Because it makes our adrenaline go higher. That feeling creates endocrine which can makes our brain attracted to it. So we want to feel that feeling again. I don't think so. I am thinking that most gamblers are playing because they want to profit as the main reason, only a few will play gambling just because playing is fun. Yes gambling is addicting but i can't see the "fun" as the main reason why people is playing gambling.
