No local business would or should announce bitcoin payments without any survey for checking if there are enough bitcoin users around so that they can get some customers who are willing to pay in bitcoins, otherwise their adoption would be purposeless if there is no one willing to pay with bitcoins around there.

I don't think you even need a survey in order to know that customers want to use Bitcoin as a mode of payment as you will see it in the real world, from the news of it to the price of it. And I don't think that the popularity is one of the concerns of those local businesses. One thing for sure is that Bitcoin is a volatile currency and local businesses does not have the chance of accepting a big risk into their small market. By accepting Bitcoin as a payment they would take the risk of having higher or more likely lower income compared to accepting Fiat currency.

I am happy that I have successfully added BTC to one of the coffee shops near my locality. But soon BTC fees got high and got too much delay in the confirmations so they started accepting LTC, Faster and having a good price right now. Thanks to the people in my locality who transact in BTC, ETH and LTC, it became easier for the Coffee shop.

My biggest question about this is how transfer fees should be handled.
Imagine wanting to buy something that costs $0.50 or $1.00.
Your transfer fees could be equal to the amount of the item you're purchasing.
Should retailers cover transfer fee amounts or should buyers?
Which is the better business model geared for growth and overall value/equality?

It's a step by step process and yes, it will be not that fast but ones they started to recognize and understand what bitcoin is. They will freely adopt it for their business. Since they don't need capital for it as they will be the ones receiving payment and will not pay people for bitcoin. It's a matter of choice to them and additional way for receiving payment.

Two scenarios I can think of The first one and the obvious one is that the buyer's going to pay for the fees. If the seller was to cover the 1$ fee for a 0.50$ transaction, then he just earned -0.50$. Continuing this strategy will lead to bankruptcy. I've bought stuffs on online shops and most of the time, you pay for the shipping fee. But upon reaching a certain amount, they pay for it. Maybe the same thing can be applied to stores accepting bitcoins. The second one will be the seller covering the transaction fees but the price of their items will increase. This is a good marketing strategy since it gives the illusion to the customer that they saved some money because of the free transaction fee when in fact it's already added to the price of the item. Most online shops are like this. They already include the shipping fee on the price of the item and then put "Free shipping" on their advertisements.

Right now it's probably impossible to convince them but because most of the people that are using bitcoin right now are young, very young (60% of users are between 10-34 years old) meaning that in the near future those people will likely use bitcoin for their business if bitcoin continues its development so we really don't have to convince anyone, it's a matter of time.
to me i think if a person have the ability of convincing people and if a person have good knowledge about bitcoin, then i am sure that he can convince a person to adopt bitcoin in his business, i think so many people have already started online business and they are using bitcoin instead of fiat or USD, i think they are really happy with their decision. Indeed, making a bitcoin for local business woudl be a great idea however, it is not that easy to convince people to use bitcoin because we know that bitcoin is anonymous. Furthermore, while the bitcoin community became larger at the same time few transaction and confirmations becoming slow.

I dont understand? Why is there a need to have the settlement to their local bank accounts? Why not copy the model done online and use that offline? Thats more efficient.

Furthermore, while the bitcoin community became larger at the same time few transaction and confirmations becoming slow. That doesn't make any sense. Bitcoin is anonymous so people are not going to use it to pay you? Paper money is even more anonymous since it doesn't have anything but finger prints which can easily be replaced by another finger print. If someone pays you fiat, do you ask for their name and their whereabouts/whatabouts? I don't think so. If people aren't using bitcoins to pay you, then it's alright. You've been accepting fiat anyway. When a buyer used bitcoin to pay you, it's even in their advantage. If you accidentally overcharged him, you can simply send back some of the money to the payer's address and then add some message to it. Transaction time is getting longer and longer but it's almost impossible to double spend in bitcoins as of now.

He's saying that Point of Sales (POS) machines should be designed to accept bitcoin. So those shoppers that will pay through credit card, debit card or bitcoin will automatically goes to the bank. But this type of implementation for me seems to be not effective as it needs more time and effort for working with this matter.

If thats what hes saying then theres no need to include BTC acceptance for POS machines. Debit card, credit cards and cash will do just fine. What problem was BTC trying solve by including it there? Do you get the point?

By campaigning massively bitcoin through mass media, local media, newspapers, with the help of banners, posters, etc., I think that way we can encourage local businesses to accept bitcoin and maybe local businesses will grow if more people receive bitcoin as a means of payment.

I don't think that is necessary for Bitcoin in order to be accepted by Local Businesses. And don't you think that it is inappropriate for us to be advertising Bitcoin at mass media? The only way we can make Bitcoin more known is good news in which they will give it an article for us to read. Also the demand of Bitcoin is what we only need for Local Businesses to accept Bitcoin. A massive increase in demand might change the perspective of these businesses about Bitcoin.

There's a lot of censorship and control gong on in the media. They only show good things, and then show only the bad side of certain topics because they are biased. Aside from it's not going to be just accepted right away, who's going to pay for all these? The advertisement on TVs costs a lot. Plus, the watchers of the TV are probably not that tech savvy since most tech savvy people are always lurking around the Internet. Maybe it will be even better if bitcoin gets featured by tech related channels on youtube. Bitcoin is not a product. You can advertise all you want but it's not easy to convince a regular Joe to start using it. Plus, the government will not allow us to just advertise bitcoins since it's not under their control and it's against them.

Thats a face palm suggestion. What is this? Are we marketing a product? Are we that desperate to have the people use it? You should be asking yourself if those people, you want to get into Bitcoin, really do need to use it. The answer is mostly no. The best they can do with BTC is buy, hoard and hold as an investment.

A proper time need to be noted to start accepting bitcoin into the local business. Right now if you start accepting bitcoin into local business in yourlocality people without thinking decide that what you're doing is something a illegal business. This is because of the ransomware impact. Hope when something good comes in media about bitcoin execute the plan to profit good.
