I see that most people are scammed in paypal deals but also in bitcoin but less. I consider bitcoin better than paypal in some cases and paypal better in some other cases(for fast deal and buyer protection)

paypal is good with refund system for buyer protection, but this system is bad for seller
sometimes buyer receive his digital good and try to refund his paypal transaction

But if you have proof that you have sold something and it has been delivered to the buyer they can not refund you.
That's not 100% sure, but most likely. I had a situation when I have bought a cheap but very good looking phone on ebay with decent specs. Next day the feedback started to show up that the seller is a scammer. The seller has not sent anything after the payment, so I have opened a dispute in Paypal. After the dispute, the seller have provided a tracking nr. which was legit. Dispute has been waiting for the tracking nr. to show if it will be delivered to me or not. A bit later the post delivered me a small envelope, I have signed that I have received it. The seller has sent me an empty(!) envelope just because of the tracking nr. to Paypal. That moment I thought that I have lost my money, my luck was that if I order something above $10 I always do a package opening video. With this and with a lot of phone calls to paypal and much more email conversations, I have managed to get my money back, despite of the proof of delivery, but it was a long fight and a lot of hassle...

Sending a blank envelope with tracking to deceive ebay and paypal? That is a new low.

What are your opinions on paypal or bitcoin for online shopping?
In my opinion, I'd use PayPal to shop online since it is more secure. I mean, if the online shop is a scam, I can simply chargeback and get my money back.
Bitcoin transactions are irreversible, so I won't shop online with Bitcoin (only for very expensive stuff).

Life sucks.

Well we are talking about shopping online so definitely I'll go for paypal on this one. As much as I want to choose bitcoin , I can't cuz the lack of online shops that do accept bitcoins, unlike paypal that most online shops accept it as payment.

Paypal is accepted in many places while Bitcoin is not.

Sadly most of the times I don't even have such doubt

using paypal is very difficult. Easier bitcoin
It depends on type of stuff you want to buy ,paypal would be very easy option for buying physical/electronic goods ,fashion ,apparel and cosmetic type of stuff cause your credit card would be safe from all the issues if the website your are buying on is shady in any sense.
Bitcoin is not meant to be used for such stuff it has different uses and advantages.

well this is the only advantage of paypal, and that's it, but it's not a problem with bitcoin, it's a problem with merchants that can not accept it due to regualation

in some country the acceptance is moving in the right direction already, especially in the eurozone, you need time for that, probably another 10 years at max

The buyer protection is something why i still go for paypal. It gives consumers adequate protection against scammers. With bitcoin you don't have it. After you sent your money, it is hoping for it to go well. With paypal as a 'escrow' this is quite safe.

Bitcoin!!! Because your money wont get limited for no reason whatsoever. And you are actually able to make a profit, and not pay 5% + set ammount of fees like on paypal. Also less scam-chargebacks.

Yeah, this is not anything to really worth getting worked up about.  The fact that more business are cautiously getting in to bitcoin acceptance is a good thing, slow and steady is better than no acceptance.  Plus, it's normal for the EU to be the first to adopt something like this. They are usually the front runners to try something completely new and revolutionary compared to any other country.

I personally would much prefer to be able to use Bitcoin for all online purchases for example eBay and Amazon, Paypal annoys me because i have had my account stopped multiple times for no apparent reason, also transferring any amount of money can take up to 72hours from paypal to bank and paypal holds your money as a new seller.

By simply opening a new account and depositing a few hundred pound, surly paypal should not be allowed to block an account and say they are "investigating" ...... seems like a way just to hold your money so they can gain on interest possibly ?

The only benefit with paypal is the buyer protection, however i have used this multiple times and paypal never helped, i think the entire paypal service is quite glitchy and obscured.

Yup. Paypal arbitrary rules and catch all clauses ensures you are always at losing end. Not to forget their hefty fees

The chargeback feature can protect the Paypal users from some scammers online , that's why many scam sites don't use the Paypal
However personally i prefer using Bitcoin because it's faster and easiest way to pay online without problems
