I would love to have some sticks made with these chips, I hope they do release them to the public then. Really looking to mess around with one or two. I would call it "Mini mining."

sidehack sticks, the second most efficient miner in the world behind the antminer s7 supposedly, running at 8gh/s + .31w/gh. No, he just experiments with chips and he just happened to make one of the most popular miners on this forum. He's trying to get some chips to work with em or sht.

Yeah, I haven't heard any news in a while. I assume chips will be available, and I'll do everything I can with 'em. A stick would be nice, but a ~400W scale miner would be nice too. When I have news it'll be made known, but right now I have no news.

TSMC had probably 0% yield in their 16nm fab (fab 14) after the earthquake early February this year:

Manufacturing 16nm chips is one of the most complex processes one can think of. It will take some time to recalibrate the production line again and after that they will serve tier 1 customers like Apple first.

I renumber one time a few years back were earthquake or floods in one other place in the world caused prices for months on memory and HD's for PC's to shoot thu the roof till they got back on track .

so that might just be why . we may not see a thing for 2 or 3 month now . or i like to think that's the real reason .

Yeah Thailand, around 2011, flooding sorely jacked up hard drive prices. I was working in a computer repair shop at the time, and kept having to explain to customers why stuff cost too much.

 prices went up 2 to 3 times normal.  I was able to sell them lower then anyone on ebay and still make really good money on them.

I would have to think I made 3000 more then I thought I was going to make on those hdds.

And everyone loved me on ebay as my price was way lower then anyone else.

They were a good item to sell since I recorded  serial numbers.  I think I had 1 return in 40 sales.

Damn.. I remember those times, and drives costed SO. FCKN.MUCH! I sold my 1TB HDD because I had to take advantage of the prices, and after the craze ended I bought a 2TB HDD with some of the extra. Good times... wasnt a ponzi but doubled my hdd size xD

*sigh* looks like bitmain will be our savior again. Unless Bitfury pulls  a magic trick on us, we'll be seeing some ridiculous bitmain miner with terrible efficiency on the market with a terrible price... It all gets better every day, doesn't it? If this continues after the halving difficulty will need to drastically drop for current gen chips to still be profitable.
