Nope I dont think so this is the same as smoking. It is true that you need to find ways to reduce it if not they will get some complicated diseases but addiction in gambling this is all about mindset. You let your mind to think about gambling and gambling wont do good to you. Like I just said and pass posters said you need to do something that can attract your mind not to gambling but something else that dont really depends on gamble. Get used to it gradually it will lessen the addiction

i am getting addicted to gambling.And i am loosing a lot of money.I am loosing what i can't afford to lose.its sad that when you start loosing its just busted me again and again.at last i gamble for fun but now when i am getting addicted i am loosing too much.

Can't you ask for exclusion? Many sites had that. Although that will be probably hard in the btc world, since you can just open another account with ease. Maybe ask the support to limit the amount you can bet, and slowly controlling your gambling issues.

I believe that if someone knows that they are addicted, they got the power in their own hands to help themselves. If you know have a problem, solve it and find a solution for it. If you can't at least seek for some help.

This may be another working idea who do not have self control. Most of the gamblers are not having self control over gambling just due to the reason of gambling addictions.
But the problem is there are many sites, so if you locked one site, you may switch over to another one. So, with out self control, it's very difficult to stay away from gambling.

Well you can just block yourself from most sites you use in any given moment. The problem is that in btc you can just create another account and deposit again with no problems because there is no identity control.

It's easier said then done. Some people need other people around them to support them to get rid of the gambling addiction. It's hard when gambling is easily available to you. You can just hop on your computer and start depositing money and start gambling.

I get urges similar to yours, I found that the two most helpful things were as follows.

1 - Find other hobbies to preoccupy time. 'Idle hands' are your own worst enemy.
2 - Put that money somewhere you can't touch it easily. (I loan it out to people, that way I don't really have it until they pay back)

Other helpful tips...

I changed the passwords to the gambling sites to something I can't remember at all (I used a random wallet address). I can still make an account but I don't feel as motivated.
I also try to move on by thinking of it for what it really costs. This i struggle with. I gambled with 1 BTC and got all the way up to 2 before I lost it all. (I know its small for some people  ) but I try to just think to my self. "Ok, at the time I only lost about $300, even though it could be worth about 1k right now, I only lost 300.
Also, I don't know how far under you are, but having only lost 1 bitcoin I'm working my ass off to make it back. Once you break 'even' in other ways (investing, interest, buying) it won't feel so bad.
