This is the best news for this week! Best of luck to the ones leaving and best of luck for the new/enhanced team of Bitsler!

Great guys, btw I want to know, is Gabriel still with you? .....
Yes shield132 ! I'm still here with Baryom and all Bitsler’s team ! And I'm also very excited about this new start . Many things have to be done and we will have a lot of work but I can't wait for it! .... then this is very bad management on part of Baryom. Simple.
Hi JollyGood, indeed DDOS attacks are not the reason for Bitsler being offline for 2 weeks. The main reason is that one of the owner of Bitsler has decided to quit. Like Baryom already explained, he was really tired (mainly because of the constant DDOS attacks). Probably, you believe that changing most of the dev team including the main one is simple, but trust me, it's not, especially in this kind of business where security of players is everything. Our old and new team are working together extremely hard to make sure that Bitsler will be back as soon as possible. I admit that we didn’t communicate enough but please respect their work. Thank you all for your patience, understanding and kind words, we will update you very soon with fresh news about Bitsler's reborn :slightly_smiling_face: Cheers, Gabriel

Dear players,
I am very sorry for being late in communicating with you all but it's been a rough time for Bitsler's team. Our technical director, my partner, was very tired after working very hard for the past 3 years, every single day. He decided to quit and to focus on other projects with a part of our dev team. We are all respecting his decision. On my side, it is just one more step in the Bitsler's history. A new dev team is already working on the website and we should be able to reopen within a few days which is good news for the future and we have a bigger dev team than before with a lot of power and will! I will update you with more details soon.
Cheers, Baryom
To get bigger team on your development is indeed a great thing to do. Good to see that bitsler will be back online and continue his service here, so this will answer every doubte out there from people who do not really believe that bitsler is going to do the best to make sure they will be back in no time. Hope this team will still continue and keep becoming bigger and better site

Many thanks for the post. If the previous owner was tired of the DDOS can you please confirm which Cloudflare package was being used (Free, Pro at $20pm or Business at $200pm). I certainly do not believe that changing teams or devs is easy but steps should have been taken to smooth out that transition so it would not have caused disruption. Having said that I am involved so I do not know what is going on behind the scenes. I wish you success during your transition period.

For all intents and purposes there's no difference between the plans for anti-ddos purposes. (As of a year ago) I tested all of them, and they all work the same way. The difference is just in the features they offer and the guarantees. They all provide perfect level-3 DDoS protection, decent HTTP protection (but still happily let in huge bursts of traffic, which can overwhelm most services not written specifically for it). And of course, there are a lot application layer DoS that CF can totally not help with. As a simple example, bitcoin-core will prefer spending confirmed inputs over confirmed inputs. So if a wallet has N inputs, by making <=N withdrawals (before a block) you can force the wallet to have wtf-bad coin selection (and reveal all its inputs). And the wallet is capped a theoretical N*25 withdraws per block. Nothing insurmountable, but often fighting DoS's is very frustrating. Feels like playing wack-a-mole. I remember spending a week "battling" against this korean botnet owner dude (who had something like >25k computers) who kept taunting me for a week, and pulling off some very clever attacks. A few times I was on the verge of tears

A few times I was on the verge of tears Thank you for the post. Sorry to read about the botnet that was after your website for over a week. From what I see Cloudflare offers 4 plans: https://www.cloudflare.com/plans/Free Pro ($20 pm) Business ($200 pm) Enterprise (POA) There is almost no difference between Free and Pro but there is a significant difference between the Free/Pro plans and the Business Plan because paying $200 per month guarantees "24/7/365 uptime". Paying $200 per month should guarantee virtually any site uptime so to read you tetsed it and it did not work sounds strange. Please confirm whether you tested the Business Plan and Enterprise plan and what the outcome was when compared to the Free and Pro plans. The Enterprise Plan states "24/7/365 uptime, Sustained speeds via dedicated IP ranges, Emergency support engineer" but I have no idea about the price as it is POA.

Ryan is right. There are no differences and cloudflare won't guarantee that your site stays up 24/7. You still need to code your site to handle all the things cloudflare doesn't protect you against and also set cf up properly.

The 100% guarantee is just marketing noise. They guarantee *they* will be up 100% of the time, and on the business plan will comp you 100% of the downtime value. So say they're down for 1 entire day, they'll credit you a whopping $6.66 (and on the free/pro plans, you'll get nothing). But that's all besides the point, because cloudflare itself is remarkably reliable [1]. The issue is always really on your end (and often because of the sheer volume of abusive requests CF will happily proxy). [1] The only time I've ever really had issues with CF itself was when battling against the korean botnet guy, who was ip spoofing CF I managed to convince CF to help me out and put me on the experimental websocket stuff. Immediately after they did that, the seoul POP went down.

I never read a review about a website that was on the Business Plan that went down so will still presume that is the best affordable plan for a serious project. I also never heard about $6.66 being paid for downtime either. Thank you for the information.

We can all thank Baryom but if there was no DDOS attack and the partner was walking away why was a replacement not put in place to avoid this debacle? If there was no DDOS attack and there was no malicious disruption then this is very bad management on part of Baryom...
JollyGood - The fact that Baryom's technical partner left Bitsler does NOT mean there was no DDOS attack... More likely, I'm guessing the ongoing strain of defending and responding to repeated DDOS attacks (plus who knows what other types of threats a high-value crypto-business must face) may have been factors that lead to this departure. Anyone who's ever designed, built or managed a major online business knows it can be *incredibly* stressful – and very easy to get "burned out" after weeks or months of long days, spent fending off threats and keeping your systems up and running. Anyway, hang in there, Baryom, Gabriel and team! On the bright side: You guys have clearly built a loyal, diverse community of folks who really love your site, and are willing to support Bitsler if you guys are able to work through your growing pains... Not every business can say that - so you must be doing something right.

I think only people who have coins below the minimum withdrawal has not been paid, others have got their coins. but you can at the sametime send a mail to them if you have not received yours.

Or he can just wait till Bitsler fully come back, hopefully soon as Baryom has said that there is new dev team who is working for the website already. I believe when the site is coming back then all balance which is under the minimum withdrawal stays on the account. No need to worry IMO, but if his issue is about not receiving withdrawal then indeed the best thing to is sending them a mail.
