRbTeMCzb4UeXI0YlAzBxMc2u2i0cN_17Ql6eMngK6E/edit#gid=0Also you can check TenX (afaik they work in Asia) and AdvCash (they may have started selling outside Europe too, but I am not sure).
